Ric Flair Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Didn't someone on this thread say Leeds conceded 65 goals with him in goal from 40 appearances last season? That sounds about right but he kept 5 clean sheets out of 8 games for Man City when he played and did very well at Cardiff and Notts County. I trust Sven.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Just because Grayson doesn't rate him it doesn't mean that he isn't good enough. Pearson didn't rate Gradel so let him go for a song and we all know how that turned out.
Babylon Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Read all about it!!!!! Leeds manager SG admits that the club have let the best goalie they have ever seen slip through their fingers as they wouldn't give him the payrise he wanted. I feel such a fool said Simon Grayson.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 It's blatant that Leeds don't rate Schmeichal but so what. I trust Sven's opinion over Larry's who was a shit house himself at times but our fans minds are clouded by the final season he had with us under O'Neill. He was regularly crap before that. If Leeds wanted to keep him they wouldn't accept a million rats, which is nothing for a player of his age. Let's hope Svennis can improve him, he's looked good on the occasions i've seen him. oh yes, times in the mid ninties I could have strangled Larry, then he got amazing all of a sudden we sold him for alot more than he was worth and he went back to being Dog.

I trust Sven. Yep, that. Let's not forget that at our place the two he conceded were a penalty and an absolute screamer from King. The problem appears to be more with their back four than anything else.
Webbo Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I trust Sven all the way but I can't pretend I've followed KS's career that closely. As with all our signings I'll wait and see before I decide whether it's a good signing or not.
Babylon Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Just because Grayson doesn't rate him it doesn't mean that he isn't good enough. He rated him enough to sign him in the first place. It's all smoke and mirrors. The reality is they get a million quid for a player who wanted to run down his contract, and can now fill a couple of positions with the money.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Didn't someone on this thread say Leeds conceded 65 goals with him in goal from 40 appearances last season? I somewhat doubt they were all his fault
Houdini Logic Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Just checking some stats on Weale and turns out he has never signed a deal for a fee - always a free or a loan. Not important at all, just felt sorry for him when it said 'Career Fee Total £0'
MrSpaM Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Is it just me, or are leeds just selling all their best players? the leeds fans seem to think so after a quick look at their forums, all of their transfer news seems to be the core of there squad being bought up. It's either they don't rate some of their better players, their desperate for money for some reason, or they've found some alien wonder team who have come to earth to promise them premiership football.
Ric Flair Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 oh yes, times in the mid ninties I could have strangled Larry, then he got amazing all of a sudden we sold him for alot more than he was worth and he went back to being Dog. Haha, I remember me and my Dad absolutely astounded when Villa paid £1.5 million for him. I was gobsmacked.
GradelnextBatesout Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 For all the Leeds fans : Doesn't everyone get a little carried away with a new signing ? & We'd all prefer Westwood, but it aint happening for either of us. More likely to come to us than you I'd say, but it aint happening. Prem bound. not us leeds fans we pretty much slag everyone off, even new signings. Beckford got in the neck and he scored 84 goals in 3 seasons after Grayson statement today, Kasper in definitely off and it does seem we are get Chunky Brown from Blackburn to replace him from leeds point of view, good money for Schmeichel but rubbish replacement
Babylon Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Looking at the Leeds boards the general consensus seems to be he's a good keeper, with the potential to be a brilliant one. Seems prone to a few errors, but anyone mentioning them always puts it down to experience, the majority seem to think he'll go on to big things.
21st Century Fox Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I remember when Sven was at Man City for the 07/08 (?) season and KS played a blinding string of games at the start of the season, he looked an amazing prospect, unfortunately for him so did Joe Hart.
Ric Flair Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I will be annoyed if Leeds get Smithies. Why? Smithies is even less experienced than Kasper and if you read the Huddersfield boards they prefer Bennett in goal. Smithies has a lot of potential but like a lot of young goalies mistakes seem to be rife. I'd rather Kasper than Smithies for a 1st team spot next season.

Looks as though the Leeds players and management have been taking lessons in spin from Alistair Campbell. He either still rates him, has reluctantly let him leave to build elsewhere and it's all smoke and mirrors as you say, or he's an idiot for making Schmeichel the scapegoat for their woeful defensive record. I know which I'd be tempted to bet on with Papa Smurf as their chairman.

Much like us when we had Mandy.
Filbert's Friend Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leicester_City_F.C. I don't know if somebody has already pointed this out, but some mystic meg has put Kaspar as a current player on our wiki page. Let's not get ahead of ourselves!
21st Century Fox Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Awesome, that kind of statement will hopefully fire Kasper up and get him playing with a point to prove.
Simmo86 Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 That sounds about right but he kept 5 clean sheets out of 8 games for Man City when he played and did very well at Cardiff and Notts County. I trust Sven. Made one of (if not the best) save i've ever seen live against us at the Walkers when he was playing for Cardiff
B52 Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 A fun communication to read. First Grayson blame Schmeichel/agent trying to get too much then Schmeichel attack Grayson and the club stating he hasn't got any contract - I'm in shock over Leeds decision. Final, because the club has got shit on it, Grayson had to get out and say Schmeichel wasn't good enough.
Corky Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Schiecal Smeichal Smeagle it's FOOKIN Schmeichel. Let's call the whole thing off.
