Would you want to stop KASPER joining Milan

If Milan genuinely wanted him I'd happily shake his hand as he tottered off in the summer, far too big a club to turn down.

Wouldn't be letting him go in Jan though unless it was a ridiculous offer on the table.

When I read the title of this thread

'Would you want to stop KASPER joining Milan'

I thought he was going to join Milan Mandaric at Sheffield Wednesday   lol

Had to listen to Boyz II Men first ;)

I'd be gutted if Kasper left, but when a team of AC Milan's stature comes calling, it will be very unlikely if he signed a new contract with us, surely you would opt for Milan, even if we get into the Premier League.

This would be a great opportunity for him, to move to one of the biggest clubs in European Football, regardless if they aren't doing well atm.

He was always going to leave one day, and with him not signing a new contract yet, it looks unlikely that he'll stay, if we can keep him until the end of the season, then I'll be happy, after that, we may just have to move on, thank him for being probably our best goalkeeper for about 10 years, and look elsewhere.

If true I think it says more about the decline of Milan more than anything else.

I can imagine that it would be a pre-contract for him to join in summer because I don't think they will need anyone now and don't see he'd go mid season. Assuming its true.

Milan are in fact chasing Newcastle's Tim Krul and have stated if they don't get him Kasper is next in line, apparently.

I don't believe a word of it.

Out of interest who was the last player who left us for a bigger club that we were desperate not to sell? We only ever sell unwanted players

Probably Tricky Dicky Stearman to Wolves who were no doubt "bigger" at the time.

Heskey, Lennon or was that a free? Draper, Joachim.

Players like McAuley, Stearman, Hume, Mattock all left us for better placed teams, but I wouldn't say we were desperate not to sell.

Lennon surely.

The real issue here is why the **** have we not signed Kasper to a long term contract yet, we've had months - years to get this sorted, by far our best shot stopper in years, a decade even.

Maybe he doesn't want to sign a new contract, maybe he wants to run his contract down so he can sign for someone else for free with a huge signing on fee and better wages.

I think it's irrelevent if we'll be in the Prem or Champ, or League 2...

Keep hold of your best players no matter what, we can sign him up on a new contract starting from the summer (far higher if prem, still higher in the champ).

I presume you find the concepts of money and budgets irrelevant also?

Do you think we aren't signing people up because we can't be arsed?

He has always wanted to play in the premier league, even though AC Milan are a massive club, I dont think he will go.Would he even be first choice for them

Radio leicester have just had an Italian sport jurno on and she didn't think there was much in this, she suggested that AC would / are looking at some one more high profile.

Lennon surely.

Yeah I hated that, perhaps Piper actually as well. Izzet was heartbreaking but almost mutual given the dough he was on. Gudjonsson when he went to AZ Alkmaar after that wonder season for us. Not much to show for a team whose not been in the PL for nearly 11 seasons. We've been the pits, haha!!

Does Kasper really NEED to sign a pre-contract agreement with anyone?

He has stated he is happy being here and feels no need to enter talks on his future. So that suggests that if we do go up, a new deal will be offered to him and he will take it. If we dont go up, then he will be free to join whoever he wants.

I know you could say tying down Kasper would mean at least we would get something for him if he was sold IF we didnt go up, but he wouldnt sign any kind of long term contract anyway in his position surely? So its not as if a long term contract would add that much to his value?

Either way, he aint going anywhere and thats it.

EDIT: And plus, if we offered him a long term contract, and he took it, and then we didnt go up, we could end up lumbered with him. Actually unable to shift him if we wanted to.

Forget about all the speculation surrounding Kasper for now.. Milan can enquire, and i'm sure we'll price him at 120mill because that's what he is / will be worth to us.

I don't care if he's already on high wages, release Sean St. Ledger, Paul Gallagher,  Waghorn and sign up a player that actually means something to us than worrying his abilities come the second half of the season.

If Kasper goes / signs a pre-contract, he's going to be unsettled, and the same will happen to players that havnt signed a contract yet: Nugent, Dyer - our most prised assets. If the upper management keep on presuming and being optimistic like this, we'll end up 3rd in May, **** up in the play-offs, lose our best keeper in years and our first 20+ striker in years.

We can't release them they are under contract.

It's relevant to Kasper.

So what you going to do hold a shot gun to his head till he sign's.

lol lol lol FFS
