Bert Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 HOW MANY TIMES?!?!? THE CLUB WERE TOLD BY THE POLICE THEY CANNOT HAVE THE KOP NEAR THE AWAY FANS. THE AWAYS FANS WERE PLACED THERE FOR A REASON - prevent potential volatile situations and quick, easy access to the road being the main ones. Wrong.

The police directly influenced the decision to put the Family Stand next to the away fans. Who in their right mind is gonna attack a bunch of young kids and families? So as I said, no-one is suggesting that we move the away fans. And you aren't answering my question, surely we should move L block too because of potential danger? Maybe we should have the family stand on either side of the away fans? There's been no problems on that side so it follows that there would also be no problems if we had a 2nd L block on the others side.

Ofcourse people who are there for the banter are going to want to surround them. I wouldnt expect otherwise. Just another step towards turning lcfc into a kids club. Pathetic. We'll get 'Kopites' back as the atmosphere will be improved, family stand will have increased security for kids. Win win, right? you honestly think that on people moving back to the Kop?. cant see that myself. I wouldnt move from my seat in P1... as for increased security for kids.....some kids in the family end say worse things than a chap getting there dick stuck in there zipper....

I'm talking about buying an adult ticket in the Family Stand. If I want to sit in that stand I can, as a society we are supposed to be beyond treating people difference because of race, gender, age etc.

For example giving us that corner up until L, then away fans having K,J3 and J2? Our current L1 could then either stay where it is or move to the H1 which is actually a bigger block. Have to agree with this idea. doubt the club would ever do it. might cost the money and all that.

I'm staggered by the number of people on here that can't understand the logic of a Family Stand being for families. for the record I take my 4 year old in the kop and as soon as she is old enough will move to L1 area, if we haven't got safe standing by that point. But can people really not see that the family stand should be for parents with kids and beyond that there are 3 other parts of the ground you can use, and let's be fair the kop is currently that empty that you can just get the same view at the opposite end!! I think the only reason there is an issue is cost, if the kop was made cheaper I'm sure a few more could move over and join the guys in the corner of sk1 if they want to stand and sing. Or is the real truth they want the right to cheap tickets next to the away fans so they can hurl, what they will call banter.

Since the rest of the ground isn't being packed out, surely it makes sense for you self-proclaimed atmosphere aficionados to take your adult language and chants to amplify the atmosphere in the other stands which the club have set aside for you to do exactly that in? I can't see anything wrong with cordoning off a specific area to be as family/child-friendly as possible. The only valid complaint is the lower cost of adult tickets in the family stand, but only a couple of people have mentioned that. Everyone else is moaning about atmosphere which I've addressed above.

kingfox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Is this for fookin real. Bringing kids to games is an awful idea anyway, especially the really young one's. Last home game I had one kid at the back of me, and one kid next to me, and neither were focusing on the game, they would rather kick people's chairs. This will just create a whole bunch of children who come uninterested, and there parents will be telling them to sit still every five minutes. Scrap this family stand business altogether, just call it the Marks Electrical Stand or whatever it is.

In response to the comment about being next to away fans, there's my point proved, i want to stand, i want to sing, but I can only do that next to the away fans cuz it's Banter, try backing your ****ing team. Or move to L1 or K or wherever it is to scream whatever shit you want. I tend to go to a game to watch it, I find the view helps with that. As for the above comment yes and I think that is part of the problem, which relates to cost, I personally think the club should have a family stand, don't care where, but that is for adults and kids that are under16 lets say and you buy a ticket that relates to your situation, ie 1 parent 2 kids, 2 parents 1 kid, 2 parents 2 plus kids etc. Then people may understand the concept of the family stand and it's purpose, for people to get their knickers in a twist over something that essentially is bending the rules a little to start with, well it shows we must be doing ok. As all we have to moan about is tickets!!
