Ashley Posted 6 November 2013 Author Posted 6 November 2013 I know the Family Stand/ 'Kop' discussion has been done to absolute death and will never ever happen but has anyone ever proposed moving the away fans further down the East Stand? For example giving us that corner up until L, then away fans having K,J3 and J2? Our current L1 could then either stay where it is or move to the H1 which is actually a bigger block. Think it's been mentioned before they won't have it due to the away fans getting out 'easier' for where the coaches are parked. It would be the same as Derby...
Finnegan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I had a season ticket in N when the stadium first opened and I'm sure it wasn't classed as the family stand then. I presume that has changed now then? Am I getting my blocks wrong? The one Ashley sits in anyway.

Who's clever idea was it to have a family stand next to away fans let me guess kevin barclay utter incompetence. That is a secondary solution, the best solution is the Family Stand/ kop change but the club are too spineless to do that.

Then hopefully we can have one area of safe standing that is declared 'the singing section' and then we never have to discuss this to death for the 10,000th time. Also the police told the club where to put the away fans, not the other way round.

Well yeah I do quite frankly my mate and his dad sit above the goal they are both adults. Excellent view they have as well. Why should they move? They join in with the odd song too and behaveofe than acceptable? Never really been in the East stand but are the concourses actually able to accomodate that?

"behaveofe than acceptable?" - What? Behaviour more than acceptable. They've had the same seats since our ground opened I believe or the season after. Tell me why should they move? He was a kid at the start now he's in a adults seat? Don't see the problem to be honest like I said they have an excellent view and like it where they are.

If you want to sing your are more than welcome to buy a ticket in the just the ticket area for the same price as the family stand. If someone doesnt want to hear me sing they are welcome to buy a ticket elsewhere as well. No problem with that? Yes I do, I have noticed. I also want to stand up. I'm sure you know this, but I'm not a person who enjoys a nanny state, I believe people should have freedoms, I don't think all authority knows best when it comes to my safety. A singing section should be next to the away fans as that's the vocal area, if the club want to move the family stand there expect some singers to follow. If they want to make the other side of the away supporters all season tickets expect even more to follow.

Premium view = premium prices Why not charge away fans more for sitting in the part of the ground with the best view? The vast majority are going to travel to watch their team regardless of what view they have when they get there. Whilst I don't agree with moving the away fans - and it'll never happen because of where the coaches and road from train station are - the suggestion wasn't deserving of the condescending response you gave it.

Even at Filbert St, in the programmes Barrie Pierpoint used to write his patronising column telling us parents brought their kids along and heard some swearing and saw people standing up and the club were trying to stop it. Would've been a massive shame if Filbert St had gone the current way, with crappy goal music, Hey Jude and a family-orientated atmosphere.

Well unfortunately for you, the ground is private property and the club is free to impose whatever it wants. You do what the club wants on their property or get out, just as you would kick me out of your house for taking a leak on your bed instead of in the bathroom. There are areas the club turn a blind eye to. They will not do that for every part of the ground.
