Steven Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Spotted at Morrisons earlier too also checked into the Marriott last night welcome to Leicester KP Just the confirmation I was looking for. :xmaslaugh:
Itsthejoeker Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 The bloke has always been an utter pain in the arse for us, I mean KP not ol' twitchy. Hated it when teams brought him on even at his age. He just has that habit of getting in the end of things. At least if we sign him he won't bloody score against us!
Jace Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Looks like this deal has been on the cards for a while... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/133358/Kevin-Phillips-is-top-target-for-Leicester-and-Coventry
Bryn Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Happy with this if true. Vardy and Waghorn are willing runners, Nugent and Gary Taylor-Fletcher provide craft and guile and Wood is a target man. What we don't have is an out-and-out poacher. Also brings yet more vital experience.
Soar Fox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Harry trying to stir things I reckon. Got a feeling QPR will bid for Jordan Rhodes in this window.
ktfox59 Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Please Please Please let this happen. I genuinely think he could be the key to making that final push to the promised land. We are starting to see why Nige brought in GTF and Hammond. Phillips will help see us over the line in terms of his all around forward play, goal poaching and an experience of playing alongside some of the finest strikers around during a great career. Yes he will be an impact, last 20 minute a game player now, but he could make those 1 point situations into 3 and nil into 1. Valuable points that get us where we all want to be. Nobody needs to slate current players to point out where and how he could prove priceless to us.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 No thanks, we've already got a experienced striker out of his prime.
Jace Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I heard this was the deal breaker for the owners in paying off the £100+ million debt was to allow just enough funds to be available within FFP to bring in Kevin Phillips.
Brainy Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 No thanks, we've already got a experienced striker out of his prime. As well as GTF
MGLCFC Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 There are lots of arguments for this to happen. 1. He's a free agent 2. Can give him a short term contract 3. Would be an excellent coach to teach Vardy to be more clinical 4. Will not expect to start many games 5. Would have a positive impact on the squad as they won't feel threatened by a big signing 6. Can score goals in and around the 6 yard box 7. Proven at this level in the past 8. Could be a great impact sub 9. Been in a promotion winning side recently 10. Great attitude My only concern is, at 40, can he still do it. Having said that, I thought Cottee, Ferdinand and Deane were past it when they signed for us, but they all did a fantastic job. The pro's definitely outweigh the cons
RowlattsFox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Wanted to sign him for years but not sure now. Coaching role would be ideal though.
Happy Fox Posted 2 January 2014 Author Posted 2 January 2014 Palace boss Tony Pulis added: "He is a fantastic professional and there is no way I would stand in the way of what he wants to do. "He has been brilliant to have around the place in the last few weeks that I have been here and of course he played a major role in getting this club promoted through the play-offs. "His attitude in and around the rest of the players is first class and you can see why, at 40 years of age, he is still playing in the Premier League. I wish him every success in the future."
AKCJ Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25576133"You need three or four strikers. That is the key. Leicester have got four strikers and someone told me they might be taking [Crystal Palace forward] Kevin Phillips. That would give them five. What a moron.
Dan Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Cry me a river whilst Austin costs more than our forwards combined.
kingfox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 More than likely playing mind games. But I'd love it if we brought him in, great professional and can chip in with a few goals, we should of got him a couple of years ago in my opinion. My Dad for one would be happy.
RowlattsFox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Why is he talking like he has one striker? Zamora? Johnson?
Guest MattP Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Bagpuss, give us a twitch. He's getting very desperate if he is resorting to this.
MGLCFC Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I think, if true, it's a clever move by NP. He'll have an experienced goal scorer as cover whilst Wood recovers, a good strong bench which would now include a proven goal scorer and it's not going to upset the camp.
Carl the Llama Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I bet even he's having a little chuckle at the absurdity of some of the stuff he came out with in that interview. Right Jeremy.
foxfanazer Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I'm warming to the idea although I think Le Fondre would be a better option. He's going to struggle keeping up with Dyer and Vardy if we are attacking on the break which could prove to be a problem. Can't fault him for his clinical finishing though. Would've absolutely loved him here a few years ago, now I'd still be happy but not overly excited
AKCJ Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Why is he talking like he has one striker? Zamora? Johnson? They've just released Chevantón and they have Charlie Austin too.
VLC86 Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Seams to fit the young and hungry player mould that Pearson likes
