I am Rod Hull Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Tissues at the ready... Our 9/11 EDIT: Not really a 9/11 but maybe a Henry VIII dissolution of the monasteries
DMU Fox Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Tissues at the ready... Hate the pictures of Filbo smashed up last that. Wasn't the best of grounds, but it was OURS.
Father Ted Posted 25 April 2013 Author Posted 25 April 2013 Anybody have a picture of the team photo before the Atletico Madrid away leg?
StanSP Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 I searched for Filbert Street on Google and came across this beauty. Taken on the day of our historical match with Atletico Madrid apparently.
StanSP Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Panorama vs Ipswich, 8th Sept 2001: The last EVER match at Filbert Street.
smallpauldj Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Im sure this lad used to sit at the back of L1 looks like the guy of 2 pints of larger and packet of crisps The chap in question is called Clive Naggington. Might have the Surname spelt wrong but its pretty much it. i went school with him at Burleigh.
Harry - LCFC Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Wow, great pic. My favourite in this thread, thanks for posting.
Bayfox Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Some good pics here. Although the pulling down of filbo still hurts. Why oh why. If anyone can upload one for me it would be the shot from behind the goal of alan sheehans free kick at the shitty ground.
CKB Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Filbert Street Wasn't the original plans to have 3 other carling stands? (well similar anyhow) but the council threw it out hence why we moved?
rico Posted 26 April 2013 Posted 26 April 2013 Wow, great pic. My favourite in this thread, thanks for posting. Taken by my mate at Wembley 1992 play off final
Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 26 April 2013 Posted 26 April 2013 Still hurts to walk past the site. I remember my Uncle (Melvin) being the announcer for the games and getting to be in the box for a game. Fantastic memories!!!
flowwolf Posted 26 April 2013 Posted 26 April 2013 Still hurts to walk past the site. I remember my Uncle (Melvin) being the announcer for the games and getting to be in the box for a game. Fantastic memories!!! Apart from the very young I bet most of us would take back the old Filbo at a stroke. It was out spiritual home and so many great memories were wrapped up in it. Things have never been the same since. Yes it was a very old ground and all the minus that went with it , but can anyone say that the new ground has ever had the atmosphere that dear old Filbo had ? :(
cc_star Posted 26 April 2013 Posted 26 April 2013 Our 2nd home for a number of years! What a great thread.
shiv Posted 26 April 2013 Posted 26 April 2013 Some good pics here. Although the pulling down of filbo still hurts. Why oh why. If anyone can upload one for me it would be the shot from behind the goal of alan sheehans free kick at the shitty ground. Fairly sure I've got the video of that goal.
