Cotts Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Last time Pearson did this during a busy spell it paid off hugely. Yet people still question it? I think we will set up slightly more defensively, knowing that a draw today and a big win against Wednesday would be a great week! It seems as though some fans got a bit to used to winning and expect to go for the kill in every game!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 If it pays off to rest a few then fine Leicester win
Unabomber Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I wonder how many games unbeaten we would have to go for people to stop questioning Nigel's team selections, my guess is 1114.
Kitchandro Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Are we sure it's not an April Fool? Some changes I can understand but fvck me, we aren't promoted yet. Dropping Drinkwater AND James, especially when Hammond is a replacement, is very, very strange.

Dropping Drinkwater AND James, especially when Hammond is a replacement, is very, very strange. Take in to account how many games they've played, and then the games coming up in quick succession. I'm also pretty sure that Pearson/management know the fitness levels of the squad and want to conserve the energy/fitness levels of the squad for the rest of the season. Given that today is a free game so to speak, there's no harm in using different resources and using the strength in depth of our squad.
ScouseFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 The last two major Pearson team changes that cause uproar on here I can remember were Palace away when he first played Moore (won) and Mill away this year (won). He probably knows what he's doing. I for one am glad King is getting a start. He'll be raring to go an DD and James have played nearly every minute for god knows how many games in god knows how many weeks.

Why rest them tonight but not against Yeovil? Why rest them at all when we're on such a roll? It's bizarre and completely out of character from Pearson. And why both of them? Strength in depth is one thing but we're talking about taking our key players out here. Taking Drinkwater out and replacing him with Hammond is like dumping Kelly Brook for Susan Boyle.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 All these changes and still no St Ledger? PEARSON OUT.
Mark_w Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Dropped Drinky and James. Is this a joke? Is that a direct quote from the Millwall match thread?
Babylon Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Not denying their ability, although I've never been completely convinced by Hammond, but having had drinky and James start for the last 3 months, and king and Hammond having very little game time, it is a risk. Obviously if James and drinky are knackered it is a fully fit and raring to go king and Hammond is preferable, but we've known about these fixtures for a long time and we could have made small changes against Blackburn, Yeovil and Burnley rather than 6 changes at the same time. What's he risking? You said we were already promoted, and Burnley have lost the strikers who put them where they are.
Brooksy Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We'll still win tonight, even with 6 changes and Jon Moss as ref. 2/1 to win now.

Taking Drinkwater out and replacing him with Hammond is like dumping Kelly Brook for Susan Boyle. Well that's a far-fetched analogy if ever there was one. It's not like Hammond is a seriously bad player! Why rest them at all? To make sure they don't pick up any injuries. That's the whole reason of resting a player. Hardly out of character from Pearson when he probably knows what he's doing the most. He knows the squad better than any of us, and probably all of us put together.
lestajigs Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 anyone know how to buy tickets at the ground!? Please Maybe the main ticket office or the turnstile
lgfualol Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I have a good feeling about Dyer tonight, anyone else? Knocky will be knackered on Friday.

Mark_from_USA Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 If we played the full squad tonight and Friday and won both games, we would likely confirm promotion on Saturday, watching the telly for QPR to lose/draw, which is pretty likely. If we don't win both, Brighton on Tuesday seems more likely, at home, in front of the fans. Why run the squad ragged over this stretch? Promotion is in the bag, lets let them play and have fun and then enjoy the inevitable when it happens in our house.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Very early for team news, I doubt that is the starting 11. However, if it is then it's fine by me, in NP I trust.
sbfox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Fvcks' sake FT... You never cease to amaze, always someone willing to have a moan. Moore - future captaincy beckons Konch - a very solid left-back, perhaps lacking a yard of pace now Hammond - experienced, been in this situation before King - we all know how good Kingy can be Dyer - form of his life this season Wood - scored a cracker and played very well on Saturday, bound to be buzzing and wanting to prove a point. It's hardly like we've shipped in a load of nobodies is it?!
MikeyT Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Subs: Logan, Mahrez, Phillips, Schlupp, Miquel, Drinkwater, Taylor-Fletcher #lcfc
Mark_w Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 BkJ1GXvIIAAiJFv.jpg We stayed in the same hotel as bayern last night Franck Ribery must have felt so humbled.
GingerrrFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 http://instagram.com/p/mQY7c6nL78/ Bit of an odd handshake between Pearson and Waghorn.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Even if we lose we are still 6 points ahead of burnley with a very winnable game on Friday Chill peeps we're up !
