Leicester City 3 - 1 Hull Post Match

Some memorable times today:

- Nugent looking sharp and confident again

- Knockaert's exceptional first touch and ability to keep possession in tight areas

- A couple of great last-ditch interventions (De Laet, St. Ledger)

- Drinkwater's surprisingly fierce tackling & control of possession

- Knocky's sublime run and cross for Nugent's second

- Bruce getting sent off to the stand, then utterly humiliated and ordered down the tunnel to chants of "You fat bastard!" etc.

- Chants of "Boring, boring Leicester!" at 2-1 & 3-1, in response to their "We used to be boring" chant

- About 5 Leicester players racing clear for the 3rd, Nuge's hat-trick strike, then sliding away in glory

- Wes slaloming through about 3 defenders with a mazy dribble at the end

- Above all, consistently high quality football against good opponents (Hull are much better than Burnley, I'd say)

A most enjoyable afternoon!

I was impressed with Knocky - that boy's got the X factor (not the terrible singing kind). I think Pearson was right to ease him in slowly but now he must start regularly.

The break for the third goal was class too.

Wasn't nervous about today at all, have every confidence in Leicester at home, another great home performance, definitely the best performance of the season so far.

Nugent deserves praise for the hat-trick, as someone said it was the perfect hat-trick, but today is all about Anthony Knockaert for me. Knockaert is seriously incredible, the kid has so much flair it's unreal, never seen a player like it in a Leicester shirt, he has so much confidence in his ability, when we passed him the ball the amount of confidence everyone gained from him was great to see aswell, Knockaert was everywhere today, incredible performance.

Also impressed with the central of midfield, thought Matty James played a blinder today, really impressed with him, broke down attacks, linked well with Drinkwater and the strikers. Drinkwater aswell controlled things when James got subbed, defensively he looked much better in the second half. While the defence was incredibly strong, De Laet, St Ledger, Morgan and Konchesky hardly did anything wrong, goal was sloppy and there was a few heart in mouth moments, but Konchesky played a consistent game, Morgan and St Ledger dominated and De Laet had a great second half.

All we need now is an away win, the team has confidence and we haven't put in a proper bad performance yet.

Well done Leicester!!!

Well said, glad you praised James as I thought he was good when he was on.

Love Knocky, can't remember enjoying watching one player in a city shirt so much.

Yep no problem Babylon, just stating how I saw the game and I glad you agree.

Thought James was more than good, I thought he was excellent, you could see all the work he was doing, the way he dismantled attacks and linked with all the players around him was a joy to watch, like Drinkwater he is inconsistent but today he was excellent throughout in my opinion, until getting subbed.

I think everyone loves Knocky, never seen a player like it at Leicester, he is a joy to watch, has so much flair it's unreal, came home and told my Dad he needs to come to a Leicester match soon, just to see this kid play. Incredible performance, the confidence we had from him on the ball, put a real smile on my face.

Massive respect and a big well done to Pearson. Under a lot of pressure and he got everything spot on today. Tactically, mentally, tempo.

Nice to see the lads dominate for pretty much the whole match.

Big Wes pulling out stepovers (that actually worked!) at the end was boss, as was Steve Bruce being sent off. Funny as fúck when he got told he couldn't sit where he originally went :D

Where is everyone that went to the game today?

That was the most pleasing thing for me the dominance the ball retention was brilliant.

Thoroughly deserved win today, was worried just before half time though that it would be like Blackburn where we dominated and didn't get what we deserved.

We needed to come out the blocks quickly and we did, got the early goal, and it could have been 3 or 4 before they equalised.

It seemed too easy for them to score though, once again we should have been well in control but didn't put the ball in the net enough and paid for it. They made a couple of other openings before half time and we make these errors at both end we'll continue to be punished away from home.

We played some lovely stuff and didn't lose heart for too long at 1-1. We passed the ball well as a team but Knocky in particular bossed it. One criticism was I thought we were forced out wide too easily, and once again despite some decent crossing it often came to nothing. That was of course until Nugent shut me up with his second.

After half time it seemed pretty similar, we dominated possession and should have scored a couple more, we put in decent corners all game and won headers but there weren't enough on target.

Nugent can be very pleased with his days work and it's looking like he's getting back to form. I do worry about our other strikers though and our general inability to kill games off and score more when we've evidently been on top throughout.

It's the first time I've sat in the family stand for about 10 years and it's officially better than the Kop. Almost everyone was sitting down but a large number got involved in several chants when L and K were loud enough. It's sad to see the East Stand so empty these days though, another poor attendance and it's not really good enough for this club. The Thais may well say the ticket prices are just good business but they're never going to be very popular if things continue as they are.

It didn't seem to bother my cousin though, his first game was a positive experience, he enjoyed the match and the atmosphere (he even said 'it's so loud' when our fans got going at one point)so hopefully he'll want to go back again.

I think he summed it up better than I can after 10 minutes 'The orange team are rubbish aren't they. The blue ones are good though!' lol

Well done to Pearson, I don't know whether his job was on the line today but if it was he's saved it and then some.

At last a performance to silence the critics. Perhaps some of you will now get of the players and managers back and back the team.

Oh wait I forgot we have 2 away games coming up and the doom and gloom merchants will be having another field day.

Yay! Ey-i-ey-i-ey-i-oh, up the football league we go! It looked good today from the comments I've read on here and although the goals looked like meat and drink on SSN's goal highlights for Nuge and the Hull marking dreadful, so what?! I heard Knocky was causing pandamoneum in the Hull ranks! What was Bruce protesting about to get himself send to the stands?! Was he calling NP "Judas" or something, along with the Hull fans?? Onwards and upwards :scarf:

I thought Danny Drinkwater was outstanding today, he totally bossed the midfield. Great hat-trick from Nugent and fantastic atmosphere. Loving the Steve Bruce incident.

"Where's your Brucey gone, where's your Brucey gone"?
