Lambert09 Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Bradford last season proved good cup runs and promotion can go hand in hand This! The experience they got from the cup run was priceless in the play-offs. Not to mention the mental boost it gave them. It was loosing the cup game to Huddersfield that started our downward spiral last year. Schmeichel Moore - Morgan - Taft De Laet - James - Cain - Bakayogo Knockaert Nugent - Vardy Subs; Logan, St Ledger, Konchesky, Marshall, King, Wood, Waghorn Cain has a very bad injury
cjslcfc Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Cain has a very bad injury Shame, it seemed like he was making a good impression in pre season
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 I want to see us taking the cups seriously this season. Bollox to all the 'save it for the league' stuff. I'd like to see the club enjoy a decent run in the cup as well as competing well in the league. Having been lucky enough to see us doing well in the League Cup, I know how exciting it can get and the momentum it can give the team. One of my biggest disappointments last season was the way in which we went out of both cups in a pathetic fashion. I really don't want to see that happen again. Totally agree Col
Dan Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Remember though, many people blamed our downturn in form due to rotating the squad playing a weakened team in the FA Cup match, just bare that in mind. I'd personally say they were completely wrong. This! The experience they got from the cup run was priceless in the play-offs. Not to mention the mental boost it gave them. It was loosing the cup game to Huddersfield that started our downward spiral last year. Cain has a very bad injury Does he? My bad, and that's a blow. He's the youth player I'm most keen on seeing. Looks like the type of player I like with a very bright future if he wants it enough.
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Would like to see Konch as am LCB as he might be required to do it. I think SSL will be rested as he was the only one to play 90 vs Northampton and Boro. Not sure if Zoom is fully fit and we could do with the more forward thinking Dyer in this one. Reckon Marshall will play CAM for the same reason and would keep DD after his performance. Can rest James or King then. Schmeichel Moore - Morgan - Konchesky RDL - King - Marshall - Drinkwater - Dyer Nugent - Vardy
theessexfox Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Mostly the same team, like to test a couple of players in other positions. Schmeichel SSL Morgan Konchesky Moore James Marshall Drinkwater Bakayogo Nugent Vardy
Ric Flair Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Kasper Moore Morgan Konchesky De Laet James Drinkwater Marshall Dyer Wood Vardy Subs: Nugent, King, Bakayago, Knockaert, SSL, Logan, Schlupp
whoareyaaa Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Would save Nugent for Saturday against Leeds, same team for me apart from Bakayago in for Knockesky and maybe bring in Knockeart or Marshall for King.

Flukes can happen in the league Cup, see Bradford. I loved our cup run when we won at Forest, Villa and then went to Chelsea. Couple of good games at Fulham too.
dogsby Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 I get the feeling Pearson doesn't seem bothered about cup games so my bet would be a relatively week side with fringe players and kids being involved.shame because we should really go for them to get a winning mentality going.
Foxhateram Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Maybe we can finally break the jinx they appeared to put upon us all those years ago. . Come on you foxes 2 in 2 would be a fantastic start.
sdb Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Kasper Moore Wes Taft SSL Dyer Danns King Knocky Schlupp Wood
TrentFox Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 I'm in the 'it's all about the league points' camp. Getting players match-fit would govern my selection. Some need exposure to positions in case we are carrying injuries come Sunday. Also, some need exposure if they are to be sold. Logan Moore - Morgan - Konch Dyer - Danns - Drinkwater - Schlupp Knocky Waghorn - Vardy There is ample there to beat WW if they apply themselves.
Father Ted Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Whitbread and Marshall (ill) according to Stringer are out.
MikeyT Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Leicester City Football Club NP: Whitbread trains today, but won't be involved v @wwfcofficial in the @CapitalOne_Cup. Marshall (illness) won't travel either.
ealingfox Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Going to this, first match of the season. Looking forward to it.
CosbehFox Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Bradford last season proved good cup runs and promotion can go hand in hand Equally Cardiff's losses in the cups to Northampton and Macclesfield helped them have a good season with a small squad. There's no science to it IMO.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Would like to see.... Kasper RDL SSL Moore Morgan Bakayogo James Danns DD Schlupp Nugent Subs Logan, King, Gallagher, Vardy, Hopper, Dyer, Wood.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Got another jeering in the town today, They reckon Wycombe are well up for this one.
Webbo Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Got another jeering in the town today, They reckon Wycombe are well up for this one. Tell them what a fantastic job Pearson's doing, that'll shut them up.
Loggy88 Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 I'd play same team, all be buzzing after Saturdays result and even if its not that important be still good to start season with 2 away wins.
MC Prussian Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Remember, this is the game where our *sigh* brand-new and *bleurgh* highly fashionable lemon-gray-beige-ocre-whatever away kit will make its first full appearance... Lucky charm or jinx? We shall find out tomorrow!
Father Ted Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 I'd go with: Schmeichel Moore - Morgan - St Ledger De Laet ----------------------------- Dyer James - Danns Knockaert Wood - Schlupp Subs: Logan, Hopper, Bakayogo, King, Drinkwater, Vardy, Waghorn.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 August 2013 Posted 5 August 2013 Hope he puts out a team capable of doing the job, I grow a bit tired of people claiming we've got no chance of doing anything in it, or that a good cup run automatically means you'll struggle to go up. Please see Bradford City last season for both points.
