Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 I'm guessing I'm in the minority that wants him to stay as well.

Webbo Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 Martin wants to stay TRANSLATION: Liverpool aren't going to give me another contract. Tbf, he hasn't done bad these last 2 matches, we could do worse.

5waller5 Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 I absolutely want him to stay - I rate him highly. He's much more assured and confident than hendo and has made some great saves in the last few matches as well as looking solid organisationally. Babylon Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 I think he's looking better, in fact he has looked quite commanding at times lately.
adam Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 Good keeper and definately good enough for the championship.
Lovejoy Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 Still only young and has visibly improved in his time here. Is his contract up in the summer?
Lovejoy Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 nooo fook off Martin What does Stringer not rate him? How about you go to a few more games to form your own opinion .
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 He is looking better as the season progresses and if he wants to stay it can only be a good sign that he is enjoying his time at the club. He is also looking at his career as well because i doubt he is good enough to push Reina out of the number 1 spot at Liverpool. Does anyone know what the record is for the most number of clean sheets in a season? as i remember at the start of the season Paul Smith won an award at forest for keeping them last season. Thought it was around 20, and as martin is on 13 already...... Edit just found out its 25. So martin needs 13 clean sheets out of the next 19 games to break the record. Possible...... Daggers Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 He's young, he's still learning (and keen to do so) and he doesn't have many faults. I've not understood the venom he seems to invoke in the children of the forum. I'd be happy to see him sign up for a full-time contract.
Bert Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 ...."when we get promoted if I could play in the Championship it would be good." I like this. And I'm coming round to liking Martin much more.

Manderic's pants Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 He's young and his performances have become more assured as he's gained more experience. His kicking remains a concern though, and was pretty woeful against Crystal Palace. And he seemed bothered by their fans' jeering. CP fans are, on the scale of things, a bunch of pansies... He's not bald Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 Still only young and has visibly improved in his time here. Is his contract up in the summer? Not sure about Martin's contract but I know for a fact that Hobb's contract ends the same day his loan with us finishes!
Alexikokopops Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 Not sure about Martin's contract but I know for a fact that Hobb's contract ends the same day his loan with us finishes! I thought he signed a new contract with Liverpool earlier on this season.

davieG Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 I've thought all along that he's no worse than Hendo at most aspects of goalkeeping but the one thing he excels at compared to Henderson is the number of times he throws or looks to throw the ball out, something Henderson rarely does. Whether he's up to Championship level I don't know.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 If Hobbs and Martins contracts are up (haven't been paying attention to Hobb's contract...so I'm unsure) we'd be silly not to offer them deals... Just noticed Martin uses the phrases 'good set of lads' and 'great bunch of lads here'... he maybe correct but it brings back memories of a rubbish part of our recent history! AjcW Posted 30 January 2009 Share Posted 30 January 2009 Suprised no one picked up on stringers balls up at the start of the audio..... "looking back to brighton it must have been nice to come through with 3 points".....martin replies "yeh well it was a draw"
