No intelligence or knowledge required, just open random boxes and talk to someone, via Noel Edmonds, who the viewers can't see or hear. Cry a bit, tell someone they are lovely, advise them to pick boxes in a certain way and bring out family member to hug when dealing or not dealing. Oh, and Noel Edmonds presents it.

Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Tipping Point Tipping point is so shit but I often have it on when I'm working from home as I like a nice mild distraction and some easy general knowledge questions. The best bit is the terminology they have invented, that was a bit of a "Ghost Drop" there, ooh an "ambient fall", will it lay flat, oh no we have a "rider", we've found your "Tipping Point". Cracks me up how seriously they take it.

Another show which they take far too seriously, hilarious the amount of times the refer to someone playing really well and having an excellent game.

It's just so shit and the way they blow smoke up the arse of their guests is massively cringeworthy. I'm pretty sure they have to hold back Matt Baker from performing live fellatio when yet another one of his 'heroes' is sat awkwardly on the sofa.

As with Tipping Point some of the questions are unbelievably easy and the skill isn't so much general knowledge as timing drops with luck, or juggling hourglasses. They both suffer from having presenters who don't seem too savvy themselves, as they ask a real easy question and say "is that correct?" and wait with baited breath. I quite like Bradley Walsh on The Chase, because you can tell he works questions out sensibly and sometimes someone will give a stupid answer and he'll look at them as if they're from a different planet . The Weakest Link used to suffer from thick presenter syndrome too. Anne Robinson would often mispronounce names of people and places and quite often I thought people got questions wrong because she didn't ask them correctly. Towie, Made in Chelsea & Geordie Shore. My favourite Anne Robinson's is when some has clearly given the right answer but it is not exactly as she has it written on the card, there is an awkward pause then she gets the nod through the ear piece and she says "I'll allow it", like she's doing them a favour, of course you'll allow it, it's the right fvcking answer.

Was talking with the Mrs about getting one recently but we don't really miss it. If there is anything we really want to watch then you can usually find it on the interweb thingy and the pub shows the footy.... This thread is reminding me why I got rid of mine in the first place.
