Who is your favourite all time LCFC Player

Muzzy for me although Matt Elliott runs him a close second.

I bloody loved TC as well - £500k from a Malaysian team, prob one of the best signings we've ever made.

I get a bit misty eyed thinking about that side :(

Exactly the same here.

Having been a City fan for 64 years, I fully understand why most of the players named so far were favourites with the fans. BUT there has been one player whose brilliance, indeed whose magic has never been superceded by any other player to 'wear the shirt', and who, for those like me, that were priviliged to see him play, was as exciting a player as any other, was wee Davie (bandy legs) Gibson.

There are approx 1000 individuals who from 1884 to date have represented this Club and of course, you can only chose a favourite from those players you have seen.

However, I still remember the deadly left-foot of Arthur Rowley, the skills of left winger Derek Hogg, and Albert Cheeseborough, the thunderbolt crosses from Howard Riley, and Willie Gardiner had no equal (so it seemed) but then we had Ken Keyworth. The two best keepers in the world played for Leicester, the incomparable Gordon Banks, until the even more incomparable Peter Shilton took over.

Half-backs like Colin Appleton, Frank McLintock, Matt Elliott, and Centre halves like Tony Knapp, Ian King, Steve Walsh, Full Backs like Willie Cunningham, Pontus Kamark, John Sjoberg, Peter Rodrigues,

Graham Cross, Keith Weller, Neil Lennon, Steve Walsh,Gary Llineker, Muzzy, Dave McLaren, David Nish, Casey Keller -Honestly I could write a book but that's already been written. It's called 'Fossils and Foxes'! Worth its weight in gold!

Stocky fox, really enjoyed your post!! My first game in December 1968 was against Man Utd and we won 2-1 with Nish and Fern the scorers (saw Best, Charlton and Law et al that day as well, very special memory). So many good players to choose from eh? Worth the entrance money to watch Wortho warm up, Weller a huge favourite of mine. We can sometimes just presume modern players are better but there were tougher different times when you hear of Rowley and Chandler etc. always got 100% out of Walsh even if he was having a bad game so he was always a hero to me. Lennon is a good call for our current situation and would be great protction between our midfield and defence. Muzzy was our great to watch flair player and it's been a huge gap until the arrival of Knockhardt and Marhez. Yes there's some mistakes but isn't it great to see someone like Knockhardt provide that entertainment value! For the first time since the O'Neil years I feel an optimism and team spirit that could take us on a ride we should just sit back, get behind our team come what may and enjoy! Huge room for optimism.

One of Izzet, Lennon or Parker. Can you believe we really had those 3 together in midfield? That's a top 4 or 5 midfield right there.

Cant seperate 3 players.

G.Cross, Davie.Gibson, and one that might just squeeze it, if pushed......Keith Weller.

Those were the outfield players. Now then we had top 3 goalkeepers Banks, Shilton, Wallington, and I wont split them.

most successfull, I would love to say the players either under Gillies, or Bloomfield, but to be fair,

MONs boys steal that, any of his players could steal the limelight, from elliot, izzet, lennon, walsh, parker, etc.

but Weller for me overshadows, all. RIP, a fox and blue downto his lovely london bones.

Lennon for me, always played the spare man, the outlet ball and had incredibly underrated passing success.

Izzet I remember saying around the millennium that he could walk into most sides in the top half of the premiership, class act, but seemed out of sorts once Lennon went.

For sheer effort and determination over skill it would have to be Dickov.

Lenny was a great player but a bit of a knob off the field, Muzzys knee wasn't good towards the end of his time at city but he always tried for us.

Best player ever was obviously Junior Lewis.

I was at that same game v Utd in December 68..my second game.. My first was away to Spurs in 67.. They had gone 43 home games unbeaten, we had just signed Frank Large, Peter Shilton was 17 and playing in one of his first games, we won 1-0, scorer Alan Tewley.. Magical memories... My favourite player.. Frank Worthington, followed closely by Keith Weller and Lenny Glover!!..

So difficult to choose. Weller for wing play. Clark and Lineker for poaching. Banks for his many wonderful saves, He was from an era where Goalkeeping was a natural ability.

Nish an Elliott were class at the back. But just to pick one it would have to be Walsh. For the reason he played with the pride of the Club and Fans in his Heart.

His Blood I'm sure ran blue in those days. That for me makes him the stand out Leicester player.

At basketball presumably?

The boy Lineaaker.

Always loved Steve Lynex as well. Decent wingers always stay in my memory. To see one beat a man and put a decent cross in is one of the best things about the game for me.

of who I have seen live ... used to love Stevie Lynex but has to be Lineker

of the greats from before Frainkie Wortho and Tights Weller

Weller for me a real game changer.

I agree Weller was the complete player with the skill and verve to outfox any opposition player of his time. He would turn on a sixpence as we used to say and show a clean pair of heels to all and sundry when he had a mind to. A real game changer. I doubt I will see his like again in a City Shirt. R.I.P. Keith.

Got to be muzzy IZZETT. Chanting in the garden as I played football here is IZZETT, he shoots.... Is it going to be a goal? It is! Muzzy IZZETT scores again! Will never forget that goal vs gillingham(?), the overhead kick!.

Got two shirts signed personally by him too. The black kit with the blue stripe is on of them, loved that kit!

Muzzy for me...but honourable mention to Tommy Wright...just because as a young lad oooh tommy wright was my very first chant at filbert street.

We must be the same age... Completely agree

Great to see a few mentions for Tommy Wright, not many players can say that they've inspired a haircut!
