Corky Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 We haven't actually taken their player. We've agreed a fee with Manchester United, because that's who he's contracted to. We had a few years ago with Mark Davies. Nothing we could do about it. Leicester can offer a better deal than Barnsley. It's the way the world works currently.
Fox 4 Life Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 OS on the ball as ever. Merc and Sky Sports confirm but they are nowhere to be seen....
fevtyke Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Barnsley fans need to grow the **** up and learn their food chain. We take their players, the Boltons of this world take ours and the Chelseas take Bolton's. That's how it is. We aren't 'giants', we aren't world beaters, Leicester ain't s metropolis and we know that. But we aren't some Yarkshuh 'market town' either. And we might have just won a mickey mouse cup but that's better than **** all and what are their Premiership credentials? Jesus. Anyone'd think they'd been robbed by Carlisle. , YOU SOUND LIKE A MASSIVE WEDNESDAY FAN...
Finnegan Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 , YOU SOUND LIKE A MASSIVE WEDNESDAY FAN... AND YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY A YORKSHIRE MOUTHBREATHER THAT CAN'T READ.
Saxondale Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 The most frustrating thing about all this bitter sniping of us is that it wasn't so much the Leicester fans that built-up our chances this season, it was the media and the bookmakers! The only thing we're guilty of is not being skint anymore. We've had plenty of shit times, why can't any other fans be happy for us instead of being cynical, jealous and scathing. Everybody slated us when we were in administration and now we're being slated for actually having some money. WE CAN'T WIN!
Callabinho Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 OS on the ball as ever. Merc and Sky Sports confirm but they are nowhere to be seen.... I think we are on the brink of landing a few more today, so their waiting to see if anything else develops
Pst Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Loved reading some of the 'little' Barnsley remarks. How very amusing. Anybody would think you were a big club... It wasnt that long ago you were in a run-down ground, without a pot to piss in. Funny how a bit of success (Mickey Mouse Cup) and a foreign owner affects your opinion of yourselves. Think I will make do with the knowledge that YES we are little. And we have only been owned by Barnsley born Barnsley fans. And that we spend what we make, and play by the rules. Not so little though in terms of being the longest 2nd tier servant, ahead of who? Yep, Leicester, the "giants" of.... erm, Leicester. Another one club city like Leeds. Try being a small market town with Leeds and Sheffield to the side. Its hard work, as a football club even more so. And so to be the top club in the region AGAIN is testament to what we are all about - the ever over-achieving, true underdogs of english football. As we showed you last week. Team Barnsley Not BIG Just BETTER. . We know our role and relish it. Its my town, my team. I wouldnt have it any other way. It does sting a little though, knowing that blummin Leicester are now some kind of cash cow of english football. Losing players to Derby is bad enough, but jeez.. . As for Drinklager, he has had 2 or 3 quality games. But very few awful games if any. He's a solid, if unspectacular player, box to box, with good feet, great engine and a thunderous shot on him. He isnt as good as Perkins, although being 8 years younger he no doubt will prove to be. Anything under a million is a bargain for the lad, and nobody at Oakwell has a bad word for the kid. But, he was nothing until King Keith n Flicker got hold of him, and developed him. It will be interesting to see if he copes without em. He was pants at his other loan clubs.. I would usually say good luck to you, but the remarks about us were pathetic. And lets be fair, just a few days ago I told you the best TEAM would win. And then I read PEARSON OUT etc etc etc. Now, its 'well done NP' FICKLE.. Lets hope you dont go tits up heading for admin in a few years eh? But, no, it wont happen to you... will it? . Best of luck Drinks lad. Top player for BFC. But when we are in the Prem next year and you are Adam Hammill-ing on a midlands bench, drop us a line, we may say hi.. . (the views above are ironic, bitter, twisted, sarcy, gay and true.. probably) SERIOUSLY - Good luck to the true fans of the Foxes. No hard-feelings. We got 4 pts off you, you got a loanee. Ta-ra chuck
LcFc_Smiv Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Just said morning to the Barnsley fan in my seminar group, he replied with willy puller, rather uncalled for
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Just said morning to the Barnsley fan in my seminar group, he replied with willy puller, rather uncalled for Eee by gum !!!!
blueharmie Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Barnsley is a shit hole. id rather be walking round st matthews any day of the week, no highfields, no i mean mowmacre hill.
ealingfox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 He only played NINE games for Barnsley, why the fvck do they care this much? He wasn't even their player! Small Club mentality if I ever did see one
AKCJ Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 What the **** is wrong with the OS? How long does it take to write 'we're delighted to announce the signing of Manchester United central midfielder, Danny Drinkwater', get a picture of him with a cheesy smile while holding a blue shirt and do a little interview with him asking him if he is 'looking forward to his time here'.

Happy Fox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Maybe they are waiting to announce more than one player? Well if that is the case then don't expect the OS to update anything today.
StanSP Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 You've had him for less than 6months and suddenly you've developed him and he was nothing before Barnsley took hold of him . Forget being at Man Utd as a young teenager, right? Basically, Barnsley fans. Pipe down, and move the **** on.
Master Fox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 He only played NINE games for Barnsley, why the fvck do they care this much? He wasn't even their player! Small Club mentality if I ever did see one That’s some pretty impressive development. Hats off to Barnsley. This signing really wets my whistle
hbkkids Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Have we signed him, because there is nothing on BBC site or LCFC official page or Barnsley official page or man utds.
Happy Fox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 A done deal http://www.barnsley-chronicle.co.uk/sport/article/4855/reds-will-be-fine-without-me-says-danny-? Danny Drinkwater thinks Barnsley's form will not suffer despite his departure for Leicester City and the season-long injury to fellow midfielder Jacob Butterfield. Midfielder Drinkwater spoke exclusively to the Chronicle after Leicester paid Manchester United £1million for him then he signed for the midlands club and ended his loan at Oakwell. “There are a lot of good players at Barnsley besides me and Jacob," said the 21-year-old. "I think they can go on and have a great season. They are a good bunch of lads and I wish them all the best. “I was expecting to stay at Barnsley until the end of the season but Leicester met the price that Man United wanted them to pay and I was allowed to speak to them. I wanted to sort out my long term future instead of being on loan so I have signed for Leicester.I have to thank Barnsley for helping me massively this season and I will always like the club. "I hope Barnsley supporters will understand that I worked my socks off for the club while I was there and that I was not looking for a move away.” Ironically, the last of Drinkwater’s 18 appearances for Barnsley was in the 2-1 victory at Leicester on Saturday. His sensational performance – during which he set up both of Andy Gray’s goals – as well as the long-term injury sustained by Leicester’s midfield star Andy King are thought to have persuaded Foxes’ boss Nigel Pearson to snap up the former England youth player. That win for the Reds put them ahead of Leicester in the Championship table but Drinkwater is hoping to overhaul his former club before the end of the season. “It was a good last game to play in and a great result for Barnsley. But now I am at Leicester and I want to make sure we finish ahead of Barnsley. “I see the move as a step on in my career. I wanted to keep playing regular Championship football and now I will be at a club who are genuine promotion contenders rather than a club who were play-off contenders at best.”

THEFOXES1884 Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 I dom´t anything about him tbh apart from he´s a MID, I´ll have to check on youtube. I can see us getting more in in the next 10 days or so.
broughtonblue Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 can't believe he wasn't put off by the booing, instead of being negative it must be seen as a positive by opposition players that lcfc fans care so much for theur club

StanSP Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 £1m. I'm undecided on whether that's too much or just right amount for a youngster from Man Utd?
