jock2612 Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Bolton News states that after the capture of Andrews Coyle is set to meet Mills representatives Friday with the hope of completing the deal. Lets hope we are near the end of this saga.At least the loan will mean he cannot play against us this year.
foxes2011 Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I know this deal is vertually sown up but i just felt we should give Mills a second chance. Things surely couldnt get much worse from what happened last season and remeber he was a key part of Readings team before and he didnt become a bad player over night. Bamba brought out the worst in Mills with his risky style defending. I wasnt happy with Mills disiplin last season he got sent of alot but i think the fall out was the reason he was dropped. It looks like hes going now but we have yet to see the best of him, it just hasnt worked out at Leicester for him. If we do sell him though looks like we are losing more than half the fee we payed for him a year ago and we shouldnt do that. He will be joining promotion chasing Bolton and they are a team you'd expect to be up there next season so he cant be that bad if they are considering buying him. Dont understand this surely Pearson can shake his hand and make up. I know he was bad but thats probley the worst season he has had in his career and things could only get better.

Yes he could do better if given another season, but can he do well enough to justify the wages he's on and the losing the potential £1-3M we could make back from selling him? I don't think so.
MikeyT Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Just needs to go now. Not doing anyone any favours while in this situation. Would have loved it to have worked out for him here, but as Singh says above, it's best for all parties now to get shot of him asap.
Alf Bentley Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Bamba brought out the worst in Mills with his risky style defending. It looks like hes going now but we have yet to see the best of him, it just hasnt worked out at Leicester for him. My recollection is definitely the opposite: Mills played in a mid-week game at Watford (with St. Ledger, not Bamba), a defensive collapse ensued and we lost 2-3. Pearson then dropped Mills for the FA Cup game at Norwich. Morgan and St. Ledger played, put on an excellent performance, the only goal conceded being a dodgy penalty given against Kasper. If credible rumours are to be believed, Mills chose this moment to have a verbal confrontation with NP - presumably unhappy at his non-selection. This suggests: a) Mills has a massive ego b) He does not have a massive brain I'm not suggesting that he's a bad player, though I do think he was over-rated and massively over-priced. He's strong in the air, positioning OK, gets some good blocks/tackles in, but prone to the odd rash tackle and very poor distribution...not convinced he's any better than Jack Hobbs overall. Sometimes a player does well at one club, but not another. Same happens in other walks of life - anyone can love a particular employer and perform well, but hate it and perform badly at another, whether that's due to their colleagues, their management or their own attitude. Unless I'm mis-remembering, he didn't start again after Watford/Norwich. So, any club interested will know that he's not wanted here and will want a big discount. Bite the bullet, take the loss and get rid!

We have got to ship some of the high earners off the book, and if there is one high earner that should go its him. He obviously has some talent but we cannot afford to keep him if we want to move on with our squad.

Bite the bullet, take the loss and get rid! I agree with you about Mills... But aren't we attempting to do exactly what you are advocating? We ARE trying to 'bite the bullet and get rid'.. Or so it would seem But Mills won't bugger off! Or so it would seem
MPH Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Him going will be best for all parties!! Dont mention the word party to him, he will want to stay then! ( allegedy)
AnotherShitSeason Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 The whole Mills thing really is a farce. I can still hear the Reading fans laughing all the way from the Premier League.

Or so it would seem But Mills won't bugger off! Or so it would seem Indeed, I wasn't disapproving of the club's actions. I was disagreeing with the previous post by foxes2011, suggesting that Mills could be given another chance and that it was his bust-up with NP that led to him being dropped, when it seems to have been the other way round.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 I have it on very good authority that this deal may or may not happen.

dave_the_fox Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Mentions Jim McNulty at the bottom, a name not mentioned before. Any good!?

Deucalion Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Do Bolton have a choice to not go ahead with the deal next year?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Do Bolton have a choice to not go ahead with the deal next year? i would imagine any loan deal would come with options at the end of it, catch 22 really because we dont want him to do well because Bolton could be a threat but at the same time we want rid of the cvck
seenitall Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Nige can't handle big players - why we'll be staying down till he goes
