marko Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Another goal this evening for 'fans favourite' Marlon King.. Number 11 for the season. In a very poor Brum side. It was a chuffin' penalty. Not like he waltzed through their defence ala Messi and Ronaldo.

Tommy G Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Maroon King is quality despite his rancid history. Would get us up if we signed him. He's playing with shit players as well at brum
Danno Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Maroon King is quality despite his rancid history. Would get us up if we signed him. He's playing with shit players as well at brum Not really shit - Lovendranks, Redmond, Burke, Fahey etc Good player though, wouldn't mind him here but all the moral brigade would be in uproar
Fox92 Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Maroon King is quality despite his rancid history. Would get us up if we signed him. He's playing with shit players as well at brum I've always thought he is a good player, especially at this level. Remember being impressed with him when we drew with Coventry 1-1 and he scored, his movement that day was very good.
fleckneymike Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 He is a recidivist criminal. To quote the Guardian just after he'd been released in 2009 "Chasing two women along a road with a belt and buckle wrapped around his right fist and then approaching a woman for "no apparent reason" and spitting at her - offences committed in 2003 and 2005 before his move to Watford – did not seem to trouble fans of the Hornets? Or fans of Hull, Wigan or Middlesbrough, his later clubs? At what point does enough become enough?" It's also worth remembering that he was jailed for a sexual assault and assault he does not admit committing. He is not a reformed man because he doesn't admit to having done anything wrong.

Absolutely. He's subhuman scum, and I wouldn't want the club to have anything to do with him. To anyone who thinks he'd be a good signing, when you hand over your money to the club, do you really want it to end up lining the pockets of a serial woman beater? Think about how many thousands he must be paid a week, and all the disgusting things he's done, before suggesting we should sign him.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 Personally I couldn't give a **** if he's good at his job or not, hes a sick human being.

Well said. I wouldn't be able to enjoy a single goal he scored for Leicester or a single game he played knowing that I was contributing to his wages. We're fourth for god's sake, if you think we need a new striker then I'm sure given our position in the table we can find a good player who isn't so morally repugnant.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 Christ.. A 'repugant' 'sick human being' and 'sub-human scum'! I notice King's last offence was 2009. Do any of you know whether he's repented of his sins and has now become an all-round good guy? No? Neither do I. I do know however, that he's a good striker at this level and now has 11 more goals than Waghorn. That's all I know about him.

We're fourth, we can afford to sign a good Championship striker if you think we need one, but one who doesn't have a record of being such an odious ****. Still it's a pointless argument because I think there's no chance of Pearson signing him.

You know he is a recidivist criminal with a history of attacking women. You know he has previously (2003) launched an admitted unprovoked physical assault on a women where he hit here in the face. You know that in the same attack he chased two women down the street with a belt wrapped around his fist. You know he launched an unprovoked assault on another woman (2006) after she objected to him slapping her on the bottom. He then spat directly into her face infront of two police officers. You know his last attack on a woman included sexual assault and her receiving a broken nose. You know he is now on the sex offenders register. You know the Judge, when sentencing King, said 'You have shown not a hint of shame for your disgraceful and arrogant behaviour'. That is what you know Col. You think he is a good goal scorer. There is a world of difference between the two.
GingerrrFox Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 Marlon King is a ****ing scumbag and I would have no hesitation in fighting the **** 1 on 1 in front of all those women he abused and kicking the shit out of him for them as a form of real justice. How clubs can continue to employ someone like him when "normal" people who have committed his crimes would be left to rot without a job is beyond me. I take exception to anyone saying they would want him at our club, do you have no morals? He's on the sex offenders list and has abused women regularly, that doesn't make you a man, that makes you a coward. But anyway back to the topic. I LOVEEEE WAGHORN! Now thats a footballer.
Aus Fox Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 Marlon king seriously???? I would prefer another 10 years in the championship then promotion with King. At some point we need to realise football is a game, a great game with passion and enormous importance to many people's lives but still a game, we have many families with young children who idolize our best players, usually the top goal scorer is the player the kids want on their back and to grow up to be just like. Football clubs have a duty at times to look beyond what a player can do on the pitch. Some players make mistakes and attempt to make right what they have done, but serial offends who show no remorse should not be given the privallage to run out on a football field to be adoured by thousands and paid a fortune. Just my opinions....

I know that Lee Hughes, for example, at Notts County, became loved by their fans. He was imprisoned for causing death by dangerous driving.

I think the difference is that what Hughes did was still fundamentally an accident, whereas King is actually a malicious bastard.

I know he is a convicted criminal with a history of unprovoked attacks on women.

Captain... Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 Don't get me wrong... Of course I don't condone King's wrongdoings. But what do the Brum fans think of him I wonder? I know that Lee Hughes, for example, at Notts County, became loved by their fans. He was imprisoned for causing death by dangerous driving. Lee Hughes made a massive error in judgement in drinking whilst drunk and fleeing the scene of a crime. There was no malice in his actions. He was punished and, hopefully, now a reformed character. King has shown repeated aggressive behaviour to women and despite numerous convictions seems incapable of changing his ways. I do sincerely hope he is a reformed character and his mended his ways but I doubt it.
sdb Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 Go on... I probably can't really. Let's just say he didn't strike me as a particularly chilled out character. Worry for him once he's out the game. Good striker though, although I wouldn't want him anywhere near us.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 December 2012 Posted 1 December 2012 To be fair, given the strength of anti-feeling for Marlon King I'll now shut mi gob.
