Libertine Dream Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 To be fair. Looking through the time line they have a good strike rate.No they don't, he claims to have broke these transfers but if you look back very few of those claims are true. The worrying thing howerver is it does coincide with IndyKalia, whether you believe him or not
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 He is a dirty player, and would be suited to someone like Millwall or Leeds. That should help cheer Col up then
LCFC FOX Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Maybe Nigel is planning on using more than one formation this season? I trust Pearson to get it right and if he decides to bring in Karl Henry then he obviously thinks the hard tackling type midfielder is missing. Plus who cares what Wolves fans are saying? Look what we said about Kermorgant and now he is in talks with a premier league move to Fulham
kingfox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Look what we said about Kermorgant and now he is in talks with a premier league move to Fulham Just because he missed a penalty. Always thought he was decent up until that mistake. Literally I'm not joking either.
ealingfox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Depends on what system we play wouldn't want him in a 442 formation after king and james gelled nicely at the back end of the season Maybe the ball winner in a 4231 ? But that would more than likely mean dropping either King or James.

James Henry might be ok but I'm afraid Karl is awful! .......I've seen him about 7 times over the last 2 seasons as my dads a wolves fan and I honestly don't rate him, admitted we need a ball winner but preferably one who can actually play a bit too
Finn Claw II Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Karl Henry is the sort of player we need, whether he is the right tough tackling midfielder is another question! He won't have to uproot his family to come here, Wolves are more likely to want him off the books than demand a large fee I can see it happening
LcFc_Smiv Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Have you seen what the Wolves fans have said about him? Can't wait to get rid of him by the looks of it. He is a dirty player, and would be suited to someone like Millwall or Leeds. It was games against the likes of Milwall and Leeds last year where we lacked any form of strength and fight and it cost us. We were bullied and over ran, for me this is a possible signing that addresses a weakness of our current squad.

We can do better than Henry though, we are just going to play him so he can bust some legs, and get yellow and red cards. He is one of those players fans love to hate, ideally I don't want that type of player at Leicester. Michael Bostwick is the answer in my opinion.

whitlock Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 We got bullied way too many times last season. He might not be the most gifted but will add a bit of steel to the spine of the team.
Dan Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Karl Henry is a decent player, Could be the sort of CM we missed. Just because hes had 1 bad season with Wolves doesn't make him a bad player. The whole team was shite and with decent players around him he could be key 3 bad seasons. Anyone with 3 bad seasons here would be laughed out of the club. Not just singling you out here but so many fail to spot their own perspective at times, it's amazing what we all allow to cloud our judgment, I know Wolves fans are hardly the cast of Mastermind but there's quite an obvious picture being painted here. I'd give him a chance like I do 99.9% of signings, but do I think we could do better? Absolutely.
Harry - LCFC Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Agree with Dan, he's been bad for a while now. Just doesn't look like he can keep up at all. Last season wasn't just an anomaly, he seems to be getting progressively worse. Highly doubt that he's right for us, would prefer to stick with the same 'weak' midfield and rely on possession football to stop the opposition threatening.
Bert Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Just because he missed a penalty. Always thought he was decent up until that mistake. Literally I'm not joking either. I quite enjoyed watching all those goals he scored.
LCFC FOX Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Maybe Wolves it not for him like Kermorgant, Beckford, Mills ect. I would give him a chance if we signed him and certainly wouldn't message/tweet the club saying "please no" or "pearson out" because of it. I actually think he will do well here

Michael Bostwick is the answer in my opinion. interesting that Karl Henry & Michael Bostwick have very similar records on the caution front the last 4 seasons Henry 128 league apps 27 yellow & 4 red Bostwick 170 league app 32 yellow & 1 red. Both 1 season in the championship, we all know that Henry played the other 3 in the Prem, Bostwick was League One, Two & Conference. I am not a big fan of Henry myself, he certainly can't pass and is a bit of donkey, To me; Mick McCarthy dropped a clanger removing the captains armband off Henry in favour of Roger Johnson in the season they went down. I think the vast majority on here know that we need a different type of midfielder to the ones we have got, especially for matches where we're getting bullied, Would Karl Henry be our choice? Probably not! However; the bar is now set different for us and for the time being marquee signings look a thing of the past.

Similar records, 1 red card for Bostwick, 4 for Henry, shows a considerable difference of how dirty he is. Bostwick impressed at Stevenage, did well last season with Peterborough, strong presence in midfield, and can adapt to centre back as well. We do need a midfield of the Henry kind, but not Henry himself, because we can do better, and Wolves fans say he is crap. Don't expect marquee signings, but we can do better than Henry.

Tielemans63 Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 “@TransfersToBe: On 29th May we brought you news that Leicester had enquired about Wolves' Karl Henry. He is today in Leicester discussing terms #lcfc #wwfc†Fairly sure this is absolute horlicks but if it is true I can only assume NP wants some leadership / experience in the midfield. That's about all KH could offer us though!
Pookie Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 How is one red card to four a 'similar' record? My bad Dan, wording not the best there. I was referring to the bookings record being similar. Of course 1 red is totally different to 4 reds, but I dont get why people hang up on Henry discipline record, is it because that they know very little about the player in truth and recall what they see on sky sports news when has been sent off? Before I get shot down; I know very little about Karl Henry's true ability and he is not a player I would want us to sign because as previously stated, I think he is a donkey. A players discipline is not a valid reason for not signing a player, ability yes! After all; would you reject the signing of Kevin Nolan? Who over the past 5 seasons has been booked more times than Henry and sent off 3 times! Of course not, because he better player!
