AKCJ Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 According to this; http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/runin.html If we continue our current PPG then we'll finish shy of Reading's sensational 106 tally, but if we continue our 'current form' (I assume that means the last 6 games) then we'll finish with 110. All very interesting, now lets sit back and enjoy the run in because this is gonna be fun
Mark_w Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I'm certain that it isn't mathematically possible for us to finish bottom, surely the other 23 teams couldn't pick up enough points from their games with each other to see us drop 23 places?
Kitchandro Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I'm pretty sure that's not true. They have worked out that Yeovil can get 72 points but they haven't taken into account the points other teams would have to drop for that to be possible. And of course it's not just Yeovil, but many other teams that would have to get an obscene amount of points for us to finish bottom, but they can't all win that many games to overhaul us, it's not possible. Some teams will have to lose.
Soar Fox Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 What odds can you get on us finishing bottom. If it's 40/1 it might be worth a fiver....
Unabomber Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Would people still want us to stick with Pearson should we finish bottom?
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Utter horseshit. For Yeovil to finish on 72 they would have to beat Barnsley, who's tally would then drop to a max of 71 points and so on and so on, I'm sure it is now impossible for us to get relegated.
Gforce19 Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 We will be bottom cos for those of you old enough to remember Filbo , one song we sang every week without fail( usually bcos we actually were rock bottom was ) The football league Is upside down The football league Is upside down So yes we will be bottom based on this logic 😜
Harry - LCFC Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Done a bit of work on excel and I think I can show it's not possible for us to finish bottom. For it to happen every team in the league would need to finish on 67+ points (i.e. above us). The 'need' column is the amount of points each team needs to get to 67. So Burnley on 60 need just 7 more points. The 'droppable' column is the amount of points each team can drop and still get to 67, so Burnley have 15 games left needing 7 more points from a possible 45 and therefore can afford to drop 38. Hope that's clear. Since the total number of 'droppable' points (506) is less than the number of points needed (634) for every team to overtake us we cannot finish bottom of the league now. I think that's correct. Please point out where I'm wrong if I am, and yes, I am a sad fvck.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 There's always one overly pessimistic shit who still believes there's a chance of relegation even when we've smashed 60 points. EERR HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE LEAGUE TABLE YOU SCROT?

Harry - LCFC Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Thinking about it we might be safe from relegation altogether. I'll get back to excel....
Fox92 Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 We can't really though because the bottom three have to play each other, as well as all the mid table teams, so everyone will still be taking points from each other as the games pass on.

Zingari Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 it might be worth risking a tenner at the bookies . should get reasonable odds , maybe 10 or even 15 to 1

Mind you, it would be good for us to get 115 points. Bring it on!

Jace Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Oh dear how many wrong assumptions can you get on 1 thread?
yorkie1999 Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Would people still want us to stick with Pearson should we finish bottom? They would if we all put £100 on it, because we would all be millionaires.
