foxfanazer Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If its true good luck to him. I'm not too fussed if he stays or goes to be honest but he seems like one of NP's favourite players so I would be surprised
Happy Fox Posted 22 January 2012 Author Posted 22 January 2012 People seem to be forgetting that NP likes his conventional 4-4-2. So expect Danns and Drinkwater to be in the centre of the park and two wingers added.
artursteppe Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 It's a rumour from the daily star?!?!?! We don't need too sell any more players ? There are rivals also ..... Just No!!! Do you mean 'they're our rivals', because we all know there are rivals, any number of them.
smudger63 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Brilliant, let's sell our only known creative midfielder. Yes, he has had a few bad games this season, but who else in the team hasnt? Richie has been unfairly made the scape goat this season for some reason. The short sighted ness of the majority of fans on this forum is astounding... Oh My God!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Wellens is laying on Tom Kennedy in that photo, I think.
Ric Flair Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Too tired for Leicester. Hhahahahaa! From Gallagher's twitter
MrFox781 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Clueless fickle fans, he was player of the year last season and is a quality player. Funny how he played really well against Forest and you don't mention it. He is not the cause of all our problems you could list loads of problems and also highlight specific individuals for us dropping points St ledger for his pass to Maynard making it 2-1 to them Mills for the penalty against Forest Mills again for getting sent off at Birmingham and Hull Gallagher / dyer for lack if cover for Peltier when Vaz Te went by him against Barnsley The list goes on and on , I find it hilarious some of the comments by so called fans on here get behind the club ffs and stop looking for a scapegoat. If you are going to slate people back it up or shhhh Well said mate. yes wellens hasn't been great but i can see worse then him in our team. richie played very well against forest and im hoping he can still build on that. fans need to stop blaming everything on him. idiots.
thybluefox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 No matter what people think of him here, I promise you all that if he goes to Leeds he'll suddenly become one of the best midfielders in the league.
Mack Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Did any of you who are wishing Wellens away to Dirty Leeds see his performance again Florest? If his name was Yuki Wellens half of you would be plating his balls in gold.
ScouseFox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 This is clever from Pearson. I think I get what he's trying to do, selling every midfielder at the club. We'll play a 5-0-5, sometimes a 6-0-4 when we need to approach tricky games like Barnsley at home. This way, when Mills, Kasper et al "bypass" the midfield, they won't be bypassing the midfield, because we won't have one. This is the stuff of Pearson's dreams, selling all our midfielders gives us an excuse to play long ball.

If you are going to slate people back it up or shhhh Great Post Wellens along with a number of other players has had four managers (counting Pearson twice) over the last one and a half seasons, imagine how that would affect anybody in their workplace certainly unsettling if nothing else. Wellens had a cracking game on Tuesday night but none of the "Out Brigade" had got the balls to come on here and say so, same goes for Beckford. Some of our fans think real life works along the same lines as a footballing computer game which it obviously doesn't - to those who take every opportunity to fire insults at our players take time out to read some of the more constructive posts on here and try to learn more about the game and life in general before sending out crass statements.
cc_star Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Well said mate. yes wellens hasn't been great but i can see worse then him in our team. richie played very well against forest and im hoping he can still build on that. fans need to stop blaming everything on him. idiots. Poor team with no movement & everyone marked-up = Poor Wellens with unrealistic passing. Organised team, playing with movement & desire to receive the ball = Wellens at his best, able to play short passes on the deck We've generally been the former since last Feb & only rarely been the latter.
Stevie Synex Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 We have the funds to get better quality in Richie is an average championship player who's best days have long gone, with NP contacts we could get a young player from the prem on loan who would do the business consistently imo. Proof?

Jobyfox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 I have to agree with some of the posters on here as Wellens has been a very decent player for us over his time here. I agree his form has been poor of late, but I've not been blown away by the performances of: King, Danns, Abe, Gallagher, Dyer, Johnson or Fernandes this season and yet it's always Wellens who seems to be the target of the negative brigade. Wellens should not go to Leeds unless, or until, we have found a better replacement. With King injured and Fernandes and Abe gone it's not like we're blessed with depth in the centre midfield department.
Guesty Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 His legs are going so if he left and we got replacements it wouldn't be the end of the world. I think he still would do a good job coming off the bench though. If he's brought on in the 60/70th min, eveyone is knackerd and his lack of pace isn't such a problem. Question is if he would be happy being a bench player after being one of the main players over the last few years. If he wants first team football every week then better for everyone if he moves on, but I'd at least wait to see how Drinkwater turns out and wait till the summer.
Salieri Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 We should keep Wellens until the end of the season. Unless he could be used as a makeweight in a deal to get Snodgrass that is...
kingfox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Thank god, please please please be true. Has turned incredibly poor this season, we need fresher players instead of this negative a**hole.
Guest Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 He's slow and fat and passes backwards. Only runs back occasionally, gives up plenty of fouls, needs lots of time on the ball, always looking for a killer pass and nearly always fails to deliver. Good player for a lower level club. Thanks for the memories, goodbye.
ian the fox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Lets keep all the squad......................... , 15th in the champioship proves what talent we have already
The Doctor Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Omg another one ! So you don't think Grayson has a clue about Richie then ??? Yeah, I think he's pretty shit. He's a flat-track bully and the moment we play a half-decent team he disappears. People go on about last season, but he was only more than average for the short time after the turn of the year.
Fox92 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Yeah, I think he's pretty shit. He's a flat-track bully and the moment we play a half-decent team he disappears. People go on about last season, but he was only more than average for the short time after the turn of the year. Do you not see that Wellens is our only midfielder that will get the ball down? This was highlighted at Forest away in the cup when he didn't play and none of our midfielders got the ball down on the floor. And half of our team, if not all of the players, have dissapeared against half-decent teams.
Ric Flair Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Dnt we give him a 4 year deal as well? I want him gone ASAP, it's bad enough having Howard and Oakley here.

I better have a fvcking word with specsavers 'cause they've clearly got my prescription wrong. When I see Wellens play he doesn't keep the ball down, he launches it long, to avoid having to actually move his fat ass and make space to get the ball back.
