Guest Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 they say you should never go back , why did we snatch NP when sam alladyce was available look what he has done at west ham he has kept them up that all we want isnt it ... to stay in the premiership, any way look at lee clark , i was impressed with the way his team pass the ball around Sam Allardyce kept them in the premiership, but we weren't in the premiership so how can that be what we want?
theessexfox Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 1) He thinks he's staying. The board have said nothing and we have no idea what they're thinking. 2) Hopefully not the tactics which led to relegation form and finishing 6th in May. 3) Some of our best spells under Little came with Gary Coatsworth in the team, under Taylor with Akinbiyi in the team, but it didn't mean they were in some way central to the results. Vardy was poor when we were playing well and failed to take his chances to get back in the side thereafter, nearly costing us a win against Boro and quite possibly costing us two points against Cardiff. But I like your optimism. Hopefully you're right. 1.) I'm no mind-reader but it appears that the longer the close season goes on, the less the likelihood of Pearson going... general consensus on here, could be totally wrong. 2.) Hopefully not, I agree, but he must have something about him. 3.) True, however I believe Vardy contributes more than them, with his work rate, harrying defenders, working for his partner, etc. Maybe lacking in quality but helps the team in other ways, certainly a useful squad player for me. Hopefully I am right
Dickov22 Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Don't know for sure, all I know is that Poyet is Definately on the radar. With Pearson I was told that they wanted him, he wanted to come. With this, it's just they are interested....if Pearson does go, he is number 1 target. Pearson has had pressure like you would not believe on him since Christmas Last point: absolutely 100% spot on. Him and Shakey. Draining stuff.
Jace Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Always supported Pearson regardless this season but I am beginning to believe in the smoke in these Poyet rumours, my gut feeling is could maybe the players blame a lack of tactical support in the management this 2nd half of the season on their own downfall? Just putting yourself in the owners shoes wouldn't you have listened to the players opinions on why things have gone so downhill this season rather than just listening to the management? Just wondering if Pearson has lost a little faith from some of the players how many could have passed the buck back onto him as to why we have been on a downhill slope? I fear the owners maybe concidering the players are here to be a top 2 team but there isn't the tactical flair go to the next step. If it is true then it stinks of the Sousa situation all over again and it could be another 1 step foward and 2 steps back
Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Last point: absolutely 100% spot on. Him and Shakey. Draining stuff. What exactly the only pressure I am aware of is promotion? or is there something else that meets the eye?
Dickov22 Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Pressure to balance the books wherever possible, hence the rather odd loan deals- SSL, Futacs. Pressure to win matches, pressure that his job is hanging by a thread, the knowledge that his job was offered to Redknapp who turned it down Not ideal

Please, let's look for better managers if we change.
Jace Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 It's always cheaper to replace the manager than players - so yes, absolutely they will canvass opinion. Exactly I just think why else would Poyet be a target? He doesn't really fit the mold of what they have been looking for previously in a manager he is not the big name to bring in big name players or has the Championship promotion experience to do it all over again.

But the effort for the Forest game and play off games convinced me that the players were actually behind NP.

Agree, if true, it doesn't make sense. But then again, I think it's irrelevant anyway, as I don't think our petulant mardy arse is going anywhere, unless he decides to go - like when he ran off to hull.

I think they were more behind the occasion and trying to take the fortuitous chance they found themselves with - rather than getting behind Pearson.

Quite possibly. It's what makes football so great really ...... being able to speculate on this sort of stuff!

I think for Poyet to be suspended for breach of contract he has either been negotiating with our owners or Everton, think before the Forest match there might have been quite a rift between the players and Pearson wherever the last few games has been enough to seal the wounds time will tell
flowwolf Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 I have heard from an impecable source that Kenny Jacket has been approached and is keen to take over. The only stumbling block at the moment is over compensation to Millwall. You heard it here first .
5waller5 Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Has anyone had a look at the everton forums??? Do they think Poyet is going there????
wurmer Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Has anyone had a look at the everton forums??? Do they think Poyet is going there???? Fourth Official on twitter hasn't mentioned anything - he's normally spot on for info for Everton, even if less so for others.
Jace Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Even stranger then that Poyet would be suspended for talking to Everton, just can't understand why the owners would be doing this unless they believe that Pearsons lost the players respect because if he hasn't we should be well on course for a decent promotion attempt next season
Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Adrian Doyle â€@Saintady13 May Gus Poyet will be named the new Leicester City Manager from a reliable source you heard it here first #lcfc That tweet was from 4 days ago..

Libertine Dream Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Has he any history of posting reliable info? Well he tweeted that Palace have a chance of staying up next year with Zaha, so it seems unlikely
NeilLCFC Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 that's how the rumour starts. Someone from the daily mail will be scouting through the forum, see that comment without seeing the picture, Babylon will become 'a club source' and then it will make Sundays paper. By dinner time Sunday someone will have posted a new thread on here with a link to the article legitimising the original joke which we'll now start to believe. The Leicester public start crowding forums, and the phone in. The following day the merc prints the story as stringer heads off to Thailand to track down Top who releases a statement from his Leicester riverside apartment denying the rumour. No one believes him as fans dissect his statement word for word looking for hidden meaning and concluding that its a fact that Top spoke to Lennon behind Pearsons back, got found out and had to issue a statement covering his tracks. Finally Lennon denies any knowledge or contact with Leicester at a press conference revealing he's just signed a new contract extension, which fans assume means Celtic wanted him tied up so it must be true. This!
