The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Top class tonight. Vardy was unreal again. Very glad I bothered to go
LcFc_Smiv Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 First away game this season, took the Mrs whos a Sheff Utd season ticket holder to her first Leicester game. Don't mean to be a tit haha but Barnsley weren't 11 unbeaten at home. They were beaten at home in late December by Derby ...sorry hahah Great win though, awesome display!

morris1234 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Tit I've edited it so its correct!! To be honest that's still a good record for them when considering an unbeaten home record this year and when compared against where they are, is surprising. Shows just how bad they are away from home!
fuchsntf Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 We haven't exactly been playing sides with bags of quality going forward, but he's done well from what I've seen Be careful you dont knock over your 1/2 glass empty....
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Just got back... As a Leicester City fan it's hard to say it without it being mathematically guaranteed but we're up! Ok, not technically, but the way we're playing and with a lack of challenger in the play-off pack it has to happen. Tonight just epitomised why we are where we are. The team is absolutely ticking and every player in the side wants the ball and then can do something with it when they have it. Contrast this to the likes of Mills and Whitbread over the last couple of years who couldn't retain possession to save their lives, or the likes of Kane sauntering around on loan and not really giving a care whether we had the ball or not, and you can see why we're where we are. It was an absolute contrast to last season at Oakwell. For the past three months the most troubled we've been as supporters is having to decide who was man of the match between Drinkwater and Vardy. I think Drinkwater just pipped him tonight for the fact that he absolutely bossed that game. People have talked about the criticism Drinkwater has had in the past but it's not just that everyone is now seeing something they weren't before, Drinkwater is a different player this season. A lot of the credit has to go to himself of course, but also Pearson for the change in the way he's been deplyed. This season he's played Drinkwater further forward in the midfield two (or at times three) and it has allowed him to link things in the final third and drive on with the ball as opposed to being that player in front of the back four who always seemed to go sideways or backwards. His goal count has been pretty decent too. We showed a ruthless effeciency tonight. Came out and took control in the first half, got our lead and then came out in the second and set about killing the game off. At 3-0 we dropped a couple of gears and they still couldn't cope with it. The amount of nutmegs and one/two touch passes was great to watch but at one point I could see one of our lads being on the end of a really bad tackle out of Barnsley frustration. Thankfully that never happened. All in all an emphatic win. Nugent and Vardy got a good half an hour's rest as well which will be much needed as we enter this final phase of the season. The intensity at which they have played and the lack of alternatives up until January means that we'll need to save them when we have games like his sewn up ealry doors. One of the only negatives of the night for me was not seeing King get some pitch time. When he's been so good for the club and such a consumate professional it's a bit of a shame to see the likes of Taylor-Fletcher and Hammond getting minutes ahead of him when, next season in the Premiership, they'll be surplus to requirements but King will still have a lot to offer. In the stands great support in terms of numbers, anyone know how many turned up on the gate? I'd guess our total support was around 3,700, there were people stood in the aisles where I was (including me). In terms of noise we were fairly good but I didn't like the sarcastic cheering of the Barnsley passes. There's a way to win and as a fanbase I think we're generally fairly humble with it but that was a little too facetious for my liking. Let's not forget where we've come from and what we've been through now our good time has finally come around.
stuartn27 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Anyone see them flashing balls that were being thrown about?
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 We're so good it's unbelievable Clap clap clap clap clapity clap clap We're so good it's unbelievable
Lobsterboyuk Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 The pace and quality of some of the 1-2 passing tonight by city was a joy to watch. Barnsley did try to compete for a short spell or two but the gulf in class was telling.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Brilliant trip with daughter, my mate and his son - fans were terrific, team were dominant - and the 'One Stephen Dawson' chants from our lot when he was announced as Man of the Match was chuffin hilarious.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Fantastic display. Tbh should have been even more

leicesterisme Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Think that's the most comfortable I've ever seen us away from home. They never troubled us at all. We were superb once again. Love this team.

AKCJ Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Im confused...Who the fook is Stephen dawson? The match sponsors chose him as MOTM (obviously they have to name a home player) and the Leicester fans started singing "Theres only one Stephen Dawson" and "Du du du du, Stephen Dawson" ect
foxfanazer Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Apart from maybe Dyer (although maybe it was due to injury) not one player has looked like they've burnt out this season. Incredible really as it's the same players that looked dead on their feet this time last year
LanguedocFox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 The match sponsors chose him as MOTM (obviously they have to name a home player) and the Leicester fans started singing "Theres only one Stephen Dawson" and "Du du du du, Stephen Dawson" ect Not sure how many people there knew (I only knew it because Youngy mentioned it) but he started his career as a trainee with City - left on a free when he was 19: http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=40420
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Literally couldn't sleep last night. I am dead on my feet looking after my 14month old daughter. But what a bloody brilliant time to be a City fan
Dan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Feels like we're all but up now. Not confirmed until it's mathematic but I think not even the most avid Derby fan could see them gaining 15 points this season. It's literally reached the point where Derby could win every remaining game and still come below us. Delighted to be represented by a team with such desire, skill, FLAIR, ruthlessness and potential. Best side I've seen us have. Totally walked over them yet again. Support last night was quality. Numbers were terrific for midweek even if we are top. Some of the noise at times was excellent. 3-0 is the new 2-1 Said this on the way home
