MPH Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 My bad Dan, wording not the best there. I was referring to the bookings record being similar. Of course 1 red is totally different to 4 reds, but I dont get why people hang up on Henry discipline record, is it because that they know very little about the player in truth and recall what they see on sky sports news when has been sent off? Before I get shot down; I know very little about Karl Henry's true ability and he is not a player I would want us to sign because as previously stated, I think he is a donkey. A players discipline is not a valid reason for not signing a player, ability yes! After all; would you reject the signing of Kevin Nolan? Who over the past 5 seasons has been booked more times than Henry and sent off 3 times! Of course not, because he better player! So you admit to knowing nothing of his true ability but don't want us to sign him because you think he is a donkey? Glad that's cleared up then!
Kitchandro Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Why are there never any rumours about Danns going? I can't bare listening to another neanderthal try to use him as a reason to sack Pearson. The sooner that overrated, mind-numbingly boring, crap singing, Predator impersonating, chavvy wannabe chart topper leaves the better.

That description is brilliant btw, exactly spot on, he is everything that's wrong with the modern footballer.

I'd say a players lack of discipline can be a reason. 4 red cards and you've only got to look at his challenge against us earlier in the season to see he could've easily had more. We could do with someone of his ilk, just not particularly him as I think he lacks the ability on the ball to fit into our side and as stated, seems very indisciplined.

Always two sides of the coin Dan and you could be right with your opinion as a valid reason not to sign a player, but I think your main reason is that you don't rate him. It's a pitty we didn't as club adopt this stance before we signed Matt Mills & Neil Danns In their previous 3 season's before signing for us Matt Mills 103 league appearances 23 yellows & 4 reds Neil Danns 90 league appearances 16 yellows & 2 reds 1 season with us Matt Mills 25 league appearances 7 yellows & 2 reds Neil Danns 22 league appearances 6 yellows & 2 reds But I don't recall anybody on this board before we signed this pair, claiming that we shouldn't touch them with a barge poll due to their lack of discipline, Some were quite desperate for them to sign for the club, because they thought they were decent players. Our Mister Henry, just about everybody is saying we shouldn't buy him because he is crap, even more so given his disciplinary record (274 total league appearances, 57 yellows & 4 reds) - (championship level 182 total league appearances, 37 yellows & 1 red). - (Premier League 92 appearances, 20 yellows & 3 red). This could suggest that he was a couple of yards two slow in his head & feet to play at Premier League level. My Point is: that people will over look a players disciplinary record if they think they're a good player, but highlight it as another reason not sign them if they don't rate them Like I have said in all my posts, I don't rate Karl Henry,
deep blue Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 ... In their previous 3 season's before signing for us Matt Mills 103 league appearances 23 yellows & 4 reds Neil Danns 90 league appearances 16 yellows & 2 reds 1 season with us Matt Mills 25 league appearances 7 yellows & 2 reds Neil Danns 22 league appearances 6 yellows & 2 reds ... What I find interesting is that their disciplinary records worsened when playing for us. That must be down to Sven. Sven out! (oh, he is...)

Xen Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Henry 128 league apps 27 yellow & 4 red Bostwick 170 league app 32 yellow & 1 red. Assuming each of those reds was 2 yellows, KH only picked up cards in 31 games out of 128. For a player who's supposedly got terrible discipline, as a middle-of-the-park ball-winner, 1 card every 4 games is not all that bad... All that stat shows is that he's not as cautious as other players once he's picked up a card. Not saying we should buy him (there are definitely better options out there), but the stats aren't quite as bad as they're being made out to be..

If Pearson does sign him and use him correctly for Leicester then fair play, he's proved most of us wrong, but I think the comments from Wolves fans shouldn't be taken lightly - you've only got to look at their plight. The difference with Danns & Mills is they didn't really have much of a track record beforehand. When they got here they were in the most indisciplined team I've seen and the stats (most red cards in a season ever for Leicester) prove that. I'm not against us going for a player to add steel, I just don't necessarily think this is the right player.
Kitchandro Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 You forgot fat I was actually going to put fat but I thought that might be hypocritical.
