flowwolf Posted 21 June 2012 Posted 21 June 2012 Fair point. No arguments. Just saying his pricetag ruined him before he even got going. How do peeps no he was being a cock? I was under the impression if he played 1 more game he was to have a wage rise and extension ala the salgado situation at blackburn. Not sure though Steve Claridge came to us for a million quid , which was more than any player we had in the side at that time, did he use that as an excuse to be shit or "ruin him " did he fvck. If Mills wasn't being a cock off the pitch he certainly was on it, red cards and the worse captain I can ever remember as a Leicester player. He was mediocre before he came here and will continue to be mediocre only that twat Sven saw something no one else did.

Completely agree that Mills was no good for us and that we completely over paid and glad hes going, but wasn't he in the Championship Team of The Year before and we were involved in a bidding war with (then) Premier League Wolves?
oli fox Posted 21 June 2012 Posted 21 June 2012 Have just seen that Big Wes was in the Team of The Year last season so maybe thats not the best thing to go on

If anything, I bet he laffed in Frys face as he walked out of Brum...
LcFc_Smiv Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Have just seen that Big Wes was in the Team of The Year last season so maybe thats not the best thing to go on Morgan's shown far more than Mills already, he's made a few mistakes but name one player in our defensive line that hasn't this season and has on the whole looked pretty solid.
oli fox Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 I definitely do like Wes and im more than happy with him in the squad but i never really thought of him as being Team of the Year material thats all
LcFc_Smiv Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 I definitely do like Wes and im more than happy with him in the squad but i never really thought of him as being Team of the Year material thats all That's fair enough but he was part of a Forest team who looked certain for promotion but managed to bottle it as always haha Or are we talking about our team
Uncle Monty Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Have just seen that Big Wes was in the Team of The Year last season so maybe thats not the best thing to go on Who's team of the year?
MrSpaM Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Have just seen that Big Wes was in the Team of The Year last season so maybe thats not the best thing to go on What exactly did he do to not deserve to be in it?

To be fair, he was in the championship team of the year, the season before he came here, and i fully expect him to do very well at Bolton.I thought he would do well under Pearson, because he is the type of no nonsense centre half, that Pearson likes, but there was obviously a clash of egos, and the manager is always going to be the one with the last word in those circumstances, which is why it`s right that he has been moved on.
goose2010 Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 I'll just be glad when he's gone its getting boring now!
jock2612 Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 I see that Fazackerley thinks that part of Miils problem at Leicester was that after he left he was shown no respect by the NP etc and that explains most of his problems.a situation he feels will not happen at Bolton.Thoughts?
Oadby Fox Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Best all around for Matt Mills to leave Leicester City, says Steve Walsh http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-16433101-detail/story.html Hi all, My first post just thought I would share this with you

I think Derek Fazackerley is full of shit and I'd love to know why Mills wasn't any good when Sven and Faz were showing him all this respect. Most of the players Sven brought in did well under either him or Nigel, Kasper, Bamba, Peltier, Danns, Nugent even Beckford under Nigel to some extent. But Mills wasn't anything special under either manager, so any mistakes NP made with Mills, Sven and Faz didn't do that much better.
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Best all around for Matt Mills to leave Leicester City, says Steve Walsh http://www.thisislei...tail/story.html Hi all, My first post just thought I would share this with you I agree with all of that apart from the "he has good technical ability" part. A good technical ability to boot the ball 60 yards forward to...... noone inparticular? Give credit where it's due - he doesn't need any.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Glad he's going and we will see an NP chosen defence instead of an inherited Svens "kid with money in sweet shop" purchases.I suggest making judgements after they've played together whoever or whatever combination.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 I agree with all of that apart from the "he has good technical ability" part. A good technical ability to boot the ball 60 yards forward to...... noone inparticular? Give credit where it's due - he doesn't need any. He has got it in the locker, see his 60yard ball for Dyers goal vs Barnsley. Shame 9/10 are wasted.

Smudger I was basing my opinion on what I saw him do on the pitch for us. I still think he was mediocre for Sven and carried on being mediocre under Pearson. Silly red cards and no leadership as a captain can't be put down to a clash of ego's that's down to him. But as you said maybe a fresh start at Bolton will do him good and hopefully they will buy him at the end of the season , so we can get some cash back.

marko Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 He has got it in the locker, see his 60yard ball for Dyers goal vs Barnsley. Shame 9/10 are wasted. I think the phrase "even a blind squirrel will find a nut once in a while" is pretty appropriate in this instance.
Raw Dykes Posted 24 June 2012 Posted 24 June 2012 I think the phrase "even a blind squirrel will find a nut once in a while" is pretty appropriate in this instance. Exactly! Any one of us has got it in the locker, if that's the standard. Any one of us could punt the ball down the pitch ten times and have one of them turn out to be a great pass. I can't see why anyone would be impressed by that. Clearly, if he tries that all the time, and it only very rarely pays off, it probably means that he doesn't have it in his locker and the few times he's successful are pure luck. I'd only say he had it in his locker if most of his long passes found a team-mate.
