Fox92 Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Really hope not. I might dislike certain clubs, but at the end of the day I'm a football fan, and don't like seeing this sort of thing.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 No clubs go out of business these days. Pompey didn't and they were in deep shit.
Corky Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 I don't see why anybody is taking any pleasure in this at all, you don't know that Leicester will never be in this predicament. Coventry laughed at us going down to League One, guess where they are now. Neil Warnock did as much as he could to change the rules regarding administration and look what happened to him at Palace. I hope Coventry get out of this because it's not fair on the fans and I certainly worry about the possibility of it happening to us. I agree but their fans were not exactly sympathetic to us a decade ago, so you can understand some reactions.
ealingfox Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 No clubs go out of business these days. Pompey didn't and they were in deep shit. This. There's almost always something.
Mark_w Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 I agree but their fans were not exactly sympathetic to us a decade ago, so you can understand some reactions. I'm not really saying I don't understand it, I just don't agree with it.
Craig Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 There's always a first and I sincerely hope it's not Coventry, or Forest or Derby for that matter. Football isn't football without rivalry (even if we don't care...).
Kitchandro Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 They'll be fine. I mean they'll be shit, they've still got years of pain left, but they'll still exist. We all know they won't fold, whenever a club is in financial trouble we get to this stage where everyone thinks the end is nigh, but they always keep getting away with it.
Captain... Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Makes you wonder how ACL are going to maintain the stadium as a going concern without the money that Cov are paying.owe, it's not like there's host of potential tenants waiting for Cov to leave. I thought the problem was they were losing money on every game because of the costs to host a match and Cov are then not paying them, so they are losing money for the privilege of hosting Cov matches.
Libertine Dream Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 No clubs go out of business these days. Pompey didn't and they were in deep shit. Chester and Halifax off the top of my head
Kitchandro Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Chester and Halifax off the top of my head He should probably have said medium to big sized clubs.
stix Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 "Surely there is no other viable alternative!!. There are not any other local grounds which either: hold enough people; or be in the proximity for CCFC fans to travel to. The club can not play at any other ground and expect to get 10,000 fans there" 10000 fans!
MPH Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Do they not have any legends to help them in a similar way to what Gary and Emile did for us? umm... Well i guess there's Steve Ogrisovic ( as mentioned) then umm.. there's Brian Kilcline... and David Speedy.... They're buggered. EDIT: forgot about trevor Peake and Brian borrows. Then there's David Busst ( the leg man) and Richard shaw!
Mickey O'Neil Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Raising £1.1million will be tough. They'll have to sell all their players. Not sure where they'll get the other £1million from though. lol lol lol
Alexikokopops Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Raising £1.1million will be tough. They'll have to sell all their players. Not sure where they'll get the other £1million from though. HONK
Mark_w Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 I wonder whether our resident Leicester and Villa fan would like this... http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/23305-Coventry-and-Nuneaton
ealingfox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 He should probably have said medium to big sized clubs. But what about Cov?
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Somewhere, Gary Mabutt is snickering to himself.
Leicesterpool Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Coventry are going bust! I've heard a whisper that Welford Road is on the list for them to ground share with!
Soar Fox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Coventry are going bust! I've heard a whisper that Welford Road is on the list for them to ground share with! They might as well ground share with Friar Lane they MIGHT be able to sell out then.
stix Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 I've heard a whisper that Welford Road is on the list for them to ground share with! Never in a month of sundays.
jonthefox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 I wonder whether our resident Leicester and Villa fan would like this... http://www.skybluest...ry-and-Nuneaton Good to see the drongs still can't spell Leicester.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Coventry are going bust! I've heard a whisper that Welford Road is on the list for them to ground share with! No idea how they'd segregate it, Welford Road is in no way designed for that. The preferred option is Coventry's own rugby ground in the city. They're talking about doing a Withdean to it by building three temporary stands to bump the capacity up to around the 15,000 mark, more than adequate for Coventry for the foreseeable future.
Guesty Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Coventry are going bust! I've heard a whisper that Welford Road is on the list for them to ground share with! Absolutly no chance. Tigers and City can't play at home on the same day so how are they going to fit 3 teams in on 1 weekend. Just won't happen for so many reasons.
jonthefox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 There not seriously suggesting they 'ahem' rent the KP are they?. http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/23295-All-Ricoh-alternative-ground-comments.
RonnieTodger Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Absolute farce if they do move. A monumental waste of money on the Ricoh Arena, and just throwing away money buy paying such a high rate of rent. For theirs, money's and football's sake I hope they stay at the Ricoh. Beyond madness if they can't.
