Fox92 Posted 24 June 2012 Posted 24 June 2012 http://news.bbc.co.u...v_1/8940428.stm Anyone remember this game ? Yes. As I recall, Mills scored, then we went up the other end and then Mills cleared the ball off of the line.
Mark_w Posted 24 June 2012 Posted 24 June 2012 Yes. As I recall, Mills scored, then we went up the other end and then Mills cleared the ball off of the line. Was probably trying because it was on TV. He looked a lot more willing to put his body on the line against Real Madrid in a friendly for us, than in any Championship game.
Saxondale Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 I see someone has already update Wikipedia to show Mills out on loan at Bolton. Funnily enough, Robert Mugabe was also showing as being in our youth team.
tyneside fox Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Seems Bolton deal could be off as MM struggling to sever tie with LCFC and apparantly been told to report back for pre season according to Bolton News. http://www.thebolton..._deal_in_doubt/
Out Foxed Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 if true it's quite impressive how much a cvnt mills has proved to be.

Fox92 Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 "The late collapse of the move will mean that Mills will start pre-season with City"
jimmer Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Blatently trying to drum up intrest from others parties.....we could fall on our face here!
dpjfox Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Or we could keep potentially one of the top CB's in this division
Adster Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Or we could keep potentially one of the top CB's in this division Who won't play because Pearsonhas the hump with him?
glenny_fox Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 This is dragging on to much now, the longer it goes on the more of a hinderence it'll be on Pearson's plans.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 The whole 'Sven experience' really has and is having a big impact on the football club. He, and the Board, have saddled us with players of just average ability but who are on allegedly ridiculous money at this level, especially with FFP lurking around the corner. For the first time I'm wondering if it's best for Pearson to bite the bullet, play Mills and see if he can somehow get the best out of him. What a completely daft state of affairs we are in. However, I'm not surprised one little bit. The other half of the article alludes to Bolton being on the verge of signing Keith Andrews... A player I'd very much like at City.. Ho hum........
Fox92 Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Or we could keep potentially one of the top CB's in this division Nothing to me suggests he is a 'top' CB... His attitude is poor, he doesn't look bothered at times, he isn't consistant and his better games are those displayed on television. Mills is another overpaid player within the squad, that won't play, and will probably be happy taking his high wages. I'd rather us get rid of him and his annoying/poor attitude. The whole 'Sven experience' really has and is having a big impact on the football club. He, and the Board, have saddled us with players of just average ability but who are on allegedly ridiculous money at this level Totally agree. Does sum it up for me, Col. Frustrating more than anything, especially when some of them haven't produced.
deep blue Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Seems Bolton deal could be off as MM struggling to sever tie with LCFC and apparantly been told to report back for pre season according to Bolton News. http://www.thebolton..._deal_in_doubt/ Strange phrase, which intrigued me. My first thought was that MM had found some late allegiance to City, but reading the article carefully it looks to do with money; either Bolton want a bit better deal to take him off our hands or, more likely, Mills wants a financial incentive to leave (holding us to ransom). Either way, it concerns me that he may well start training with us. I would have preferred his likely negative influence to be out of the way, a clean slate for the squad when they start pre-season. It also fogs the financial position of our club, with a possible impact on bringing in new players. Damn!
MPH Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 What amused me about the Bolton Article is where it said we would get rid of 20 players. Oh and Merc says No Heskey. :-( ( that actually sounds life saving face by City there. He chooses to go to a rival club so we will say we didnt offer him a deal...)
Jimmy Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 not really Sven wanted Heskey Pearson never commentated either way and has always show a preference for signing younger players
foxfanazer Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Can anyone explain to me the logic in sending mills out on loan
Jimmy Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Can anyone explain to me the logic in sending mills out on loan Pearson doesn't like him and wants him gone any way possible
foxfanazer Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Pearson doesn't like him and wants him gone any way possible Yeah but surely we need to recoup some of the money we spent on him?
Jimmy Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Yeah but surely we need to recoup some of the money we spent on him? loans aren't free and they'd have to pay his wages too
foxfanazer Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 loans aren't free and they'd have to pay his wages too Fair enough
marko Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Or we could keep potentially one of the top CB's in this division It's alright pal, we're flogging Mills not Morgan.
dannyjpage Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I get the impression that Mills shot himself in the foot with his bad attitude. Its also worth considering that when we agreed the fee with Reading that the cost of the transfer was dependant on the number of appearances he made (i do not know and purely guessing) I would imagine this plus his bad temper was why he no longer played a game for us. I have to say that im a season ticket holder and never saw his car in the car park. Just because he was not chosen to play, he always had the option of turning up and cheering the lads on. We have ex players ie walshy that still show their support for the club.
