Ahead of the second season release next month on Disney +, Disney have helpfully put episodes 1-3 of the first season of Andor on YouTube.

Star Wars for grown ups/people that don't like Star Wars.  It's a GREAT show

My mum let me stay up and watch this when my dad was away. My first taste of sci fi and still my favourite, the ending was incredible and brave and is still shocking every time I watch it.
Deserves a remake without doubt.

I watched it as a kid, had to alternate with Charlies Angels which my sister wanted to watch.

When Gan died it showed that anyone could go and when they destroyed the Liberator it showed nothing was safe and they held true to that, right up until the finale, which shocked me as it was kept quiet, the fact the totalitarian Federation won and all the heroes died was quite something.

It also had some terrific dark humour,

A Thousand Blows is passable.

The dialogue style of Tommy Shelby declarative style wisdom is tedious though.

The repetition style - 'I look in the mirror and I see a man. The man I see is not me. The man I see is not me and I am not that man' style that Peaky drifted into towards the end was only tolerable because of how well Peaky built itself up in terms of characterisation. Even then, half of it was boring in Peaky too.

Here it feels like the show takes itself way more seriously than it deserves and it comes across as boring.

These characters have had no development to trade upon so all this statement-esque assured speech where you repeat and point things out in transparent psuedo metaphor is just clumsy.

Solo leveling is such a well written anime, an incredible show

For a 'world' that has so many stories to tell, Disney have really produced so little of worth

It's quite an impressive effort to spend so much money on so much meh stuff.

Andor is fantastic telly in its own right but I don't think any other series they've made is better than "well it's sort of alright". There's hundreds of people involved in making these shows but relatively few writing and producing and I just don't think they're that great at it

I like the time period and the sets are impressive.  Stephen Graham is pretty good in most things and this is no exception.  Thankfully it doesn't have Radiohead and Iggy Pop playing in the background.

Yeah. It's pretty. Graham does a good enough job. The dialogue lets him down because it's trying to be something it isn't.

Yeah exactly, for the amount put into these shows there have been so many flops or "alright" programmes.

Ha yeah it had everything and gave me the addiction to Sci Fi I’ve had ever since

I know I’m way behind but my wife / daughter have been watching Riverdale.

Which has also turned into me watching Riverdale.

What have I reduced myself to?

Just finished Adolescence on Netflix. Ashley Walters & Stephen Graham. Wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to be but still a decent enough watch.

Thought this was excellent. A really difficult watch, but very well done. I'm a bit of a sucker for the long continuous takes as well, always love when films and tv shows try that. It adds to the realness of it I think. To shoot an entire episode in one take is incredible.

Pretty heavy watch though, had to have a break after each one.

Where's all the chat about how surprisingly good Resident Alien on netflix is?

It's surprisingly good.

Why does he look so much like Oliver Skipp though?

Couldn't sleep so was up early and watched the first episode of Adolescence. Jeez, what a way to start a day.

Brilliant yet uncomfortable watch, feels so real. I think I can predict where it will go but that was some first episode.

Acting and camera work is brilliant.

Devil in the family ; the fall of Ruby franke.

Unbelievable viewing, if you're interested in human behaviour, you need to see this documentary

Just seen the first episode, didn’t previously know much about the case.  At this stage I am intrigued as to how the father fits into the narrative.

Thought Adolescence was excellent. Felt like they couldn’t top the first episode, but some of the smaller things were so impressive.

The family scenes felt real and Stephen Graham’s facial acting alone is incredible.
