willie-bell-in-rothley Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 sky have said there has been an enquirey
Carl the Llama Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I would be distraught to see him leave, it will be difficult to find another keeper of similar ability at this point in the season. Â Â If we make him see out his contract he'll be able to go to them for free, but we'll then have more time and opportunity to bring in a suitable replacement. Â And then of course there's always the slight possibility he isn't interest in Milan...
FrankieADZ Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 If hes 1st choice then if he wants to go in the summer then so be it, I'd be gutterpointed tho, wouldnt really want him too.. Â *wouldnt want him to go if hes 2nd/3rd choice as he's better than that.
Mark_w Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 What a silly question. No I don't want one of our best players to leave so yes I would want to stop him. Unless he's so set on moving that he wouldn't be concentrating on doing his best for Leicester City.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I see no point in us selling in January - we don't need the money. Although if Kasper wanted to go, and you can understand why... then I wouldn't stand in his way. Â He may wish to play in the Prem - in which case we are in a great position to offer him that. Â He may decide to get the job done (i.e. promotion), and move to Milan in the summer. If he wanted to go, that would be my preference. At all costs, this team cannot be broken up - and he is an integral part of it. Foreign clubs can approach players who are within 6 months of their contracts expiring, so unless Kasper has a yearning desire to play in the English Premier League, I think he'll go.
Dan Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 We do what's best for us - but lets face it, we're pretty powerless if AC Milan are looking at a player out of contract. They're one of the genuine giants of the footballing world even if they are in a slump at the minute.
nickelbyfox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 would let him sign a pre-contract agreement - so stay with us until summer when hopefully we are promoted, then go wherever he fancies  Wonder about the high ball and crosses element of his game in the prem anywaysÂ
Mack Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 There is no need for them to ask for permission, as he only has 6 months left Milan or any other European team can sign him on a contract that will commence for the 2014/15 season at their leisure. My guess is Kasper will want to see this LCFC adventure through before deciding anything.
Dan Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 If AC Milan are genuinely interested (are they?) then that just guarantees he's a goner, I just hope we keep him for the rest of this season. Â I don't think anyone could begrudge him wanting to leave us for Milan, promotion or not.
FoxDownSouth Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I would be distraught to see him leave, it will be difficult to find another keeper of similar ability at this point in the season. If we make him see out his contract he'll be able to go to them for free, but we'll then have more time and opportunity to bring in a suitable replacement. And then of course there's always the slight possibility he isn't interest in Milan... milan have 8 keepers, 4 of which on loan, im sure a deal that would see Kasper staying untill the end of the season would be possible, simular to Zaha last season.
C-man Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Tim Wiese would be a good replacement.  lol lol  Good oneÂ
Dan Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 milan have 8 keepers, 4 of which on loan, im sure a deal that would see Kasper staying untill the end of the season would be possible, simular to Zaha last season. Â But he's not a youngster anymore. He's about 26 isn't he? You'd think by that age even as a keeper you'd want to be playing rather than waiting for the future.
Happy Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 lol lol  Good one  He is a free agent as of yesterdayÂ
C-man Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 To be fair, we've got about as much chance of playing in the CL as Milan have next year... He is a free agent as of yesterday  I know! It's just that he's utter, utter garbage.
GingerrrFox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 He can sign a contract for them now if he wants and we can do nothing about it. They are a massive European club as everyone knows but they are no guarantee for European football next year and Italian football is not what it was. Tough to call, he's one of the few players we have who has genuine options at the end of the season.
LCCFox96 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I'd wait until the end of the season if I was Kasper. Milan are doing so poorly they could miss out in European football completely. Then the main benefit of staying here or going to AC Milan could just be top flight football. Albeit he would always have better chances of European football with Milan - we can hardly argue we are a bigger club. However, should we go up the EPL is a bigger league the Serie A. Moves like Giaccherini from Juventus to Sunderland and Osvaldo from Roma to Southampton show this. Hope he stays. I love his passion and how he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Great shot stopper and a solid keeper. We would certainly miss him. I genuinely think he likes it here as well.

MrSpaM Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 What are you going to do? handcuff him to the goal posts?
21st Century Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 There's always the possibility that he wouldn't want to up-end his family to Italy and get involved with a club in crisis. There's also the question of long term, as Milan have the highly thought of young Brazilian keeper Gabriel Ferreira on the books who's looked to replace Abbiati and possibly Julio Cesar for Brazil, so he might just be going as a stop gap between the two as Gabriel isn't ready yet. Â Personally I wouldn't touch Milan with a barge pole with the boardroom power struggle. Though this does smack of the type of thrifty move that Berlusconi would be looking to make at the moment.
