Captain... Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Think i went to one game in the pens aged 7. Too young to remember much. I fooking hate people who bring their fooking kids to the fooking football, a 7 year old can't add to the fooking atmosphere, shouldn't be in the fooking ground, fooking young coonts. You can't stand in front of a fooking 7 year old as the fooking short arses can't fooking see, even if they fooking stand, same with dwarves, fook 'em too. Fooking 7 year olds normally bring fooking sweets too fooking coonts, can't sing with a fooking sweet in your mouth. You're not supposed to fooking swear around fooking kids either, fooks sake!!! Anyway they're too fooking young to remember anything!!! If I had it my way I would be the only fooking coont in the ground, then I could stand where I want and fooking sing what I want!!!

The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 wooooosh ...... Not at all, i understood exactly what he was getting at.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Know what you're saying. But likewise when i pay handsomely i dont expect to have my day ruined by being made to sit. Obviously someone has to give way. At home games its easier you know where you buy your seat determines whether you sit or stand. Away games though you should be there for one thing only, to make a bloody loud noise Confused, why buy a ticket for a venue that enforces sitting then (all football stadiums)
Bugg Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 I accept peoples decision to sit, one thing that riles me though is someone jabbing me in the back to sit down before I even get a chance to do it myself. It isn't like I've been standing up for ages, its literally straight after the kick off.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Confused, why buy a ticket for a venue that enforces sitting then (all football stadiums) Because 9/10 times you're able to stand. You know this You'll find i didnt write in the leeds post match thread because i didn't go because I know its pretty unlikely you're able to stand. Certainly impossible to stand unchallenged
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 That's two of us Davie my lad. Us over 60's should NOT be allowed to support an up and coming club like Leicester City. Perhaps we should go to Leicester Fosse instead? Perhaps we veteran supporters should quit, and keep our happy memories to ourselves. After all the players we remember most are old uns like us. Sad to think that today's youngsters, are tomorrow's old folk.

You know this You'll find i didnt write in the leeds post match thread because i didn't go because I know its pretty unlikely you're able to stand. Certainly impossible to stand unchallenged We had unreserved seating and most of the end were stood without problems with stewards. Either they've had a lot of complaints about the way they treat away fans or we just got lucky this year.

Voll Blau Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 It's all about fooking control........ The authorities love reserved seating because it helps stop like minded supporters gathering together and helps identify offenders in our compliance obsessed society. Unreserved seating would be a boon for the fans, allowing them to gather in suitable areas with their friends, sitters in one area (the front..... ) standers further back and no one in inappropriate areas wanting to sit where the rest are standing or vice versa. Common sense will sort it out in due course. Sadly this gives the authorities less control and they are frightened of fans getting together and causing 'trouble', so fans have to but up with all the stewarding shit which spoils the experience for many. The reality is that the rules are oppressive and restrictive, deliberately so to make it easy for the stewards/police to exercise control when and as they wish. As usual the enforcement of these rules are completely random, standing is tolerated, particularly when carried out 'en mass' proving that the safety and comfort of the fans is not the issue.......... Bang on the money.
Jacnah Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 I do yes. Although, in another way, we have a lot of teenagers as well. Most of our vocal fans seem to be youngsters, there's just not many 24-45s anymore. they're the poor buggers who cant afford it i should think, especially with young families

Weller in Tights Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 52 yrs old Still stand every game and still sing. Season ticket holder that goes some away games (my lad plays on Saturday mornings in a Midland league so I dont get to as many City games as I would like). Am I allowed to still go away matches???? Can one of the critical youngsters please tell me as I am so old I need you to help me out here. Oh and those same youngsters, who 'supposedly' do all the singing. Can you please try to be more imaginative. Oh please dont get me wrong. There is still room for singing, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, repeatedly. In fact when done well I think it brings back the old spirit of intimidating the opposition team and fans. (Oh dear opened a can of worms there !! do we really want to intimidate?? -yes is the answer by the way) But god some of the mundane drum led rubbish you lot do, lets face it, it's crap. Also, Please, Please slow down when singing 'When you're smiling', IT'S NOT A FVCKING RACE !! An old git that will be standing and singing on Saturday, hoping for a goal fest against Barnsley.
Thracian Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 There needs to be a lot more sympathy and understanding for the over 60s. First recognition that anyone who's supported City for over 50 years has to be at least an 'appeth short of a shilling and suffering from a hard-to-break habit, just like smoking. Then you should ask where would they be if not at the football and the answer is probably at home watching Matt Le Tissier's greatest goals or trying to remember what the wife once looked like in mini-skirt, stockings and suspenders instead of ankle socks, track-suit trousers and a twin-parachute bra.. As for singing, half the over-60's can't hear a thing - and neither will you youngsters when you've been married 45 years. The other half will have stood smoking on the Popular side til their lungs have the capacity of a soapsud bubble and any sound uttered from their mouths resembles that from a homeless shelter at first light and is definitely not to be encouraged. As for gesticulatory or demonstrative cheering many over 60's can't or daren't lift their arms above their trouser zips due to their weak bladders...and if they do they pull a muscle they didn't know they had and have to have a team of 15 medics fussing all over them and getting in the way of all the fans sat around them. So, really, it's important the old folk aren't encouraged to move while the game's on in case they all end up smelling like - well, I'm not going to hurt his feelings. Besides, most are totally knackered from climbing the stand to the JJ seats that they either fall asleep before the game starts or spend the whole afternoon massaging their knees so they can walk back down again at the end...the upward and downward hikes being their major physical challenge of each week or two and something their doctors encourage them not to give up because it's good for their circulation. Finally if old timers don't celebrate City goals with leaps of uninhibited joy it's either cos of all the above or because they can't see the goals let alone the ball going into them them. Their eyesight;'s so bad some have even tried to park on the water by the rowing club cos it seemed like the flatest surface around. Another thought the electronic turnstiles were innovative - and tried to get in with his pensioners bus pass. So come on folk, cut em some slack and just remember - their subdued demeanour is entirely understandable. They did their cheering when City played proper football - in a proper league! .
Dan Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Standing is do-able at 99% of grounds but even when you do - anyone can agree that it's better when the whole end is stood rather than just a couple of rows at the back. Stu, your attitude is wrong for me. I'm well aware that we agree on a lot of things in this kind of situation but there's no need for some of this at all, especially about what people eat, Jesus. I accept some people would rather sit but I think the authorities really do need to acknowledge that standing does go on, even if it is against the rules. They need to acknowledge all-seaters aren't working as well as they think. Safe standing, almost a generic shout (which is a good thing) but would solve so much IMO.
theboxman1986 Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 I'm sorry but this just seems very petty. Why is this even an issue? Fact of the matter is as long as they're at the game let them support how they want regardless of age or whatever. If they want to bring sandwiches let them, if they wanna sing and stand or sit and analyze let them. As long as you are SUPPORTING Leicester that's all that matters.
pSinatra Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 what about a designated area of the ground just for the oldies? Stannah stairlifts, heated seats & a blanket. A pouch attached to the seat in front to keep their sandwiches, a defibrillator at the end of each row & a dedicated St Johns ambulance. All behind a +2.5 prescription glass screen so they can actually follow the football.

Mike Oxlong Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 It's the people who sit in those chairs with wheels that really bug me. Get to sit right up close to the action and ideally placed for a quick exit at the end of the game.
