Points for promotion

We wont need anywhere near 90 points from here. If Derby and QPR from now till the end of the season go along at 2 points per game thats only 85 and 86 respectively, and 2 points per game is a big ask.  I think 85 will be enough for promotion.  90 perhaps for the title.

4 wins from 13 for me!  And a couple of draws!  :scarf:

Just like in April 2003 when we beat Brighton to secure promotion

And something else I noticed:

In 2008/09, a defeat away at Brighton in which we shipped 3 goals sparked a long unbeaten run, in which we broke several club records, seized control of the league and ultimately romped to promotion.

In 2013/14, a defeat away at Brighton in which we shipped 3 goals sparked a long unbeaten run, in which we broke several club records, seized control of the league and ??????????????????????????

Incidentally in 08/09 our unbeaten run was broken on the 11th March away at a shit team, so if anyone is superstitious I'd lump heavily on Barnsley on Tuesday (11th March).

Spooky.

87 points according to After38.com

4 wins and 2 draws should be fine.

If we win our next 5 games on the spin we are promoted imo (Burnley away promotion party)

They say 81 points?

Top spot we would need 88 points

No wonder you a happyfox. I still believe, Wigan, QPR, Derby and Burnley, can all go on long unbeaten runs.

90 points, still has to be a minimum target. That said I am confident city can get nearer the 100pts marks.

Interesting now 1-1 between, Blackburn and Burnley

I doubt the 'shit team' had just got a positive result at home to a play-off contender thought.

Gives me promise that they got a good result in all honesty, can see them being a bit like charlton, tired and unable to reach the same level.

It's funny, I like probably many others on here have still got that jittery feeling about actually saying Promotion or Champions but Paddy Power have us as 1/200 to go up!!  :scarf:

Tranmere were around 8th then and an outside shout for the playoffs. They weren't as low as Barnsley.

Let's just beat Barnsley.

This. One game at a time and the 'points for promotion' total tumbles. Great feeling that with every win we edge closer and closer.

Barnsley will be no push overs though and on a high from their win on Saturday. Need to be careful. Can see another 2-1 on the road and it to be scrappy but hell I'd take that!

Said for ages 90 points and still think that. Come the Burnley game we could be on 84 points. So 6 points from the remaining games surely should be no problem.

Personally I can't see Derby or QPR getting 10 wins from their remaining games.

87.

This would have been enough for the second placed team in all of the last 10 years.

So that’s 13 points needed from 13 games. Win 3 draw 4 lose 6. Millwall picked up 13 points from their first 13 games of this season, and were in 18th place.

So we only need to be as good as Millwall for the rest of the season to get promoted.
