GingerrrFox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 How anyone can have a pop at Danny Drinkwater for the game today is beyond me. He performed solidly considering 2 of Watford's central midfielders man marked him whenever he got near the ball. They clearly did their homework and knew he makes our side tick.

He performed solidly considering 2 of Watford's central midfielders man marked him whenever he got near the ball. They clearly did their homework and knew he makes our side tick. Another blinkered view. He was shocking. He's not a shocking player, he's had a great season, but FFS, let's be fair and honest when a player has had a bad game. I do accept the midfield was numerically overrun but that is not the be all and end all of Drinky's display. And it was a fantastic, crucial strike. Maybe he's entitled to a bad game if he ends up rescuing a point with a worldie.
Bert Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Blinkered. What's fair is fair, they stepped it up in the second half but there's no way the first half was a 100% committed performance. I think you need to just let this one go. Why, because you don't agree with it? You're about the only person saying it too.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Alot of credit has to go to watford, set the stall out well, worked hard and frustrated, comming back from 0-2 down took some effort and we never gave up. IF we had scored the first goal, I think we would have cruised it. Yes, the passing was sloppy and alot of the play was turgid, and we looked to have run out of idea's but Watford have alot of quality and nearly got away with it. Let's hope against Forest we can get back to business as usual!

Maybe he's entitled to a bad game if he ends up rescuing a point with a worldie. Watford came to park the bus with 10 men behind the ball, do a job on Drinkwater by giving him no space on the ball in their half and put 2 of their central midfielders on him when he got near the ball. The fact we managed to recover a draw from the position we were in says everything you need to know about our side. To be honest you've said nothing but bollocks in this thread, there was a lot of things missing in the performance but being lazy, especially in Drinkwater's case is not one of them.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Except on a day where they are. It seems that it's not me being 'spoilt' by our performances this season, it's that other people are being blinded by them. Just because they've been doing certain things all season does not mean they were doing them today. I'm not talking about all the other games, I'm talking about today. Just because you keep saying it Kitch doesn't mean people have to agree or you are right. There was no lack of effort imo, conditions were difficult, they made it hard yes, lack of effort no. You have a few too many before match?
ADK Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I don't know what game kitch was watching but I thought we played very well against a Watford side who got quite lucky with a two goal lead and defended with tenacity. I thought a lot of our play was excellent especially drinkwater who had to work extra hard to find space.
Soup Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I understand now why our ground is like a morgue, most people are too busy making notes on our players.Yawn.
foxfanazer Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Lack of effort? Behave! Can see that 11 games unbeaten still isn't good enough for some of you.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I have no idea where Kitch is coming from tonight. The conditions WERE important today and there was no lack of effort on our part. It was just one of those games. Get over it.
foxfanazer Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Do people really think we were poor today? Got sucker punched by two goals but that was it. Thought we controlled the game and always looked a danger. Just needed to be more clinical. Not a bad result and 1 point closer to promotion
steveherbe Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Took my 2 and a half year old son to his first game today he loved it the pride and emotion I experienced today was immense especially celebrating the equaliser with him and everyone around us Fantastic, theres another lifelong city fan into the fold. Hope he enjoyed it. Took my lad at 3 years old, he's 20 now and a city lunatic, despite living in bournemouth

( stands by for yards of meaningless rubbish)
Leicesterpool Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Sounded like some come back and so close to winning it at the death aswell, well the winning streak ends but the unbeaten run still continues!

Not our best, but far from our worst.
steveherbe Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Sounded like some come back and so close to winning it at the death aswell, well the winning streak ends but the unbeaten run still continues!Yeah, but Kitch isnt happy, so thousands of us who saw the game and reckoned the lads fought for a point are all wrong. I'm sick of his bloody ramblings. This is OUR forum, not just yours, (Kithandro) take a break.
Happy Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 We could of passed the ball quicker, but Watford denied us a lot of space and frustrated us at times, but we showed why we are title contenders coming back to draw the game from being 2 down.

I'm sick of his bloody ramblings. This is OUR forum, not just yours, take a break. I think he's drunk. Has to be with the crap he's coming out with. At least he's the only one. Everyone else seems to be able to see that although not at our best, we still fought right to the death and rescued a point.

ManU fan I reckon
ARTY_FOX Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It's hard to find room when a team constantly has 11 men behind the ball
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It's hard to find room when a team constantly has 11 men behind the ball Exactly. Christ, we may be top but there is an opposition to play! No-one will just cave in and let us win. If anything, its very likely that scouts will be looking at us more now. I believe thats' what happened last season... we got found out. This season I think we're good enough to change our play if and when we need to.

This season I think we're good enough to change our play if and when we need to. Today we were good enough to get past them in the end. In the second half we played much wider and spread play much quicker rather than trying to break through the middle. It worked as we had a far better half and could/should have won the game come the final whistle. Anyway a lot of the teams we will be playing won't have the quality of individual that Watford had today.
Rincewind Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Thought we were OK considering they had ten men in defence. All teams from now on will play like that. As long as we get more wins than those below us I will be happy.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 This game has gone now Red scum away is the next important game
DennisNedry Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Do people really think we were poor today? Got sucker punched by two goals but that was it. Thought we controlled the game and always looked a danger. Just needed to be more clinical. Not a bad result and 1 point closer to promotion We had a lot of possession but never looked threatening at all imo, except for the last 5 or 10 minutes. Too much sideways and backwards passing and not enough attacking with pace. You say we needed to be more clinical, but I can't remember a home game in quite a while where we have created so few chances. That was partly down to us being poor, and also due to Watford's spoiling tactics. 10 men behind the ball at all times.
