dayday Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 First half we were poor, losing out to the second ball to much, passing was indecisive, and Dyer was virtually a passenger, why didn't Dyer and Knockeart change wings it was so predictable. Second half was better but still struggled to create anything of note,I thought the game was ideal for Wood,we needed a target....but hey hoe we managed to grab a point which I think most fans would take in the circumstances.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Can't blame Watford for setting up like they did, but for a side that preaches their 'Barcelona-eske' football I only saw West Ham I'm afraid.
lcfc1994 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Really frustrating game to watch. It was good to see the players fighting for a win towards the end though.
GingerrrFox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 They play some shit football under that bald ****. Gone are the days of attacking football under Zola.
Dickov22 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 My views of the game..... Their first goal looked onside to me. I'm probably wrong but I thought he was onside. Rather than blame the linesman, I blame Wasilewksi who didn't track Deeney once De Laet went up for a header. Be interesting to see it on TV later. Watford were pretty disgraceful in both their time wasting tactics, and the amount of times they went down injured. However, they got their game plan spot on - right from the off it was all men behind the ball. So hard to play against. They defended really well. They've got a decent front two and our two CB's did well. I thought we played pretty well considering Watford's style of play, the frustration of their antics, the conditions. We kept going. Every time James or Drinkwater got the ball Watford were on them. Same with Dyer. They knew our threats. I'd have liked to have seen Wood come on earlier, but that's Nigel's job. From being 2-0 down, a point is good.

Dickov22 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It was onside from the replays I've seen. Thought so
Russell sprout Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Had watfords players not spent so much time on the deck, they would have won that game, instead 5 mins injury time and a cracking equaliser, only themselves to blame
Father Ted Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Credit to Watford - their unsporting behaviour stopped us from playing our game. I really hope their travelling 500 supporters enjoyed that dull performance, 11 men behind the ball for 89 minutes of the game and acting that could get half of their side on to the cast of Eastenders. They could really do with another bus driver though, that's 3 times they've parked the bus away from home in their last 3 games and screwed up a 2-0 lead. 'In your cup final, in your cup final, 2-0 up and you ****ed it up, in your cup final!' Absolute scenes when Drinkwater scored, imagine if Matty James could only have squared it to Knockaert to make it 3-2 at the end! I genuinely reckon I'd have ended up halfway across the netting into the Watford end and Knockaert would have gone for the Adebayor celebration. Oh well.

But yeah, it would've been awesome.
iamafox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Watford came for a draw and they got it, although maybe not in the manner they expected because they were winning for most of the game. We were still in it throughout and despite their dogged resilience, play acting and favourable treatment from the inept officials, we earned a deserved point. Could have won it towards the end but I'm happy with the result nevertheless.
mugshot Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 We need to play Mahrez instead of Dyer!... He's gone completely off the boil!! The problem is that Dyer has two players doubling up on him now as teams have seen what he is capable of, this is a big part of why he cant do what he was a few weeks back.
sphericalfox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 L was wank today L was wank today Were you at the match with fookin diagnosed glandular fever? I really hope not! For your sake and everyone that came anywhere near you.
Dan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It happens. Not surprised one bit that we didn't win. Fantastic strike at the end, love the moments like it, but I'm not gonna celebrate a draw at home now. Too many below par displays - Vardy, Dyer and Drinkwater, probably our three key players this season, were all below par and that's why we've not won. They're not a bad side in fairness but their cheating is an absolute disgrace. I fail to believe that was a one off either given Forestieri's reputation - them giving Knockaert shit is absolutely, utterly laughable. They're the biggest cheats I've ever seen.
Super_horns Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Oh and super_horns. Forestieri has taken diving out of his game? ah well I wasn't there to see it this time. Only going by the home games (we usually aren't ahead in them to time waste or whatever!) I'd tend to agree we are quite defensive and do put men behind the ball more so under Sannino than under Zola.
El Sieffsi Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 How their fans can chant cheat at Knockaert is beyond me..after seeing THAT?!! Looked like a team of Casualty actors at a swimming gala.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I really do think it was the proverbial game of two halves. Sitting right at the front as I do, the wind was massively blowing towards the kop. I said to my mate if we could keep it to one goal in the first half, we'd win the second half, which we did. James goal was so important because it kept us within one goal of them. Personally, I thought they played the firat half really well. Hitting us quickly and utlising Deeney. They were lucky too. Their first goal was from a shot from Deeney, it was never meant as a cross. I thought Pearson didn't play it right today. I'd have made the subs after about 60 mins to get them more into the game and would have swapped Wood for Nugent, not Vardy. I think King should have come on for James as well. What today did show was the never say die attitude in the squad. Again, last season we'd have lost that game.
Dan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 On target http://thetwounfortunates.com/leicester-city-have-the-championship-points-record-in-their-sights/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=leicester-city-have-the-championship-points-record-in-their-sights Very interesting
AlphaMaleFox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Fantastic strike at the end, love the moments like it, but I'm not gonna celebrate a draw at home now. Really? We live for that kind of feelings, from despair to joy... It feels like a win. THAT stampede in L1!
Happy Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It is a another point towards promotion, we still need 7 more wins and we are promoted. Hope QPR/Dierby draw and Burnley to lose on the Tuesday, and that will be a good set of results for us. With a 1/3 of the season left to go now its crunchtime but we have the squad depth to cope. Got a 10 day break much needed rest for some players who look a bit fatigued imo.
Kitchandro Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Today was very poor. I'm convinced a lot of those players were on the piss last night, some just did not turn up at all and there was some real laziness out there. Today we played like a team who thought they were already promoted, a team that thought it only had to turn up to win. You cannot afford to have that attitude in the Championship, if you're not at the best, you could be in trouble. The worst of the lot I thought was Drinkwater. Looked like he was on some sort of drugs. His worst performance all season by some stretch. But then he grabs a superb leveller right at the end which could be vital. Morgan was bullied by Deeney, our defence in general was a bit sloppy and did not cut out the long balls quickly enough - we had a tendency to let the ball bounce and not make it ours and that led to the second goal. Having grabbed a point from what looked to be a losing battle I was pretty happy, but ended up leaving a bit pissed off and Nugent missed his second sitter from about 4 yards. WTF was he playing at. He has been so frustrating this season for a man with so many goals (ahem penalties ahem). Dyer was anonymous, Knockaert got worse as the game went on and De Laet was mainly lacklustre apart from the odd burst forward in the second half. I'm not quite sure why Pearson left the subs so late or why he took Vardy off instead of Nugent. It's so obvious that Vardy is much more vital and effective in open play; he shows for the ball, he chases things down to make something from nothing - these are things that Nugent doesn't really do. It's certainly not panic stations yet but I do think we need to be stepping the performances back up soon. We have 11 days to prepare for the Forest match and a similar display to today won't be acceptable. As it is though, it could easily just be an off day, and one we still got a point from. It's just a shame we have to wait so long until the next match.
Kitchandro Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 By the way, I've no problem with Watford sitting back on their lead and trying to make it difficult for us, but I'm not going to let anyone defend their play-acting tactics, nor Almunia's time wasting which the cvnt of a ref had no interest in doing anything about. And before people say we had 5 minutes added on, that's not the point, as things like that disrupt our momentum. It should be stamped out when it becomes obvious that's what they're trying to do when we're pressing hard for a goal.
ithuriel Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Not seen time wasting, play acting and blatant cheating like that since the days when Warnock was manager of Shef. Utd. Shame really because they could be a decent footballing team if they actually tried to play football, just a shame City were not at their best and we only took the point.
