Beliall Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 A couple of unknowns in our little village always just leave the narrow footpaths full of their dog shit! Luckily some lovely slightly scary old dear always comes out and sprays it all with either luminous pink or green spray paint, the path majestically turns into a minature airport runway strip at night time! daventry_fox Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Should dog owners be fined for not carrying mess bags? By Leicester Mercury | Posted: October 06, 2015 http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/images/localworld/ugc-images/276308/Article/images/27930002 Dog owners could be fined £100 if they are caught walking their pet without a mess bag, according to reports. The penalty, which is being introduced by Daventry council in Northamptonshire, will be imposed on the owner regardless of whether the animal makes a mess in public or not. If the scheme is successful it could be implemented across the country, according to the Daily Mail. A Kennel Club spokesman told the newspaper: "We support local authorities being proactive but many are already struggling to enforce anti-fouling rules. "Are they going to approach every single dog owner and ask to see a bag, without the owner having done anything wrong?" However, environmentalists have welcomed the move and Daventry council claim there has been huge support for the measure. Do you think dog owners should be fined for not carrying mess bags? Or, do you think the law would be impossible to enforce? Let us know your views by voting in our poll – which can be found to the right hand side of the page – and leaving a comment in the section below I live in Daventry and believe me dog shit should be the least of the councils problems, they should focus more on the problems we have with junkies and chavs carrying knives around
Unabomber Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Found out my dog has a heart murmur and the vet was like if he coughs bring him in. Guess what yesterday he found a cough sweet on the floor and ate it what a character.
Buce Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 You say that but I heard on the radio once that if you put lion wee on your garden it stops cats pooing on your lawn. A mate of mine was having a problem with deer getting into his garden. His neighbour works at Twycross zoo, and offered to bring some lion shit to spread among the flower beds. Worked a treat.
Unabomber Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 My Step-Father's dog (when he was a pup) 'did one' on the side of a dining table chair not long before he purchased him - he grabbed the dog's head and stuck his nose in the 'thing'. It taught him big time. Genuinely haven't changed in 2 years
The Blur Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Amazed at what I've read there. I've no seen dog shit on the street for years. If they don't pick it up they should be in court. Modern definitely, dog turd is disgusting. A side question, whatever happened to white dog shit? I asked that in Questions thread a while back, apparently it is all down to an ingredient in dog food which got banned few years back hence the disappearance of white shit. Seriously though, I can't believe people who let their dog shit, I saw a couple around the bin where you put dog shit in for sake, some of them were literally next to the bin itself!
Samilktray Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Dog owners are the greatest people on the planet.

stix Posted 10 October 2015 Posted 10 October 2015 It was probably leopard shit, I don't think they have lions at twycross. They used to a few years ago. Asiatic Lions I think they were.
Buce Posted 10 October 2015 Posted 10 October 2015 It was probably leopard shit, I don't think they have lions at twycross.Possibly - it was a long time ago - but I'm pretty sure he said Asiatic Lions.Edit: What Stix said. Thracian Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 What a pity there's not the same enthusiasm for fining humans for the mess they make of public toilets. I can't believe the state they leave places in. As for dogs I sometimes fancy buying half a dozen and taking them round to shit all over the gardens that their own animals leave outside mine. Why don't people find some countryside if they can't take the responsibility of clearing up? Instead they actually leave their own houses and take their dogs to shit by someone elses.
Strokes Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 So what did become of white dog shit?People started clearing it up?
davieG Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 1,000 complaints about dog poo in Leicester By danjmartin | Posted: February 26, 2016 PICK IT UP!!! Comments (3)Nearly 1,000 complaints have been made about dog fouling in Leicester streets and parks in the last year. The city council has revealed it had 976 reports of owners who did not clear up after their pets. It also spent more than £30,000 cleaning up dog faeces - largely the costs associated with running a machine called FIDO which sucks up dog mess and sprays a chemical disinfectant to clean affected area. The figures were revealed following a Freedom of Information request by a dog-food company. Assistant city mayor for neighbourhood services councillor Kirk Master said: "I would like to point out that the vast majority of dog owners in the city behave in the right way and clean up after their dogs. "Unfortunately there are others who do not act responsibly. "Our city wardens do issue fines when they catch people not cleaning up after their dogs but they can't be everywhere. "It is one of the issues we get a lot of complaints about and we try to educate people through steps like leaflet campaigns in places where we identify a problem." David Tinker, brand manager of CANIDAE which submitted the FoI request, said: "Despite the majority of responsible dog owners picking up after their pooch, dog waste remains a pertinent matter, not just from a health and environmental point of view but from a financial one, too. !The £32,000 annual cost to the council is, in effect, a cost to the taxpayer. So, in one way or another, dog fouling is an issue that affects everyone in Leicester – no-one likes stepping in it and no one likes paying for it to be cleaned up. "We hope the findings act as reminder to irresponsible dog owners to do the right thing and help keep the streets of Leicester clean." Guest Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Surprised it's only 1000 to be honest, round Aylestone and the meadows it's like being back in the 80s. As a dog owner myself it grinds my gears that others can't act more responsibly

Guest Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 That's a 1000 complaints not a 1000 turds Yeah I got that but I'm still surprised there's not more complaints

As a dog owner myself it grinds my gears that others can't act more responsiblyYeah I agree, I clean up after my dog but my kids end up stepping in other people's. It's annoying. Also where I live, someone or some people bag up the poo, then leave it in the middle of the path. What the hell is that about?
Guest BlueBrett Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 You're best off just getting one of those dogs that likes to eat its own mess. Everyone's a winner that way
Rob1742 Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 We should have a mass cull and basically rid our nation of these shit machines. Far too long they have held the upper hand and we need to rectify the current imbalance. As an example, a dog came up to me in the summer and tried to mount my leg. Nothing came of it, no prosecution, no police, and just a smiling owner that came over saying that Rover doesn't normally do this sort of thing. Now if we had a balanced society, I should have been allowed to go over to the woman and try and mount her and with the same implications. The implications for me would have been a probable prison sentence. The shit machines have the upper hand and dog owners are allowing these things to control our lives and live in a preferential way. Another example is that again I would be prosecuted if I curled one out in the street, irrelevant if I bagged it up or not. A mass culling is the only answer I am afraid.
The Guvnor Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Two solutions 1. Have all dogs arseholes cauterised at birth. 2. And probably more acceptable to dog owners anyway designate fields at least half a mile away from civilisation where all dog owners can roam freely with their pooches and let them sh*t everywhere.
Bryn Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Anyone that doesn't clean up after their dog is a twat. It's disgusting. Bloody love dogs me, get so much out of them. Not hard to take a bag with you to clean up.
Rincewind Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 I'd take one of the poo bins follow the owner of the dog home and shove it through their letterbox. Or maybe not.
