StanSP Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Squad is still pretty strong despite the changes. Would take a point to elongate the unbeaten run. Fancy Liam Moore to be on the scoresheet again. Wigan are no mugs though. We must take them as seriously as we did Burnley on Saturday.
AjcW Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Really I thought they both were excellent against Burnley Promotion is in sight, shouldn't we get that first? Drinkwater and James were awesome on Saturday and didn't look tired at all. I know they played well... but against yeovil especially they looked shattered... i think its a good decision, keep them fresh, especially with the back to back easter games on the way.
MC Prussian Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Wow - for once, I was spot on with my starting line-up prediction. Love it. Don't paint it so black, folks. Changes had to be made. I'm sure we'll do just fine with Hammond and King in the middle.
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 The ony thing i disagree with NP on is changing both cenral midfielders. I'd have played king and Drinky tonight and james and Hammond friday. But, in NP i trust!!
stb1996 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Well, errrm, shame it wasn't 20 unbeaten I would go for a 442 diamond personally Be good to see if Wood and Nuge can link up like they did last season (which they showed glimpses of on Saturday) Would've started Schlupp though
AKCJ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I know they played well... but against yeovil especially they looked shattered... i think its a good decision, keep them fresh, especially with the back to back easter games on the way. They should have been rested for that game IMO. This is our game in hand a significant opportunity to put daylight between us and Burnley. Obviously it's still a strong side but i'd rather we went out all guns blazing.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Seems a bit extreme to me. Cannot afford to lose this one. Opportunity to build the gap. Hope we pull it off but can't say I'm confident. Why drop schlupp?

foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 This is Pearson showing Sean Dyche up even more... look what we can field if we had injuries...
Babylon Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Two weeks ago... "Why didn't he change the team we look knackered". Today after more games "why is he changing the team". How about, trust the management to rest who needs resting and to give game time to those who need games, and that's regardless of the bloody result.
crisp packet Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We have been up a while ? Bar the p.... Great usage of the squad ? A lot games still to play in a short period of time . There are reasons why we haven't had many injuries this season and a squad is one of them . In n.p I trust. COYB.
Father Ted Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Andy King in a 4 man midfield away from home rarely ends too well. I hope Schlupp is straight back in after this, we need him playing as much as we can to prepare him for the Prem. Can see NP favouring Konchesky, surely not this time??

Why drop schlupp? Not sure. He is young, so may tire quicker?? Seems odd anyhow, but konchesky is a solid replacement.
Captain... Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Only thing I disagree with is completely changing the midfield, no problem with Dyer, Konch, Moore, slotting in, Vardy is injured. But king AND Hammond is a massive risk, and I would rather have seen better management of James and drinkwater so that they weren't knackered at the same time.
Jake Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 anyone know how to buy tickets at the ground!? Please

Hammond has a vast amount of experience and King's been with the club for years and is more than capable of holding his own in midfield. I mean, some people get carried away too easily. Looks like we're a bit spoilt lately, aren't we?

Indeed, it isn't like we have stuck a load of unknown youngsters in, of cause it is still a small risk due to the fact we aren't fielding our best side.
lgfualol Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 If that really is the team... Wondering what to think of it. Not totally confident. But we have a game on Friday so it would make sense. I'd be happy with a draw.
maynefox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Can see the reason: If we kept going with an unchanged squad until Friday, the same team would have played 4 matches in 10 days!

Looks like we're a bit spoilt lately, aren't we? Not denying their ability, although I've never been completely convinced by Hammond, but having had drinky and James start for the last 3 months, and king and Hammond having very little game time, it is a risk. Obviously if James and drinky are knackered it is a fully fit and raring to go king and Hammond is preferable, but we've known about these fixtures for a long time and we could have made small changes against Blackburn, Yeovil and Burnley rather than 6 changes at the same time.
Webbo Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Pearson said on the moan in that he would use the squad.
MalarkyR Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We need to show some faith in these lads like NP has!
