Dickie Greenleaf Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Got a feeling it'll probably be a boring game with Citeh looking to grab a first half goal and slow the tempo right down. Will be interesting to see how Stoke approach this. Against Arsenal last weekend they had nothing to lose so were able to soak up the pressure and counter attack. Not sure that'll work in this one-off game context against a better defensive unit. I reckon 2-0 Man City. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/13/stoke-city-manchester-city-fa-cup - quite amusing/petty
purpleronnie Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Great to see 2 different clubs in the final but the fact its not the only game on saturday grates with me. Having said that I hope stoke win but I reckon man city will.
Simi Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Would rather Manchester City didn't win it, however my hatred for Stoke will see me well and truly cheering City on.
ScouseFox Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 City to win, 2-0. And yeah, not even been much build up to this, what with United about to win their 19th title, on the same day. Almost overshadowing the FA Cup final, shame that.

Almost overshadowing the FA Cup final, shame that. Agree 100% It's quite sad in a way the final won't get the recognition it deserves. The media will be jizzing over rooney and co irrelevant of the cup final result. Hope city win purely cos then we will have been beaten by the eventual champeenees.
sdb Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Come on Stoke really hope Huth and Etherington are fit! It could be a great game - both teams already in Europe. Could be dull with 2 teams giving nothing away..
Ozwin Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Hope city win purely cos then we will have been beaten by the eventual champeenees. Basically this.
Bugg Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 The amount of stoke 'fans' in hanley is ridiculous tonight
Guest Bilo Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Hoof. Hoof. HOOF. Hoofity. Hoof. HOOF. Is that what anyone wants from the FA Cup winners? Doubt it. Come on Man City!
Samilktray Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Stoke use there wingers to get crosses in more than anything. Doesnt exactly class as hoofing.
FoxyPV Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Stoke to win because I hate Man City and also so another team from outside the Sky 4/5 wins a major trophy. Just talking to a mate about how shit it feels because there's a full league programme on at the same time and it feels like the FA cup has been completely sidelined. Absolute joke of a decision. Stoke play some lovely attacking footbal too.
Vacamion Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Hoof. Hoof. HOOF. Hoofity. Hoof. HOOF. Is that what anyone wants from the FA Cup winners? Doubt it. Come on Man City! They didn't "hoofity hoof" it when they destroyed Arsenal the other week... I am truly neutral for this one, just want a good game.
sdb Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Hoof. Hoof. HOOF. Hoofity. Hoof. HOOF. Is that what anyone wants from the FA Cup winners? Doubt it. Come on Man City! Don't believe everything you read. They're more direct then most but 'hoof, hoof, hoof' is unfair. Even if Stoke are direct, it's more entertaining having regular goal mouth scrambles and the likelihood of opportunities from throw ins 50 yards out than it is watching a team pass it about on the half way line for 10 mins at a time.

Zingari Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Great to see 2 different clubs in the final but the fact its not the only game on saturday grates with me. Having said that I hope stoke win but I reckon man city will. i know what you mean , but it still reads quite funny and would probably have made it into "Colemanballs" had some pundit on tv said it edit ; man city 1-0 , same as against us in 69 , probs dullish game
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Hope man city win. Taking the winners to a replay is a bit of a boasting point. Don't like stoke, the club nor city. Hated that game when we went down, their fans weren't the most sympathetic. They have great vocal support though. Can't stand huth either. Right dirty twat
broughtonblue Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Tv coverage isn't like it used to be for the final. Programes used to start about 8.30 at the teams hotel, seeing the players eat breakfast. The whole days schedule was devoted to it, even cameras on the team buses taking them to wembley. It does seem to be a 'secondary' competition now unfortunately
Fosse Boy Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Still one of the most special days of the year for me. BLUE MOON.
ozleicester Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 A little dispaointed, my first FA cup final ( i can remember) during daylight hours...and it seems the league and the country really dont care that much. Think the FA cup has now lost its lustre and is second to playoff Final. Such a shame... can remember 30 years of sitting up till around midnight in OZ awaiting kick off, a 3-4 hour lead in with histories and lead up stuff, i expected something similar here, but it has been just thrown alongside the prem games.. FOOKING JOKE... its the FA cup!
Webbo Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 If Stoke win it for the first time it'll make our failure to win it seem a little bit worse (to me anyway). I've always had a soft spot for Man City as well.
Fox92 Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 The FA Cup is the greatest cup cometition in the World, and its getting ruined. League games should never be played on the same day as the FA Cup Final. I most probably want Manchester City to win because I hate Stoke, I don't like Pulis with his kick and run football, and then we can say we went out to the winners. I think City will win as well, but it might be close. 2-1 to Man City.
