Soup Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 How nice. Don't get too drunk tonight though. I would say good luck for the rest of the season but you don't need it, so I won't. How cheap was the beer in the pub over the road.If you go up I'll have some more of that..
5waller5 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 When our Burnley fans come back to read our comments I would simply like to say. Firstly sorry that Vokes was injured and hope it's not to serious, definitely swung the game in our favour. Hope that you soon get a full strength squad back and come up to the Premiership with us. You have taken this defeat pretty well. Best of luck for the remainder of the season. Good grief .... It's not a love in!!!! I'd just like to say ..... The better team won. Comfortably.
EnglishOxide Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Was we a bit careless in possesion ? I'd say so. Bit too eager to bomb forward at times, Knockaert skied it one too many times for my liking after hitting the bar too. Probably get punished a bit more often if we concede posession with such regularity next season.
Blond Witch Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 How cheap was the beer in the pub over the road.If you go up I'll have some more of that. . Park View?
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Burnley to come up with us any day of the week, no way I want QPR or Derby to come straight up.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 A fine game, and great result. Well done to both sets of fans and players, and I too hope Burnley come up with us. Got a gut feeling that the confirmation of promotion will come at the QPR game. That would be a great game to do it in.- Oh stop bleed'n' crying 'Arry.
Soup Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Park View? Didn't see the name, turn left out of away turnstiles, just a few hundred yards down.
Babylon Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Was we a bit careless in possesion ?Yes, similar to Yeovil and Blackburn. Thankfully rather than spurning easy chances we finished two half chances brilliantly.Clearly we weren't at our best, and with burnley missing their better players the game was lacking in terms of our usual quality (other than the goals and a few other bits and pieces). Still a fantastic result and we worked incredibly hard and more than matched their work rate and physicality and on the day a few moments of class split the teams.
StanSP Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Was we a bit careless in possesion ? Not as much as Tuesday! We passed it more comfortably today, even with a lot of player around the midfield. Defence looked comfortable and we all know how Wood and Nugent linked up!
weller54 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Hope QPR lose so Burnley haven't lost out any today!!!... Still be 10 points clear of 3rd.. Good for them... BUT.. IT'S OUR CHAMPIONSHIP!!
Lionheart Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Outstanding team performance all round they all proper wanted to win today,be hard pressed to call a MOTM they were all superb, really like Mahrez think he will get better and better . The Blues are going up.
Corky Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 In no way were we nervous, we did lose the ball a bit but so did they, the commitment to press and harry the Burnley players was fantastic and we had three brilliant efforts on goal which nearly produced three memorable goals. We were comfortable and very few teams will come away from Turf Moor saying that.
nlukka Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Just on my way back from Burnley now and what a day it's been so far. This may possibly be my favourite away game of all time! An absolutely superb performance from the players, hard to pick out a man of the match from that; Wood, Drinkwater, James, Schlupp, RDL, Morgan and Was were all absolutely superb. We truly were at our absolute best today with some lovely high-tempo pressing and counter-attacking mixed in with resolute defending and excellent ball retention. The fact that I never once felt we were in danger today shows just how well we played; this was miles better than QPR away when we broke their unbeaten home record. Our fans were excellent today and for me that was the best away end I've been in this season - to take that many numbers for a lunchtime kick-off that's on Sky, 3 hours from Leicester and with expensive ticket prices was absolutely superb. I've lost my voice but I could not care less, it was most definitely worth it! Spoke to a few Burnley fans pre and post match and they are a thoroughly decent bunch; no doubt that they'll be joining us in the Premiership next season. Turf Moor is also a great ground, in spite of the wooden seats! And with a half-time beer, cigarette and pie what more could you ask for! Highlight of the day was singing Nigel Pearson's name as he was doing the Sky interview and then seeing RDL and Was outside. Only downside was missing out on the free blue t-shirts on arrival, but I can live with the memories of the day instead!
GingerrrFox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Did anyone catch why Nugent had a pop at Knockaert as he came off? Didn't look happy and was calling him all sorts till Stowell told him to leave it. Anyway fantastic result. Real gritty, hard nosed performance with lethal finishing. We will need more of that next season...IN THE ****ING PREMIERSHIP!!!!!! LEICESTER CITY THE BOYS IN BLUE!!!!!!
Nipples Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Burnley fan here. Thought you was fantastic, the best team in the league without question - you deserve to win the league. Before the game I would of been happy with a point (given we didn't have Trippier, Marney and Ings) but then as soon as Vokes went off I knew we wasn't going to get anything. Spoke with a couple of Leicester fans after the game and we both agreed that we'll both be in the Prem next season, apparently our fans were clapping your coaches out of Burnley which is pretty good to see, there's a nice mutual respect between your fans and ours and between our managers - of which Pearson said some really complimentary things about us after the game so fair play to him, seems a really good bloke.

Been a nice day in Burnley, there was some good friendly banter in The Boot Inn nice to see a pub full of both home and away fans without them horrible "Home Fans Only" signs. Oh and seen the famous Rocky!

Was just over knockaert not passing a couple of times, nuge went a bit ott with the shouting and knockaert didn't like it. Lost heads for spell but soon as wood scored knocky went straight to nuge and all was happy again. They seem close.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 That performance today was excellent and is the hallmark of champions elect! I do hope the twitchy arse brigade calm down now! COYB

crisp packet Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 With all the talk pre match of Burnley, I fancied us.Today we proved we are the best team in the league!! We was superb, every member of our blue army was awesome !!!! Great day... We roll on. COYB.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Was far more comfortable than I expected, I never once felt like we would lose that game
indierich06 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Today showed how much they rely on Ings Trippier and Vokes, they looked pretty poor without them. Well yeah, they were missing four key players from their side in Ings, Vokes, Marney and Trippier. If we lost Nugent, Vardy, Drinkwater and De Laet for this game, we'd probably have struggled too.
