CosbehFox Posted 23 November 2010 Posted 23 November 2010 Tunchev may have a lack of Championship experience but he does possess European football experience. Walsh is one centre-back who was out for 18 months and played in the Premiership/Europe after that. N'Guessan on the odd occasion he's played upfront looked a car crash. His biggest problem is his own brain.
Father Ted Posted 23 November 2010 Posted 23 November 2010 People making out he will be our John Terry are idiots, especially given his lack of Championship experience. It wasn't a walk in the park for him in League One so he'll struggle in the Championship especially given his distinct lack of pace and his obvious problem with grappling opponents when he can't catch them or has been caught flat footed. Not as a saviour but as an option to mix things up abit, especially whilst we can't hit a fucking barn door. He cannot be worse than some of the so called footballers that apply their trade in our side. Dany N'Guessan is a serious goal threat, he would cause alot more problems for our opponents than 'headless chicken' Waghorn or 'huff and puff because I'm past it' Howard. On the Tunchev front - you couldn't be more wrong. With N'Guessan though, I am fully backing you. I am another one that feels that N'Guessan could easily do a job upfront if he was moulded into more of a striker. He has all the attributes - similar to those of Drogba He has speed, power, strength, an ability to hold the ball up, he can head and attack a ball from corners and crosses better than Howard can and he has a decent finish on him too. He reminds me of a young Heskey.
deep blue Posted 23 November 2010 Posted 23 November 2010 I'm with you all the way, Father Ted. Should I be worried? On the Tunchev front - you couldn't be more wrong. Jimmy Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I trust Sven not to try and rush him back and just let things build gradually
Daggers Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Really hope he makes it back. Don't hold your breath.
Tewy5 Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Let's hope he makes it back this time he's a good player and could do a good job for us must be his last chance tho wish him all the best
StanSP Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Crocked for life. Any rough challenge he gets and takes a bad fall, he's a gonner.
dannythefox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Soon as he gets back fit he will be on his way. Like him but hes not going to make it back in the team, sven doesnt want to be worrying about every time he gets tackled if hes going to get back up again.
hackneyfox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Is this fact that you're always suspect after theis injury? I thought they'd said that it couldn't happen again as the op strengthened the area.

It may have strengthened it, but it will never be good as new, will it? He's basically more prone to injury than a player who hasn't sustained injury before.
dannythefox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 It may have strengthened it, but it will never be good as new, will it? He's basically more prone to injury than a player who hasn't sustained injury before. Spot on.

Edmund Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 no his tendon in that knee will be stronger as they use Achilles tendon's from donors to repair the knee, which is stronger then the original It wont be stronger. Once you've knackered you're knee it's knackered for good. It will be stronger than not having a transplant obviously but it wont be as strong as it was pre injury.
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Hopefully he will make a good enough recovery to see him back and playing in the side. Although getting into that side is a tough ask. We have decent players at CB in Davies, Hobbs and Vitor. He was a class above in League 1, but I don't see him not fitting into Championship football since he's a decent footballer unlike most of the "hoof it up there" units in this division. As for the DNG loving, I can't believe it. Unbelievable. Anybody calling him a goal threat up front I cannot take seriously. Ridiculous comment. It's like listening to the Fry-up fans on the radio, only I'm reading words instead of listening to them.
muzzy1981 Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 I wouldn't make any plans around Tunchev, too risky need to concentrate on getting another permanent top quality CB. If he comes back to form it will be a bonus but is injury track record is not great.
Ric Flair Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 I shall do what I always do, and pin all my hopes on Tunchev rescuing our season. Bags ful of clean sheets and a shit load of last minute bullet headers from corners to win us matches. Alexander The Great.

muzzy1981 Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 I don't think it is actually that bad, I don't think he had a serious injury until he joined us. Yeh he played a lot of games previous to joining us but since being with us he has been pretty crocked, all I'm saying is wouldn't rely on a player who has gone through a torrid 2 half years as he has, might take him some time mentally to be right too.
Guy Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 It would be interesting to see how Tunchev would fit back into the present side now after his time out - although I'm sure he's training hard and playing at reserve level ok. As already said he looked a class or two apart from the rest of the defence when he made his debut against MK Dons at the start of our title winning season in League One so it was tragic when he became crocked soon after then. I am hoping he will slot back in well though, especially when our "on loan defence" at present has to possibly be disbanded in January.....C'mon Tunchev!!
STUHILL Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 The way Davies and Vitor played 1st half yesterday, Tunch might find it easier than first thought to break back in to the team. I doubt we will see much of him all season though and his real focus will be next season if he stays injury free and manages a full pre-season. No doubt he is talented and I think he is capable of playing Championship football.
Jimmy Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 I thought Hobbs was unlucky to be dropped yesterday tbh
