Leicesterpool Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 If Milan are interested then be sure we'll get a good price for him, i think Nigel should push for £6million! We could sell him to Milan but request to loan him back out to us till the end of season! EDIT: Noticed a problem with that actually now his contract runs out at the end of season, doesn't it damn!
GingerrrFox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 If Milan are interested then be sure we'll get a good price for him, i think Nigel should push for £10million! We could sell him to Milan but request to loan him back out to us till the end of season! Or they can wait 5 months till Abbiati decides to retire and have him for free?

Simonb Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 He may be tempted, but I think he wants to emulate his dad and play in the prem, probably with ambitions of playing for united
21st Century Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Going to Milan would be like living in an Italian-dubbed episode of Games of Thrones.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 One interesting thing about Kasper recently is every interview he does he refuses to talk about contracts and next season, even this means he's being a patient and awaiting a new contract or he wants to move on even if promoted or not. Look at his a career he's a certainly a journeyman, been to alot of clubs throughout for his age maybe he's bored here and wants a new challenge somewhere else.
Simonb Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 i think he won't talk contracts because personally he doesn't want one yet. If we don't go up, he can walk into most PL teams for free with no hassle of his parent club haggling over a fee, if we do go up, he can sign an improved contract and use the offers he receives as bait to bleed more money from us through a new contract
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 But he's not a youngster anymore. He's about 26 isn't he? You'd think by that age even as a keeper you'd want to be playing rather than waiting for the future. In goalkeeper terms he's a baby
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 If Milan are genuinely interested it's a no-brainer and Kasper will be gone (probably on a free at the end of the season). Even if second choice for Milan it's still a massive thing for a guy who has spent the vast majority of his career at Championship level. If two or three years down the line it hasn't worked out then he's still got a good few years left in him to be first choice somewhere else. It's highly likely that the only way from Milan will be down, but that down is still massively up from where we are at the moment. Recent links with Hennessy make me think that there may be something to this...
MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Going to Milan would be like living in an Italian-dubbed episode of Games of Thrones. More like Boardwalk Empire. Roma/Lazio is GoT territory.
LCCFox96 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Kasper could be a consistent number 1 for us for another 10 years easily. I don't even remember the last time we had a keeper when I thought yep this guy is a potential long term player for us. I think we'd be fools to lose him, especially with him being capable of so much more in the future. I think he is looking to sign a new deal but merely hedging his bets for as long as possible. To reach his full potential he needs premiership football in the next few years.
Fox92 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I believe it's his surname that get's linked. I mean, Milan, seriously? I don't think he's that good, still has only played regular for two second tier teams and a third tier side at 27, then suddenly one of the biggest clubs in the World are linked with him.
maynefox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 For a big club like AC Milan, It wouldn't surprise me if he went, albeit in the summer; so he can still play, get us promoted and get some lasting respect from our fans as a professional. The fact that we are linked with Hennessey could be an indication Kasper will move in the summer ... though I would hope there are better no1s than WH.
RedSoxUK Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Forget about all the speculation surrounding Kasper for now.. Milan can enquire, and i'm sure we'll price him at 120mill because that's what he is / will be worth to us. The real issue here is why the **** have we not signed Kasper to a long term contract yet, we've had months - years to get this sorted, by far our best shot stopper in years, a decade even. I don't care if he's already on high wages, release Sean St. Ledger, Paul Gallagher, Waghorn and sign up a player that actually means something to us than worrying his abilities come the second half of the season. If Kasper goes / signs a pre-contract, he's going to be unsettled, and the same will happen to players that havnt signed a contract yet: Nugent, Dyer - our most prised assets. If the upper management keep on presuming and being optimistic like this, we'll end up 3rd in May, **** up in the play-offs, lose our best keeper in years and our first 20+ striker in years.

Keep hold of your best players no matter what, we can sign him up on a new contract starting from the summer (far higher if prem, still higher in the champ).
LCCFox96 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Thinking about it deeply the biggest attraction of moving to Milan at the moment is probably playing with Balotelli.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 We wouldn't be able to stop him joining Milan now, they have every right to offer him a contract as he's only got 6 months left here, so he'd go for free.
GingerrrFox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 If Kasper goes and we get promotion I would go after Asmir Begovic. He's only 26 and with Stoke signing Jack Butland it's clear they want him to be their No 1 for the long term. Begovic wouldn't be happy sitting on the bench and if we made a big play for him we could get him.

I think he would come its just whether we were willing to make that kind of investment in a keeper. Begovic has proven he is one of the best keepers in the Premiership but there are no real moves for him considering the keeper situation at other clubs and Stoke seem sweet on Butland.
Narborough_fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 We don't have the ability to stop him anymore. With less than six months left on his contract he can agree a pre-contract with AC Milan to start at the end of his current deal. If I had the choice of course I'd want to stop him, he's our number one and the best 'keeper we've had in a long time. Anyway, I'd much rather live in Leicester than Milan so I see no reason for him to leave
