Drug dogs at Stoke

Recommended Posts

I noticed that drug dogs were searching fans as they got off the coaches yesterday. First time I have seen that happen. Thoughts?

Pyro dogs, no?

I saw them. Seemed they were dogs from a private security firm rather than police dogs. The whole operation is very much more formal around their stadium though, ranging from the masses of road closures and diversions, to the lines of stewards/dogs searching people. Only ever seen it at Stamford Bridge. Maybe its a PL thing

Felt like you had arrived in a police state, completely over the top. I. Asked one of the security guards as he searched me whether this was the norm for Stoke games and he kept saying it was because we had the whole stand. After the third attempt of asking him what difference that made to only having half the stand and also asking again if this was the normal security/police presence I gave up as his brain was making grinding noises and his eyes were beginning to roll.

On the plus side the dogs were nice but really necessary ?

I did also make the point that I was hardly high risk as a 52 year old (not that I look that old of course) and he grunted that he had to search everyone - we footy fans are treated so well aren't we.

I fvkcing hate that "take your bottle top off" rule. I mean ffs is it really necessary? If I really wanted to throw something at the players, taking my lid off me wouldn't prevent it. Just succeeds in pissing people off. At our place they sell bottles inside the stadium with the tops on, so whats the difference? Again, Ive only ever had that at PL grounds

I felt the security yesterday was really over the top, i could imagine it scaring the youngsters. For me it was treating the fans like criminals yesterday, the amount of security that was there you would have thought we were entering a prison or something.

The young uns with us were dissappointed that they weren't searched

Pyro dogs, albeit in dire need of a Vick Stick apparently.

They've got nothing on Bomb Dogs, mind.

What's that from? lol

Did it at The New Den on NYD. Bottle bought inside the ground and top taken.
