TrentFox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 So underwhelmed by this that I can't even be bothered to finish my ...
MGLCFC Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I don't think there will be any marque signings as Pearson has faith in the 18 or so players he's got at his disposal. Phillips would be a good addition, cover for injuries, yet not upsetting the apple cart by demanding he should be playing regularly. I also think Mahrez / Marhez would be good cover for Knockaert - he's not going to expect to be in the first team from day one.
Corky Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Very experienced cover, seems like a great professional, can give advice to our strikers about composure in front of goal, seems like a sensible and logical move for six months.
Winnershfox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 We have been talking with him. ! Apart from knocking up the average age of oyr squad what do people think?.
MC Prussian Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 We have been talking with him. ! Apart from knocking up the average age of oyr squad what do people think?. Clinical finisher. Super sub.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 On a free for a few months, can't hurt and would almost certainly bring additional fire power. Would have loved this a few seasons ago, but still happy if he joins us now.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I'm bored of hearing about him already. He is another GTF, maybe not quite as good.
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Redknapp said we were. Lets not pass it off as fact. I can certainly believe he'd be one to stir things up.
Jace Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I haven't been this excited about a signing since Bakayogo
MrSpaM Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Would be a good signing for the rest of the season as backup, especially if Schlupp or Waghorn end up being loaned out again.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 It's the year 3417. All that is left is dust. The world ended centuries ago. And yet... a faint flicker of life. GOAL: Kevin Phillips (90+3)
urban.spaceman Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Kevin Phillips Bong http://youtu.be/31FFTx6AKmU Never gets old. Anyway, he'd be useful as a sub, there's no doubt about that. What I can't believe is that he's 40!
Walshy5 Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Wouldnt read to much into this. Arrys clearly trying to play mind games
damolcfc Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Claridge and Marshall all over again ;-) Claridge and Marshall all over again ;-)
LCFC FOX Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Why is the transfer section in here btw? Lots of people miss it it was better on the main forum IMO
Leicesterpool Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Kevin Phillips that is at the KP as we speak - Deal until the end of the season. Potential coaching role as well Very clever deal if you ask me - proven goalscorer with massive promotion experience Kev would be an excellent personal teacher to both Vardy & Schlupp
Johnny Cash Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 What did I say on the Schlupp thread yesterday?
Guest Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 What did I say on the Schlupp thread yesterday? If you can't remember how should we?
sylofox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Kev would be an excellent personal teacher to both Vardy & Schlupp Won't do nuge and wood any harm either.
Carl the Llama Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 It's the year 3417. All that is left is dust. The world ended centuries ago. And yet... a faint flicker of life. GOAL: Kevin Phillips (90+3) Pissing myself
MPH Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 There are lots of arguments for this to happen. 1. He's a free agent 2. Can give him a short term contract 3. Would be an excellent coach to teach Vardy to be more clinical 4. Will not expect to start many games 5. Would have a positive impact on the squad as they won't feel threatened by a big signing 6. Can score goals in and around the 6 yard box 7. Proven at this level in the past 8. Could be a great impact sub 9. Been in a promotion winning side recently 10. Great attitude My only concern is, at 40, can he still do it. Having said that, I thought Cottee, Ferdinand and Deane were past it when they signed for us, but they all did a fantastic job. The pro's definitely outweigh the cons This was my first thought when opening this thread.... I cant see how we could lose if He comes in.....
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 It's the year 3417. All that is left is dust. The world ended centuries ago. And yet... a faint flicker of life. GOAL: Kevin Phillips (90+3) Haha, that's my tweet from March 2012! It lives on!
Scow Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I'm warming to the idea although I think Le Fondre would be a better option. He's going to struggle keeping up with Dyer and Vardy if we are attacking on the break which could prove to be a problem. Can't fault him for his clinical finishing though. Would've absolutely loved him here a few years ago, now I'd still be happy but not overly excited I think Pearson would see him as an option when chasing games and the opposition are sitting deep.
