Landman S2 drops today

And the one liners are as good as they were in the first series.

In other news, the new Bullseye is a mere pretender to the throne of Jim Bowen’s Bullseye.

Watching old eps of Bullseye on Challenge is something I do more regularly than I'd like to admit, and while I agree it can't hold a candle to vintage Bowen, I do think the new edition is *fine* in the current realm of TV. It definitely feels a bit too polished, but Flintoff is good and you can tell he loved the original. But part of what made old Bullseye great used to be that the contestants were among some of the strangest looking and uncharismatic people to ever exist. The contestants on the new one have clearly been vetted to within an inch of their life, they're all a bit "you'd love my mate, they're mad!" and it just sands down the rough edges that used to give the old version it's charm.

Old bullseye is honestly more of an anthropological study of 80s provincial Britain than a TV show. Some of the faces, haircuts and above all the accents are sensational.

With Jim absolutely ruining them for their appearance and hobbies 🤣

I love old skool tele but my god bullseye is so boring. Imagine just having three channels and the choice of viewing on a Sunday afternoon was that.

Won't be surprised if Big Break gets brought back can guarantee Bradley Walsh would present the reboot.

Hunted is completely farcical now.

The hunted now just all decide to taunt the hunters completely unnecessarily? Find it hard to be believe, the producers mess with it too much.

Feels like it needs a freshen up.

I don't mind the taunting, to an extent.

But some of them don't go about it the right way and are too clumsy with it.

There must be something in the rules about what you can and can't leave behind at someone's house or with an associate. If it was me I'd leave loads of red herrings.

Or create lots of WhatsApp chats with different people telling them I'm coming on this day just to try and throw the hunters off :dunno:

I looked into it some more and it’s almost entirely fake, they need to really strip it back to basics but I think it’s done now.

Halfway through season 2 of Severance and I am just not feeling it.   I felt the same in the first season but got hooked towards the end.   This time around,  I think I had my fill of surrealism,  Michael Scott, bloody snow and the annoying brother in law who is an author.

Yep, Hunted is absolutely terrible now.

They are clearly made to use their phones, use ATMs, go home, not move at night etc and then it’s also very clear that often they are caught in simple ways and then it’s all reengineered to make it dramatic.

Really? I thought it was pretty dramatic with a lot going on.

Just felt like not a lot happened to move the plot forward. She tested an idea and ultimately failed. That was it.

The only other interesting thing was the South American (I think) bloke. And even that was dragged out and told us very little we didn't already know.

It's all reality and talent shite.

Talent is pushing it.

Everything moves on and different generations prefer and indulge in different things. I don't begrudge anyone enjoying their TV entertainment wherever or whatever it may be, but it all seems so contrived and false and forced. The sycophantic, orchestrated audience responses on Strictly really grinds my gears to the point where the show is spoiled for me and I can't watch it anymore.

If you're going to have "reality" TV shows, at least make it less contrived and more realistic.

If you properly went off grid, used cash, avoided cities, friends, family and didn't do extremely dumb things like "oh, I miss my dog, I need to see my dog", then it should be remarkably easy, especially as the chasers don't actually have access to all the surveillance cameras that they pretend to.

Also when the chasers turn up at people's houses and "force" their way in... no, you're just essentially actors and you have absolutely no authority to enter.

Really good episode of Pluribus this week

Like Pluribus but don’t love it yet.
I guess it will grow by the end of the season to be a don’t miss show but I am finding it very slow and I know that’s the writer/directors style but we could do with moving the story on a bit more.
I think it wants to be an everyone’s talking about it show but it hasn’t done enough yet.
