sylofox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 None yet will see what happens in this transfer window before getting my hopes up.
Babylon Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 That's what I'm saying. People are simply not inspired anymore whatever the current regime serve up! Sorry that makes no sense whatsoever, and only serves to reflect badly on the fans than it does anyone else. If you can't get inspired by good football, winning games and playing well at home then people need to take a look in the mirror. Finally the penny dropped with a few games to go, that booing and jeering your own players might not be particularly productive. They managed to be inspired to make noise and support the team then.
hackneyfox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Apart from Kasper who will be out of contract it's entirely up to us if the others leave. If the top players want a move because we haven't got promoted it would bve a very foolish manager who forced them to stop. Contracts are pontless if a player decides he wants to leave.
Babylon Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 I wouldn't say that many of the players we had would be on the shopping list of premier league managers anyway. From a neutral perspective Leicester is a big club in this league, and when we have cut our cloth accordingly with FFP we will be very well placed because of our size. We will have more money to play with than most and will look a decent prospect for most players in this league. Only perhaps relegated teams would look a better placed than us because of parachute payments, but there are no guarantees there, just look at relegated teams last year. Last financial year our turnover was £21.4 million, Forest's was £14.8m... if the difference stayed at those levels it would give us a massive financial edge on them.

Most of them would not have a clue how to play the game and have never played. Thats why they Boo a bad pass and like some on here think they are perfect.

I'm personally quite uninspired by the bulk of Pearson's football if truth be told. He's solid enough and every so often it all clicks. Some of the performances last season though (Derby for instance) were an embarrassment, mainly because we became kick and hope. I'm giving Nige another season but I'd be looking forward to the forthcoming season more with a younger man with some fresh ideas on how to play the game, at the helm. Pearson strikes me as a bit of a dinosaur, footballing wise. Anyway, I hope he proves me wrong.
whitwickfox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Trust me col I agree with a lot of what you post but Pearson will be found out this side of christmas

As the great Arrigo Sacchi said,"I never realised that to become a great jockey you have to have been a horse first".
Raw Dykes Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Denmark the opposition strikers better...... That's a Faroe point well made.

Loggy88 Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 At the moment I'd say 8th unless we improve the squad.
Jugsi Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 I can't see us finishing above Wigan, QPR, Reading or Bolton. Think we'll be in a batch with Forest, Boro, Blackburn, Watford and Leeds so anywhere up to 10th. Such a tough league as Blackpool, Ipswich and Brighton could be handy. Need a CB as a minimum and to keep our core players, realistically I think we're 3 quality players short.
seenitall Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 That's a Faroe point well made. If the ball would Jutland where we want it to.......
Raw Dykes Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 I'm really not sure this time around. The league does look stronger. We seem to hear this same thing every year, only to be surprised each time, but I think there's more truth to it this time, mainly due to FFP. Since it's a young squad, and almost identical to last season's, then I'd say we should be looking to push on a bit. Obviously, we scraped into the play-offs with a record low points tally, so we'll have to improve slightly just to reach 6th place again. It will be interesting to see how a settled team gets on for once. I want to see the Leicester side from the first half of last season again, but on a more regular basis. If that happens, we'll surely be contenders for promotion. There's no doubt we're severely hampered by the overpaid rubbish on the transfer list, and I'm not confident that we can ship even a few of them out any time soon. Because of this, the actual playing squad will remain on the small side, and I can't have such high hopes as normal for the season. I really think we could have a drastically improved squad once the unwanted high earners are no longer here. Since there won't be many other clubs stupid enough to pay them anywhere near what they're on here, I reckon we'll probably have to wait until their contracts run out for this to finally happen. I'll predict a finish somewhere between 4th and 9th. If I was forced to narrow it down, then 6th or 7th. Alright then, 6.5th.
Banks Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Mid table - anything better would be a bonus Stay optimistic if you can!
Aus Fox Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Best Goalkeeper in the league, best centre half in the league, 2 strikers capable of scoring 20 goals and some real quality in midfield. No reason we shouldn't be challenging for top 6
Dan Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Rubbish! We played some of the best football I've ever seen us play. We were bloody free-scoring too, not just entertaining When we hit 2nd early on, the crowd was like... we should be top When we hit top later on, the crowd was like we should be 10pts clear. Then the atmosphere was corrosive rather than supportive. In the main the crowd was utter garbage throughout - without good reason too, until the abysmal run when some of the displays served up obviously deserved some stick. However, the crowd did get into towards the end, when we ground some results out to get in the playoffs. Why that support couldn't have been there when we were playing great & flying... and especially during the early stages of the poor run when it could have helped some of the young lads through I'll never know Hopefully we'll be there throughout this season Our support last season was shite. Even away from home it was generally crap. Couldn't knock the numbers but vocally we were as bad as we've ever been although it did pick up a lot towards the end. It's really bizarre.
Bayfox Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 That's what I'm saying. People are simply not inspired anymore whatever the current regime serve up! or we moved ground. football changed and the people responsible for any atmosphere lost interest. clubs can make 100x more from a box, corperate than they can from a single bloke in his 30's. thus changing the whole dermographic they want to come to the game. that coupled with the fact mons reign lifted expectation and of course created an atmosphere. here was a side that had spent a decade being crap. now mixing it with aresnal, utd and liverpool. we.enjoyed it because it wasnt the norm. now everyone looks at that and thinks thats where we should be. it isnt. i think we could be sat in the top 4 of the premier league now and most still wont cheer. because a they dont want too and b are normally at games entertaining clients. the football is just an excuse.
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Reading some of the comments from the usual suspects is hilarious but at the same I kind of pity them.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I think we'll go up automatically. Not sure why, but I do. What I will say is that I think that the low turnover of players will work in our favour. This is looking a hell of a call at this stage of the season. Long way to go of course, but I do think the squad stability has been a factor.
Harry - LCFC Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Yep, he's successfully squeezed the life out of everything & everyone. True say, true say
