The forward played in the Foxes' friendly match against Rotherham United, which was abandoned due to floodlight failure, on Tuesday night but is expected to return to France today for talks about possible loan deals with two clubs. Stade Brestois 29 and AC Aries-Avignon, both promoted to Ligue 1 last season, are thought to be leading the race for his signature. Kermorgant is understood to want a move away from the Walkers Stadium and a loan deal could be the easiest option for all parties, with a permanent move a possibility on its conclusion. The 28-year-old suffered the wrath of the Leicester faithful at the end of last season when he missed a penalty in the shoot-out against Cardiff in the play-off semi-final in controversial circumstances. He struggled to make an impact throughout last season and Nigel Pearson's departure to Hull City seems to be the final nail in the coffin of his Leicester career. If we are only playing one up through the middle maybe not such an issue? As long as Fryatt is fit and firing... Still want to see N'Guessan tried up front, could be an option, good first touch, strong in the air etc. If Howard and DJ do go we are pretty thin on the ground up front, could be interesting.

From a personal point of view I always thought the only decent thing we could use out of him was his aerial ability, so I don't see particularly how the new possession game would suit him. I always thought he was a bit too slow and deliberate on the ball but we all see the game through different eyes. Looks like we'll never know if he'd have been effective under this style.

Corky Posted 21 July 2010 Posted 21 July 2010 If we can find a suitable replacement then it's probably for the best. I have a fear he will get stick from our fans at the early home games, which will do no-one any good, least of all Kermorgant. I'm undecided, I've seen parts of his game that I like but will he be consistent enough (not every game, but a decent amount of the season) to make a real impact? I dunno.
