Kasper Schmeichel - COMPLETE

Grayson's interview published on the Leeds OS an hour or so ago, seemed to imply that he thought Schmeichel was a bit 'dodgy'. He said, that the defence required improving and that another goalkeeper was needed to do that. He said a deal for someone else to come in, had been lined up before City's bid for KS - and (again) implied that they (whoever it was) would replace Schmeichel - "to tighten up a defence that was very leaky last season". I hope we're not taking another 'flapper' - I've never seen Schmeichel over a full game (only MoD highlights).

Of course, it could be that Grayson's trying to put on a 'brave face' (perhaps for Bates' decision to sell ?!). I suppose if the sale has gone through against Grayson's wishes, he would try to rubbish Schmeichel and make it sound (to the fans) that he was going to replace him anyway.

And panics if the ball is passed back to him on the ground.

By the sounds of things he's not the finished article. He is however, only 24 which is still very young for a GK.

Sven has brought/is bringing him in because he obviously knows him well and he ticks the relevant boxes (as a footballer and a person).

Sounds to me like Schmeichel has all the natural ability of pulling off stunning saves but the common theme from the Leeds lot is he can't organise a defence. Well if our defence consists of a similar motley crew to last season then we could be in trouble again. Fear not though, we have a very good goalkeeping coach who has proven in his time here of how he improves goalies positional sense and command of the area. Sweet.

So in other words, their getting rid of their decent keeper to buy decent defenders instead. I think they'll run into the same problems we had last season tbh

Can't be good for the lads confidence!

Confidence is one thing he seems to have bags of.

He should perhaps try changing the clowns in front of him first!

Didn't someone on this thread say Leeds conceded 65 goals with him in goal from 40 appearances last season?

As you'll probably already know..

The majority of the time it's not the keepers fault goals are conceded. Defensive frailties like we've seen on many occasions, are the major cause for concern especially when the Midfield push forward looking for goals, and leave massive gaps and no protection, leaving the keeper to pick the ball from the net and have another goal conceded on his record.

I was talking about Weale, his lack of control of the ball was one of the many reasons I preferred Ricardo in goal.

Didn't think that, I thought u liked weale better 

Shall I say it first... whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I remember him at Derby. Lee Grant cannot be seriously thought of as better than Kaspar. When he played for the Owls he was about their best player, but that wasn't hard in a very poor side.

I think Papa Smurf has made the request to sell to buy. It's evident when Prem teams are sniffing around Gradel and Snodgrass, and in all honesty they have been lucky to hold onto those players last year. But I digress.

I think if that's their number one choice of GK to replace Kaspar we had got the better deal.

I do. I was replying to a quote about our current goalkeeper costing us on average a goal a game. I was just pointing out KS's average wasn't anything to shout about.I was just being a smart arse.

Time will tell if he's a good signing, I can't say I know enough about him to judge yet.
