Really? I've tried but never really got it. A friend reminded me I'd seen then with the High Llamas in London in the 90s. The High Llamas, I remember. Maybe I should try harder!

takes me few songs before I get properly into their gig, but really enjoyed it

Seasick Steve was excellent at the HMV Empire in Cov last night.

Just booked for Depeche Mode at Twickenham on Saturday 17th June next year, then checked and realised i'm seeing Springsteen at Villa Park the night before

Depeche Mode over Springsteen every time!

Just bought my Desertfest tickets for next May. 3 days of gigs around Camden, well worth it for anyone into stoner/metal/desert rock. Pretty good line-up, seen a few of the bands before but looking forward to seeing Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Valley of the Sun and Kadavar.

I saw Deep Purple in Leeds last Sunday - given it's almost certainly the last time (Gillan is 77 now) it was remarkably good, and quietly moving too. Worth it for When a Blind Man Cries Alone.

Never really done much in terms of gigs down in London. At ally pally on Saturday, best way of getting there?

I’m going kasabisn tomorrow as well. The overground train goes from Moorgate. Otherwise you can get the tube to Wood Green and walk, going past the pub the kinks started out at

Herman Dune on Saturday

I only dip in and out of their stuff but I often love it. Where are they on? Not that I'll be going, I've already been to my gig for the year (Prolapse at the Y Theatre last Wednesday)

Paolo Nutini was terrific, but the Birmingham O2 Academy is such a shit venue.

Especially when you join a long queue, wait an hour to get to the front, and discover you should be at the Institute.
