scottthefox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Has he got any decent produce going? Scott Underwood likes this.
Monsell1976 Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 NO NO NO. I could even become a Pearsonite if this was on the cards. With you on this
teblin Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Hmm I'm not the biggest fan of the style but to be honest the times we have be successful whilst I have been a city fan is when we have been direct and not a passing side. Oneills team was very direct and scored a lot of goals off corners and free kicks. Micky Adams side that went up was pretty long ball and Brian littles team that went up had Roberts, Walsh and ormondroyd up top in the final. If it had been us up in the prem for 6 years playing that way there would be a lot less on here moaning about the style of play. He has just played to the strengths of the players he had and was able to sign.
MPH Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 At least he plays hoofball effectively which cannot be said of NP. I would take one or two seasons of that type of football to get us promoted from this league and then keep us in the prem then bin him for a manager that plays football the right way, I don't see West Ham fans complaining with that type of football. 100% agree. I have got to the stage where whatever it takes to get us promoted, them I am all for it. A team the size of Stoke enjoying 7 successive seasons of prem football.. I'm not sure we can take the moral high ground, here!

I DO wish people would read all the comment before coming out with red mist. firstly 120m pounds to any club in the prem from now on is not negligible. to anyone. and secondly no one said you cant enjoy football.. where did you jump to that conclusion? Read posts properly before commenting, eh?

I just don't get it, the horrific slump down the table included, I just don't see how scrapping it out in the bottom 5 with at least 16 nearly guaranteed losses, can compare for entertainment. I loved this season, highs and lows, I just don't get the "premiership at all costs" mentality.
seenitall Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 The love for average Nige versus Prem survival Pulis worries me - get a grip folks, he is way better than the idiot we have now. This love has gone too far - is it the grey hair, the trainers, the cheeky personality? What blinds people with Nige?
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 The love for average Nige versus Prem survival Pulis worries me - get a grip folks, he is way better than the idiot we have now. This love has gone too far - is it the grey hair, the trainers, the cheeky personality? What blinds people with Nige? An idiot that took us to a meagre 6th this season? Sounds quite an idiotic comment to me. Unless of course lower than 2nd place can only be regarded as a totally unacceptable failure? And that rather answers your last question too - What blinds me with Nige? Our league positions in the seasons he's had with us and the progress that I believe we are making.

Callabinho Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Are we still starting new manager threads, despite being told Nigel shall be the manager next season?
MPH Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Are we still starting new manager threads, despite being told Nigel shall be the manager next season? Unless I have missed a statement from the owners, when exactly has this been stated? The only definite statement has been from Stringer ( and even that's if you believe what he posts) Who said: Pearson to remain as manager... for now.
Corky Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Spend a lot to sack Pearson, get in a bloke who plays worse football and wastes even more money. No thanks.
ADK Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 If you were Pulis, why would you leave Stoke? has he been sacked?
Wymsey Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I don't think Pulis is the kind of manager that wants to answer Stringer's post-match questions, too.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I'm not a big fan of NP's "brand" of football, so you can be even more sure that I don't want Pulis here.ThisI hate Stoke almost as much as the red scum
paulsherwood1 Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 An idiot that took us to a meagre 6th this season. Sounds quite an idiotic comment to me. Unless of course lower than 2nd place can only be regarded as a totally unacceptable failure? And that rather answers your last question too - What blinds me with Nige? Our league positions in the seasons he's had with us and the progress that I believe we are making. Well, with the resources as NP's disposal, anything less than 2nd is a failure, yes. The only other acceptable result would be promotion by the play offs, but coming 6th and not getting promotion is no different end product to coming 20th. Also, I really fail to see this 'progress' we are making? Where? Up to January we were, but what progress have we made? How can anyone have any possible hope of promotion with the football we have been served up in the second half of the season? The shambolic away form has never been fixed, the only time NP had a decent away record was when he managed our 'championship standard' side out of league 1. Pulis may not be the answer, but as another poster said, his hoofball is a damn sight more successful than NP's! Anyone who thinks we play a passing game must be deluded!!!! Since the arrival of wood we are a one trick pony, and then for the last 15 mins ( when losing ) we chuck wes Morgan up front. Genius.
