5waller5 Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 A weak excuse. If you want to support someone, give him a standing ovation, you don't turn negativity into positivity. Not an excuse ... it's a very common thing in football .... a player that is subbed seemingly against all logic and the fans boo. It's not a "new low" it's a common occurrence in all grounds.

Guest Col city fan Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 I dread to think what the previous low was, tutting loudly, muttering to ones self, not clapping loudly enough after winning a thrown in? The spurs fans did it today when AVB took off Defoe. Very publically.

Guest Col city fan Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 Two new lows in one day! Dark days indeed for football. It's happened for as long as I can remember Mike?
Babylon Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 I dread to think what the previous low was, tutting loudly, muttering to ones self, not clapping loudly enough after winning a thrown in? Tutting loudly is my speciality!!
fleckneymike Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 It's happened for as long as I can remember Mike? You must be mistaken Col, Mike the Metal Ed seems like a trust worthy fellow and if he maintains that todays moderate booing was a new low, then a new low it must have been.
Jakemoore Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 I think it's fairly obvious now that we're not clinical enough despite the fact we have scored in every game this season. I know that sounds ridiculous but we haven't been winning by big margins and we've lost a few where our performance warranted so much more!
AoWW Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 Tutting loudly is my speciality!! You're not the only one... I know a certain other FTer who's well-versed in tutting!
Unabomber Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 Holy shit just saw Whitbreads red card and there is no way the second foul is a yellow!!! fking incompetent ref shock
Leicesterpool Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 Disappointing to be honest, Watford deserved all three points they played really well. We looked awful to be honest didn't come into the game until we were 0-2 down. Nigel's subs were weird taking Knocky off! Chaos on the train coming back, the train terminated at Northampton meaning fans had an extra change there. Also Zak Whitbread was on board the train coming back.
lestajigs Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Suprised no one has mentioned Harry Redknapps name in a knee jerk reaction yet... No only you
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Alright, I'm obviously going to bow to the experience of others, obviously in 11 years (non-consecutive) as a season ticket holder I've heard this kind of thing before, but not for a while. I honestly thought we'd moved on, and were ready to start giving the manager a bit of trust, especially now we're no longer bottom half of the second tier also-rans. Some people have to make themselves heard I suppose, even when it defies logic. AK wasn't even looking effective anyway.
deanolegend1989 Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 But this is not so relevant when you're creating more chances than the opposition and not scoring more than them. I'm not saying that's happened today, but it's happened a few times. We're wasteful in front of goal, Ive no doubt about that, and I think we need better finishers than the ones we've got, Nugent aside. I think it's vital in the long run that we bring in someone who can finish some of the chances we have been missing. It's true we've been sloppy at the back in our defeats, but for some of them it's also sounded like we've not got started until it was too late. Today, it's obvious we didn't start well and we didn't against Palace and Wolves either. So that is more than just conceding sloppy goals, we're not putting our stamp on the game early enough. The thing is, we've looked unstoppable in the games I've seen us when we've really gone for it. But then at other times we've not been going full throttle with full determination and that's when we've looked poor. Some people saying today that we didn't look 'up for it', I wonder why that is. Do they think they're better than they are? Or are they, like Nugent said, 'scared' of the expectation? It's obvious we need a couple of players, for me 1 needs to be up front and we need a defender. And Pearson obviously got his tactics wrong today. But it seems to me our best way of playing is really going at teams from the off, we look a completely different side with the bit between our teeth. I totally agree we have been alot better when were up and at teams. For example Hull we looked brilliant and didnt give them a sniff. However what I think our problem is, when its 0-0 its 50/50 whoes going to win the game, purely because whoever scores first will most likely win the game - This is not a statistic that should be happening for a team aiming to get the Auto's spot. We should be scoring first more often, good teams score first and cruise out games(typical man utd/man city at home style). Now ok we cant always play well, score bagfuls and hammer teams etc but on days like this, a promotion winning team would keep it tight and knick a 0-0(or maybe even a 1-0 win) not go 2-0 down as always and scramble too late! We have 5 losses already but 1 draw? that for me shows we either play well and win or give ourselves a mountain due to careless play and dont have enough. In games where we attack from the off and DONT get the luck or the breakthrough we should be sure safe at the back...get in at half time 0-0. re group and give us a chance to win the game 1-0 rather than giving a monstorous task to comeback. Thats my point, we need to be better at 0-0/1-0 down(not going to 2-0) to make sure were staying in the game when NOT playing well! I have no doubt when in full flow we play good football and can unlock teams when we get going and IMO whilst Vardy has shown signs of not being clinical - 1-0 down away at both Blackburn and Boro to keep composure and score equalisers shows he has something, and we all know Nugent is capable. It just when were not playing well, we need a backbone to grind out draws/wins. In our playoff season, we were very methodical. We have a better team this year IMO however we were very solid that season, Hobbs/Brown worked well and Morrison and Tunchev all 4 were good at reading the game and talking..alot of games that season we didnt play particulary well but got the result(Reading away was a great example).. Doesnt happen this season so much, its more we play well and win or its more equal and we cant do the dirty stuff you need to just stay 0-0..Simple as that In my opinion. Morgan is class, but possibly needs a bit of help. SSL would be good enough but hopefully as well another CB in Jan to sure it up(another DM/CM to sure it up take the balls off the defenders and keep the ball a bit better).
Leicesterpool Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 I didn't think our support was good as it normally was today, we were nosier than the home supporters but still wasn't its best.
RonnieTodger Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Outsinging Watford is like outdressing a tramp.
inckley fox Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Some people already knew there was, some people said we'll have bad games, some people said we're going to lose games, some people don't think we're the finished article or expect us to be perfect. Nobody is sweeping amything anywhere. I've not been on here celebrating like we're already promoted, just like I'm not going to act like its a sodding disaster being 4th and losing two games on the trot. As I said when we were top, the league is and will probably continue to be exceptionally tight. All teams will have good and bad patches. Agreed.
Jacnah Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 The kind of game you need to win if you're serious about automatic promotion. The kind of game you need to at least draw if you're serious about play offs. Another game where Waghorn doesn't score. Bringing him on is becoming self defeating. Knocky has lost his mojo. Maybe he is more Ryan Smith than Ryan Giggs afterall. Thank fula we have Nugent because without him we would be soundly within the bottom half. Not sure if you were at the game but I was and I think he made a positive impact when he came on.
Mack Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Waghorn's approach play this season has been very good. His finishing has been equally terrible.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Knockaert is becoming overrated or over relied on i think. Usually lacks the aqareness of the killer pass, holds onto the ball then gets tackled
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Chaos on the train coming back, the train terminated at Northampton meaning fans had an extra change there. Also Zak Whitbread was on board the train coming back. Putting two and two together from those facts, I think we can all see who was to blame for the unspeakable chaos of an extra change of train.
southwest fox Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Pearson nos whats needed ? JUST GET ON WITH IT BEFORE WE START SINKING ANT FURTHER DOWN THE TABLE !!!!!!
Super_horns Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Outsinging Watford is like outdressing a tramp. Yes true..its not hard! Thought we did enough to win as our performance was pretty decent but as I said elsewhere you were certainly out of form performance wise which helped. You'll be up around the top 6 I am certain though with that quality in the squad. Cardiff only just beat us when we had 9 men and Middlesborough weren't that great - we had a bit of bad luck with a sending off against them. Its the usual Championship!
