Who sends a horse? Crazy people. Clearly an old picture of the hospital back when you could get some fresh air was called for. Ken probably remembers it like that anyway!

**KEN UPDATE**

Apparently he's not doing too badly, they managed to contact his brother so he's got somewhere to go when he gets out and there's a possibility he may be discharged today.

Hopefully he receives his stable of ecards before he leaves.

Seems like 21stC is offline and I've just been told about this.

Planning on taking him some goodies and a bit of friendship tomorrow afternoon visiting time.

Think 21stC said he might be out today( discharged)so might be worth checking if you have far to go,but a nice gesture.

A lovely gesture. Wish him well from us all.

I've PM'd him - will phone the ward tomorrow morning.

Seems like the decent thing to do rather than just click on an eCard he can't afford to read seeing as I can get there in person.

What does this mean?.. surely there is no cost to him for this?

If there is, considering the number of horses hes been sent we are going to need one hell of a whip round

I would assume as they are e.cards he would need the internet to view them, and that probably costs money, I don't know if their internal network is free, nor if they have accessible computers on the wards, to be honest I don't really know much fortunately I've not had cause to go for a long time, but I did wonder how Ken was going to receive them.

Had a little read about it before I sent mine, definitely said free and someone will hand deliver hopefully the next working day,and staff will see the message when they print it,inappropriate messages will not be printed........that's halved the worlkload from here then.

Online greetings

Send a free greeting to a friend or loved one who is a patient at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester General Hospital or Leicester Royal Infirmary.

One of our volunteers will hand-deliver your e-greeting. We aim to deliver your message by the next working day.

Delivery is only available between Monday and Friday. Any messages sent during the weekend or bank holidays will be delivered on the next working day. Please be aware that staff and volunteers will see your message when they print and deliver it.

Please make sure you include the patient's first and last name and ward if possible when you are filling out the form, so that our volunteers can ensure your e-greeting is delivered to the right patient.

Pretty obvious that they would deliver the messages. I think daggers was just trying to put everyone else's contribution down to make his look better. It's a shame someone has to try and ruin this overwhelmingly positive thread with such disgusting selfish behavior, but I guess that's daggers for you.

Sadly true.

No need for it whatsoever to just dismiss everyone elses efforts to send a message.

Thanl god Dave is making the effort to go in to prove how much more caring he is than the rest of us.

Bit harsh don't you think? Daggers is the only one on here who has said he will actually go in and visit Ken! Maybe he didn't read the link and went on whats in the thread as there was talk earlier about it costing money to access the internet and most have referred to them as e-cards.

Fair enough what he said was incorrect but you gotta give the guy credit for taking the time to visit someone he's probably never even met before!!

You 2 are like a pair of vultures, just looking to get a dig in whenever you can! I know Daggers is a contraversial character and is the first to get a dig in, but come on guys credit where its due!

This thread is about us all coming together to wish a member well during a time of ill health - Don't ruin it with petty digs and remarks!

Maybe a bit harsh.

There was no need for the original dig of 'better than an e card he cant afford to read' though.

Lot of people took a bit of time to send one, no need to belittle those efforts just because hes got time to visit during the day.

If you notice when he says im going to see him im the first on here to say what a great gesture it is. No need for the 'im making more effort than you' comment after. (Which was incorrect and ill informed as well)

Maybe it was an original dig, or as i said above maybe it was misguided by what had been said already in the thread.

What he actually said was "Seems like the decent thing to do rather than just click on an eCard he can't afford to read seeing as I can get there in person."

While that may suggest he's having a dig at others (i can see it) i could also just be that he's saying since he can get down, he'd rather do that than send an ecard!

Either way i think you both were harsh and had it been said by anyone other than daggers, you wouldn't have picked up on it!
