shiv Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 we wont be promoted automatic with King & James in the center , back in the old days 2012 2013 season that was proven when we only won 3 in 17 matches they just aint strong enough , its a shame , we need a bigger harder thing in the middle I think you're missing the point. We've improved significantly with James & King in the middle. I don't think they are the problem, it's the amount of players we have in midfield. Looking at the teams that look like going up, they all play 5 in midfield which I think is probably the way to play nowadays. Having said that, I think you're right in saying we need someone stronger in midfield, because Drinkwater is too lightweight. I'd like to see someone stronger in our midfield in behind James & King.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 I'd hate for Kingy to go, he's the kind of players I want to see more of. Come through the youth and stick with us for many years.
jonthefox Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 Club legend ...................... lol Maybe not yet, but he's well on his way. I love me a bit of kingy.
DennisNedry Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 King is only 24 and already has over 200 appearances for the club... I'd love for him to do a Giggs/Scholes and stay here for his whole career.
Spiritwalker Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 After Wes Morgan, King is the last player we need to leave the club.
cjslcfc Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 Build the team around the spine. He is part of that spine along with James, Kasper, Morgan and Nuge/Wood

indierich06 Posted 15 May 2013 Posted 15 May 2013 that won 3 in 17 Did they only win 3 in 17? Why haven't you mentioned this before?
Harry - LCFC Posted 15 May 2013 Posted 15 May 2013 I would imagine Pearson won't be willing to sell unless for good money. Appears to like King and values his contributions. I'm not worried about losing him tbh, I wouldn't have thought he'd want to leave either, he clearly likes the club.
ADK Posted 15 May 2013 Posted 15 May 2013 King can actually control a football, we need more players like king.

Sousa was starting to build a team around him (King's form under Sousa was insane, that goal at Coventry being a particularly outrageous example), whilst Sven made him captain pretty quickly. His value is appreciated by every manager he's worked for.

dedlock Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 King may not always stand out but he always puts in a shift. It baffles me when posters suggest he goes missing in games, they seem unobservant, failing to notice the unselfish, defensive work he puts in. He may appear slight but he is strong in the tackle. The only disappointment is his goal tally this season...but not for want of trying!
Wymsey Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 Always loved King - puts his heart in doing his best (which, during many times last season, I questioned some of the other players as if they didn't). We need more homegrown players like him, who supports the club and play for the love of their main community club.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 that won 3 in 17 Of those 17: James only started the last eight games of the season Wood didn't start at Brighton Nugent didn't start against Bolton, Crystal Palace or Watford. In short, no.

morris1234 Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 Woah.... This thread.....has NOT turned into a 'Pearson is inept because' thread.... There is hope! I thought kingy was brilliant against watford, very composed! King is a player who is only as good as those around him. If he feels stable in the midfield and knows he won't have to sit and mop up for long periods in the game, then we see the best of his ability.
Walshy5 Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Dont know how true it is so dont shoot me down but a Qpr fan i know reckons hes heard theyre set to put a bid in.

Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Can't see him leaving for another championship team this time round. Maybe in 12 months if we're still in this league.
ian the fox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 looks like were rebuilding without King , things are looking up
