Flynny Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Fryatt and Howard never played up front together in the championship. I don't agree with Maddog but I don't see what difference it would have made - Howard couldn't win a header in this division last season. I'm crossing my fingers that it was because of low morale and in inept manager rather than this league's physicality else we're probably boned.
MPH Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Can't believe people just keep dismissing him like he's a piece of shit and just flush him away.He can score goals in the Championship, he should be given another chance, Fryatt and Howard both got theirs. We need strikers and we don't have to pay a penny in transfer fees and other fees if we keep Dj. We should still keep him, i don't give a fook what he says, if he's with us he will have to knuckle down and play. We went down from the Championship due to a lack of goals up front, and the same thing could easily happen again, we may need all the help we can get. Any extra striker we can have at the club is a massive bonus. You probably are getting used to Nigel Pearson's style by now.... Do you really think NP wants someone in the side who doesnt want to play for the club?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 You can't say what he said and get away with it. The fans wouldnt forgive him and when he returns with another club next season he'll be in for some grief I'm sure. He deserves it. I wouldn't really care about all that if he bangs goals in at Champo level. I'd forgive him in an instant.
DB11 Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 I wouldn't really care about all that if he bangs goals in at Champo level.I'd forgive him in an instant. And that's why people still love Dickov...
Maybes Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 I dont want a player that doesn't want to play for Leicester City.
Tilley Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 I would take him back with open arms, spesh if he started banging 'em in, which I think he will. I would go as far as to say, if he plays as many games as Fryatt, he will score more goals next season. Anyone but that shit twat Dickov.
Budweiser Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 If he hadn't publicly stated that he'd rather be anywhere than here, I'm sure most would welcome him back. Fact is he did, and has to live with his choice of action No way in my opinion. If he came back and played, and say he missed his first half chance, he would get absolutely slatted by the usual crowd, which I think would be most. When we went down, even the players said they felt pressure playing at home because of the fans. Now, I don't mind giving them abuse to get their arse in gear, however constant moaning damaged the team. Im not saying we went down because of this, it's just that City fans get on players' backs too quickly.

I just think that alot of fans had given players like Oakley, Howard, Fryatt etc. second chances or more and so far it's paid off in spades. They'd probably have been willing to afford DJ the same opprtunity had he not made the statement that he did. Just my opinion mind, but really his position is kind of untenable at the club now
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 And that's why people still love Dickov... What are you on about? Don't understand that. Different situation to Campbell. Dickov scored the goals, then fucked off. All about getting the fans back onside with DJ, and if he got 20 or so this season, for City, then alot of fickle fans saying they "hate him" now will soon change. Anyway...I can understand people not wanting him to play because he wants to leave, but if he starts to play regular games, and plays well, who's to say he'll be so desperate to leave? He's had a nightmare here tbh, I can understand his desire to leave, but given the chance I think he could shine, and be happy here.
lildave3 Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 And that's why people still love Dickov... Nobody loves Dickov!

How about the willy puller gets himself onside first!!
foxoffderby Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 clubcall.com Hoops move for Foxes ace Leicester City, 13:25, July 23, 2009 Leicester City striker DJ Campbell could be on his way to QPR before the start of the season. Campbell has been linked with a switch to Loftus Road after a nine-goal loan spell at Blackpool last season. The Seasiders wanted to take Campbell on a permanent basis but their boss Ian Holloway admitted they had little chance of being able to afford his wages. QPR are not hampered by such mundane matters and a source close to the West London club said: "DJ Campbell would be a popular move and I'd expect him to earn a five-figure weekly salary."
Flynny Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 What are you on about? Don't understand that. Nobody loves Dickov! Good bit of clever sarcasm by DB11. Took me by surprise as well.
Ultra Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 DJ hasn't been given a squad number for this season. So it looks like he'll be on his way sooner rather than later..
ronnup Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_5452046,00.html uh oh, do they still need Dudley?
maddog Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_5452046,00.htmluh oh, do they still need Dudley? Hope not Surely we must be signing a new striker or 2 next week anyway, surely NP wouldn't leave it until the final week before the first game. I would knowitall to come back and say that even 1 striker is imminent.
Tilley Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 DJ CAMPBELL OR MICHAEL 'NEVER FIT' BRIDGES & PAUL 'FUCKING SHIT TWAT' DICKOV?! Not hard is it. Stay Dudley.
lou Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 DJ CAMPBELL OR MICHAEL 'NEVER FIT' BRIDGES & PAUL 'FUCKING SHIT TWAT' DICKOV?!Not hard is it. Stay Dudley. I hate to say I think youre right. If we dont sign someone else I think Id rather keep DJ than not.

leicesterseddon Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 I hate to say I think youre right. If we dont sign someone else I think Id rather keep DJ than not. Yes, but I've got a sneaking suspicion the club are having to offload DJ to free up funds for a possible move in the transfer market...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Yes, but I've got a sneaking suspicion the club are having to offload DJ to free up funds for a possible move in the transfer market... I tend to agree. I think we are looking for the best price possible to help fund the move for a striker. I think we are desperate just to get him off the wage bill too.
CosbehFox Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 The bottom line with Campbell regardless of his ability, if he doesn't get along with anyone in the team or management, it's hardly good for morale.
CosbehFox Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 We went down from the Championship due to a lack of goals up front, and the same thing could easily happen again, we may need all the help we can get. You keep mentioning this and then pinpointing Fryatt as one of the causes yet I hardly remember Campbell being profilic. If you are going bang on about money, Campbell's surely been a more costly use of our resources and money.
