Beckford - will he go or will he stay?

If Pearson thought they were good enough surely he'd give them a decent run of games.

By picking Nugent, Vardy and Beckford ahead of them it probably means he thinks they are better choices.

We're not debating whether Pearson thinks they're good enough are we?

I think they're good enough, that's why I said it.

Good post mate. I would suspect he does.

Well I think it's pretty fair to judge that, he can't get near the target when he has all the time to pick his spot. Who knows what he'll do when there are others around him, a bobbling ball and the pressure of an actual game. We might get the miracle of a shot on target but its unlikely

Well it depends, when I'm warning up I don't just dribble it into an empty net or side foot into the corner, I try snap shots and volleys to get my eye in. Or first time passes and shots unsing my left foot when possible even though I will probably never do it in a game, but there is no point practicing simple short passes or goal poaching from a yard out.

So yes it is stupid to judge him on the warm up judge him on games, and waghorn's goals to games ratio for Leicester compares fairly well with Beckford.

This....

Do people really judge strikers on what they see in the warm up?

You think they are, I don't think they are.

That's what Waghorn is.

So having a go at Beckford boring and wrong, having a go at Waghorn's fine. Ok thanks nice to know.

Thankfully you're not picking the team!

My money's on this one going through at some point next week.

Beckford it seem's is going out on load to Huddersfield next week.

Nugent has not scored for 10 games, Futac's unknown quantity, So we need an "Experienced forward" to come in very soon.

Nugent proven at this level, Vardy had a great start, Waghorn has a great record during his three runs under Pearson, Schlupp has done very well towards the top of League One. So don't really think we 'Need' another forward to come in. Especially as we're replacing 9 league goals.

I still believe, and regardless of how many goals he scored last season, we need 'decent/quality' if Beckford leaves. Nugent hasn't been scoring but I don't doubt him, Vardy has to keep playing due to his hardwork and team play, Futacs is a totally different player which leaves Waghorn (I don't have that much faith in him) and Schlupp (exciting but somewhat unproven).

I don't seem to have that much faith in Waghorn as other user's on here. His first season, in which he was unproven, was decent for us, but his ability shoot and control a ball isn't his best attribute even though he is a forward. I feel more confident when Beckford comes on a substitute, as appose to if Waghorn was to come on.

Just my personal feeling like.

If we could loan Becks out and loan Wickham in that would be ideal. I don't think Waggy or Jeff (yet) are good enough to play regularly if Vardy or Nuge gets injured - cant comment on Futacs as I've not seen enough of him. IMHO we need at least 3 top strikers if we're serious about being in the promotion mix.

I reckon we'll sign Will Keane on loan. Man Utd reserves forward who's returning from injury and pretty highly rated.

Surely the likes of Campbell and Wickham are suggestions, I cannot see us going for, or getting those players. Wickham is a different player to Beckford anyway, I recall him being a target man for Ipswich.

More realistic shout (in my opinion) but Chris Wood? Don't think he is wanted at Birmingham, and if we could just take him on loan. Doesn't have to move home, as it is just across the midlands, can hold the ball, win headers and score at this level. Works for everyone.

Pearson is a clown if he loans Beckford to Huddersfield.

A clown would be paying someone Premiership wages of probably in excess of £25,000/week just to sit on the bench, who lets face is it never going to do the business for us

Unless anyone thinks that doing 'the business' is scoring about 1 in 7 or 8, whilst simultaneously not really helping the team out
