kyleolly Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Stoke supporting mate has said the LB they are trying to sign has failed to obtain a work permit, so might put the move in doubt? DH is a CB/LB? Popov, i don't think it will make any difference he's not even been part of their pre season squads, He's really out of favour with Pullis.
Jollie Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Good call. ZW, SSL should be fit soon enough. Presuming it's a short loan ?? Anyone know any more deatils re length ? Bit of a personal question isnt it?
Finn Claw II Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I was hoping we would give Moore a chance - good cover while SSL is out though
Happy Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Moore is too inexperienced yes he is talented but the rigors of the championship for him to be starting games in a season in which we need promotion wouldn't be wise imo, with Higginbotham he will give us prem and championship experience of the highest order which will be invaluable at the back.
Grey Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I was hoping we would give Moore a chance - good cover while SSL is out though I still think we will. But I think his injury scare the other night made Pearson think. The last thing we want is an injury on Saturday to one on the centre backs, especially with two more league games next week. So I think this will be extra cover just in case. Would be surprised if he walked straight into the team.
Corky Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Uninspiring. What is an inspiring signing then? Here we have a player who has played the majority of his career in the Premier League, has plenty of experience at different types of clubs and it's a loan, so if it doesn't work out it's not a waste of millions of pounds.

I agree. I think the likes of lcfcsnow, dangerous tiger, seenitall and 5waller5 are impossible to please. They love a good moan more than anything else.

MikeyT Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Good signing from NP. Will be good in this division and has premiership experience. If him and Morgan start together, that is a brick wall and a half.

I am pleased with more than half Pearsons signings this time around..just my kind of center back is a classy ball playing defender such as Vitor, don't think Pearson would consider such a player though. If Morgan and Higginbotham help us get promoted than great.

lcfcsnow Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 It must just be for a reaction most of the time, no one can be that negative constantly I think you'll find I was rather positive after the Torquay match.

Richard Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I think you'll find I was rather positive after the Torquay match. It wasn't really aimed at you mate, It's the others mentioned that I've noticed being so negative
Babylon Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I think you'll find I was rather positive after the Torquay match. We all put it down to someone hacking your account.

If your good enough, it doesn't matter how old you are or how experienced you are and so far Moore has done nothing to suggest he isn't good enough. I'm not expecting him to start every game but I think he'll start 10 games at least.
MGLCFC Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I think Higginbottom on loan is sensible - good to have a player (like De Laet and suppose Moore) who can play in more than one position. He has Premier league experience and would do a decent job - wonder if this will be completed today?
Wymsey Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Ahh, I see; Pearson is signing a lot of defenders as so when we score first, we just defend and not get anymore goals (eg. 1-0, 2-0 at the most). Typical Pearson.

Typical Pearson. I hope you're taking the piss. He's signed 2 strikers and a winger this summer, to go with the 4 strikers we already have and the wingers. Our team has more attacking flair than it's had in seasons, even under Sven who was supposedly an attacking manager. We're down to the bare minimum in central defence, we need short term cover. If this was a wind up, then fair do's but given your previous posts I don't reckon it is, which is disturbing.

Typical Pearson. He isn't signing lots of defenders, he's signed two (Whitbread and Higginbotham) and sold two (Mills and Bamba). We sold Peltier and replaced him with De Laet. So that's three in, three out. A difference of nil.

Corky Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 But has he signed Higginbottom? Don't think it's gone through yet. Shit, we need more players.
